  1. Blows my mind that Beverly was at my high school as a freshman while I was there and didn’t know it.
  2. Some thoughts: - Mieses is friggen huge - Every regular looked at a much better weight - Cronins control isn’t amazing but has swing and miss stuff. Andrew Perez is so close to putting it together but still makes so many mistakes. Not sure it will ever happen with him. But man he looks the part.
  3. This guy had .823 Slugging last year?!
  4. Unfortunately these rule changes now make Manfred greatest commissioner of all time.
  5. Love the pitch clock. Man why did this take so long
  6. Holy s%*# had no idea all these guys were in the padres org
  7. Matt carpenter was Barry bonds for 40 games on the Yankees last year and I had no idea
  8. It would be really nice if we found yoelki made a jump in approach. Really love his center field. I think last spring showed his mature instincts. Just need a guy that can give you 85 wRC+. Colas/ Cespedes and vera had such extreme breaks in middle of their development. I’m not ruling out a later bloom for any of em
  9. I think the perfect version of baseball for me is going to be pitch clock plus Ball/strike challenges with human umps still.
  10. I forgot youtube.tv dropped mlb network ? I figured it’d be resolved by now
  11. I hope so but I've decided just to not expect Liam this year and be pleasantly surprised. just want him cancer-free first.
  12. If I were to take the optimistic side of any one player now...with the opportunity in front of him I'd say we may be talking about Lopez as one of the best closers in the game in july.
  13. Since the malaise of chicago sports has me firmly planted on the bears... does anyone else have scenarios they think objectively are bad ideas but also can't help but think they could be awesome to watch? For me it's the scenario of a deep to the teens trade back that ends up netting Bijan Robinson and then also getting Jalen Hyatt with one of two second rounders. You'd hope that you'd added a mcglinchey and a powers and patrick provides a center that's worthy. And your defense will still be bad. And you are using a 1 on a RB which there is just too much expensive positions to fill thru fa. But an offense that had Fields/Bijan and then adds the speed of hyatt for just launching deep routes for fields...would be definitely a different offense than we've seen. It's hard to imagine Hyatt ever becoming a true number one since in the red zone he's a lot easier to neutralize. But watching that guy...saying he'll run a 4.2 doesn't do justice for how much faster on the field he seems than the other teams. And SEC cornerbacks are not slow. A month ago I would have said TN's offense is bad to go after receivers for, but...sometimes you can outthink yourself and it just seems like it'd be nice to have a guy that's the fastest on the field.
  14. It is but it's currently a mediocre receiver group and Woods is not going to be paid much after this year.
  15. If russ was a top 5 qb for them it would have been fine. Everyone was wrong that Caroll was "holding him back" and they should let russ cook and all the nfl hot thought. Carroll clearly did a good job hiding Russ's weaknesses and giving him better improv receivers than timing ones like Jeudy. Denver had a ready made defense for a championship and a young locked up receiver core, also a well thought of Oline. The combo of trading for Russ and handing the reigns to Hackett has to be among the worst 1-2 punches in history. But Payton to date has made everything work on offense so maybe it won't matter. SHows the value of willing ownership vs. what a certain chicago man provides.
  16. That said, Mulkey has grown on me so I probably listen to it more than with Hanley. Not a fan of their producers either.
  17. I have always felt like all of haugh's garbles basically boil down to "why didn't you run the touchdown play"
  18. I think it’s more about the home coming stuff. Chicago high school basketball has a big following locally and those groups love seeing them on the bulls.
  19. This new Score host standard of implying you know things but not saying them is such bullshit. Im not surprised by the TA comments. Mentioned it before but the front office being such cowards in their availability with fans have hung the players out to dry to receive the bulk of the anger.
  20. I’d imagine bears will call on Robert woods. Excellent blocker and will be year 2 after ACL
  21. He’s better than our 4th option in the minor leagues. Amazing argument.
  22. Poetic justice will be when we sign manny machado to a 1 year $15M deal with $10 mil team option for his age 36 and 37 seasons and send out marketing emails
