Ben Hansen who left the Sox for an sports biometrics group at Intel, looks to have moved to Mets to be director of performance technology. He was an interesting guy, hope this new hire can continue to keep up our investment in technology in player dev.

I don’t know quite how describe the feeling of being annually disappointed by how the Sox handle intl strategically while still being kinda impressed by its production.

There has been a lot of using fangraphs defensive WAR for catchers this offseason and being surprised what catchers it favors. Id recommend at some point questioning whether to continue using that.

Are you saying 2 first rounders as in 4 overall plus a 2024 first and a player? I’d go B, but would be silly of colts as they trade up for a QB. But I’d probably go Buckner, then restructure him. But if we get an extra third this year plus a future first that would be great for a trade back of three spots, imo.

Holy crap I forgot about tampa and NO. This year is nuts. I remember a few years ago it seemed like every team had a QB plan, this has gotta be the highest percentage of drifters I can remember. Daniel Jones is probably sitting pretty now as I can't imagine the Giants want to jump in that carousel at the moment.

I really struggle to figure out where he'll go. Carolina and Indy are now past the retread route. Houston too close to drafting one, but it's possible, but I just doubt Carr says yes. It's hard to believe he's that big of an upgrade over Tannehill, so I can't see TEN. Seattle still just would be shocking to see them not retain Geno. I feel like it's either Washington or Atlanta will be the Carr/Garropolo destinations. But the other team I guess could be the Jets, but they are probably more Jimmy G. It's going to be a wild year for QBs. I kinda feel like Brady goes to SF too, something weird like that.

second base wasn't really the place we were gonna help with our handedness issue. Benintendi, Colas need to join a resurgent Grandal/Moncada to really make a dent.

I don't think there is wasting money this year, and I doubt many get a long term deal given the glut of good RBs on the market. But yeah I kinda want to get that free agent tampa corner and cement gordon as a slot corner where I think he can shine with his size. But only if we can get a good tackle and at least some passable edges.

You really need a guy with that killer mentality as your number 2 for it to be successful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sox re-start jose Rodriguez in AA again. He was super hot in late Jul-Aug, but had no power prior. If he shows it again, then great. But clearly they don't expect him to be able to spell time for sox the first few months, whereas Alberto could. You then have Burger-Alberto-Sosa in AAA and Romy is either up with the club or can continue to work on his versatility in OF/IF play.

So officially Kevin Warren as Bears prez. Not surprising, when these things leak it's usually close to the finish line as more parties get brought in (contracts, referrals, vetting). Hope he's good, I wanted someone from Liberty Media and the Braves but getting someone from NFL/Football who can handle stadium construction funding and all that's involved is a plus for the McCaskeys.
