  1. Fed raises rates, projects inflation below target through 2018.
  2. I can't believe Fernandez coming of TJ and a not so good recovery is going to get such a massive haul. I still think Sox, even with this trade, may be better with trading Quintana, faster.
  3. I'm glad you did. The only thing is if it turns out Cespedes market isn't red hot, I think the Mets take him back.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:45 PM) I agree. That's why signing Upton, Cespedes, and Gordon is a MUST. All three may be excessive, but I unno.
  5. I'd take Heyward but to each his own, still like deal. I hated the thought of getting Frazier but at this price...can't complain. I still think it's 2017 for us for playoffs though.
  6. It's understandable. The white sox media didn't pay attention at all to the white sox after july save for trayce thompson. I was listening to inside the club house, and they were talking about how terrible eaton was, but how the sox have a future in trayce and saladino. They just don't care, and people knew trayce. Also, I hope Trayce has a great career and we see him on the southside again eventually.
  7. I hold the opinion that the sox are not committing one way to another, and it's slowing down their timeline. That said, as someone who thinks we should trade away quintana and believes we'll be closer to a playoff race in 17, this trade is fine. It doesn't really prevent us from anything. I believe Montas could be a fantastic bullpen piece, and I thought trayce could start. But its telling that last years horrible team still was reluctant to commit to those players as starters. One, that is a failure of patience to actually let this develop. but two, it's because they are, at a ceiling, players you could live with. The main thing we lose by trading away montas, trayce and micah is the ability to trade them again. I preferred we held our players until we knew we were one piece away. But I'm shocked this package got Frazier. I would be pretty pissed if we had todd frazier, and we did not get back one player that I could be like "this is likely to be a starter on a good team." On the flip side, I hate people diminishing Trayce just cause he left. He has high upside. He worked hard, got to the big leagues and performed. He's just very risky. But, I had not penciled in any of these players long term. I wanted to let them play to roll the dice on succeeding at development, but I viewed all of them as replacement players.
  8. I have to say, I find this deal fair, and it makes a lot of sense. I'm nervous, because every deal Hahn made that has been fair and makes sense has been a disaster.
  9. I'm surprised people think Sox gave up too much. Those were three players that had a mixed bag of thoughts on being starters, let alone plus starters. Whose ready for hero worship posts though?!?!
  10. QUOTE (ypres @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) I don't like this. If we really only gave up Montas/May that's really great. Waiting for the Anderson shoe to drop.
  11. Wow, kudos to Hahn ([green]this post was made before we learned we traded Fulmer and Anderson[/green]
  12. Wow, interesting news. I actually have no idea who the fit is. Can we just say "oh and can you take Avi Garcia?"
  13. I am glad article was written. I keep thinking about Quintana. He's a fantastic player. In my head, I keep trying to prove out whether this team will be a playoff team faster with or without Quintana. I'm leaning without. I have no confidence that we can build out our offense through FA, and through trades will compromise building up a deep rotation. He is the only piece that could bring back more as the sum of the parts.
  14. Why did I read reviews. Ugh. Actually read two reviews that took me down a peg.
  15. Honestly I'm not sure that's the point of the podcast.
  16. Bobby Portis can barely see the floor and people are asking about Bairstow?
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 01:59 PM) It's the Bulls. It would be very difficult for them to realistically make an offer that would outbid any NBA team. Not that they can't, but that they won't. Right, I'm not entertaining this anyway, but with the picks the Celts now have, they can get any star forcing a trade.
  18. It is going to be very difficult to outbid the Celtics.

    2015 TV Thread

Ha, I jumped right into season 2 so I think i lost a lot of that stuff. Was a fantastic season of TV.
  20. "speaking of which, i feel that in Q system, they, the goalie, dman and forwards are really needed to make a successful team in this era and it all has a domino effect to winning. " So the ... team
  21. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) Their franchise could possibly turn around pretty quickly if they get Simmons this draft. I think it would be kind of funny if they got #4 and Skal was the BPA thoug. Right, and they have had pretty bad luck in the lottery.
  22. Yeah, this thread will allow spoilers starting Thursday. However, keep this in this thread, do not write int he films thread, those will be deleted.
  23. It's amazing with all of the top picks the 76ers have had, you look at that team and say "wait who did they draft?". Having them play without NBA players is killing the development. Noel will probably be a really good piece on a championship team (talking bench).
