Music and more Music
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Did you just call Dark Twisted Fantasy "slim"? It's one of the best rap albums of all time and I would say it's arguably his best with only College Dropout in the mix. You need to chill, sit back, and think about how people use the word slim in the context of criticism of an album having a bunch of filler, and how I would probably not be the first person to start saying "that album as slim" as slang for sucks. That said, DTF did have more songs on it than I remembered, but it seemed post late registration his albums stayed consistently around 10 songs.

Orioles DO NOT Sign Fowler
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 08:15 AM) Some reports out that Fowler is seeking 3/45 http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles...0217-story.html I think this stands out to me. WIth previous "bargain hunting" we've seen that the actual contract delivered ends up quite a bit hired than the "they can be had for x" numbers. 3/45 is probably right for him, but, I was never a big Fowler fan. He is, without a doubt, certainly an upgrade, though.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) If we somehow got Okafor to come back home, I'll pick him up from the airport. I guarantee you that that is 0% false. I have zero connections in Bulls, but I have watched them operate for 25 years.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) It amazes me how Cowley could even have a source within that org. LOL Cowley actually had me cracking up the other day. He was on with Bernstein and he was pretty much saying how the Bulls send him hate mail when he writes a negative article about them and threaten lawsuits at times. Pretty hilarious how he has no regard for what people think of him or how he isnt afraid to become and enemy to a team instead of a yes man. I never liked Cowley to much but I respect that part about him. Yeah, it seemed like a show when he was with Sox to parlay it into a bigger gig and to be Marriotti. But, honestly, I kind of admire it too. It's annoying. I can't read it. But he is the only beat writer in Chicago who beats out national reporters.

Orioles DO NOT Sign Fowler
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) I've been chanting patience as much as anyone, but if Fowler signs for 2 years $20 million with Baltimore, and Hahn doesn't have something else up his sleeve, I will be more than a little perplexed. The only thing is that 2 for 20 seems rather casually used. I feel like if we dug into it we'd find those rumors coming from speculation or a dubious source. I thought Fowler would cost 16 million and demand a 3-4 year deal. Two for 20 is fantastic, if we want to move a different directoin that's a contract where you can easily move. That's all I've wanted in this OF chase. Someone that is absolutely a starter for 3-4 years, or someone we can easily pivot from (ala AJax)

Orioles DO NOT Sign Fowler
QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Have to disagree on that one. Markaikas is a much better fielder seeing he did win the gold glove in 2014 i believe. His defense has slipped but would be the best left or right fielder on this team by far. Plus the 377 OBP would be great in the 2 hole. He knows how to handle the bat very well. Who cares about his lack of homers but he can probably hit 8-12 in this ballpark but if he hit 3 and batted what he did last year it would be a big boost for us. And he did hit 38 doubles last year. Ive been on the Markaikas band wagon for months now. . Love to have him on the field and in clubhouse. Listen gold glove follower...

Bell is likely going to have to go independent and give people a chance to scout him. Shame given age, I wish him best.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Such a shame that he was just wasted in his prime. The guy just was a wrecking machine and the Sox never really had that true contender feel again after the strike Even worse that he got injured in 05 after he was hitting homers left and right in June.

If Fowler truly is going for 2/20, I relaly would like us to pay that and give up our comp pick.

I would rather play Avi than Markakis.

Orioles DO NOT Sign Fowler
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) They better find someone else on offense, as they currently have no platoon partner for LaRoche. In very small sample size, looks like Jerry Sands could be a hitter for Lefties.

Define early. Teams rarely even need a fifth starter the first 6 weeks.

They need to make a change. They've now had a flu nearly kill a player with a bad spinal tap, and now an appendectomy gone wrong. They need to very publicly make a move. This looks horrible.

I don't think so, Leno was good and he's cheap. I think they'd rather either sign a RT and swing Long back to guard, or shore up their interior. The #1 priority is going to be ILBs, WR depth and DE

Yeah, I think he's fine. He's definitely a starter in MLB, but, would just be super mentally draining. We could get him for peanuts thou.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 11:33 PM) My thoughts exactly. It was good and has potential, I'll keep watching. I do worry that the murder will be an unnecessary distraction. Seems like there's plenty of other places in the plot where the show could develop drama/intrigue/conflict. I said the exact same thing to my wife. Show was interesting enough without a murder.
