2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 10:22 AM) I really don't know how good the Packers D is supposed to be. I think they are middle of the NFL at best. Plus they had three starters out yesterday. Yeah, I'd imagine your run d may be terrible which may have contributed to bears success. But there's been many a year where the packers run d was terrible but Bears decided to try to pass into it and get sacked to high hell.

Texas needs a coach good at politics who can handle the demands of keeping the rich boosters happy as well as coaching and recruiting.

http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/20...3/curious-index So it looks like the biggest texas booster has canceled his suite the rest of the season. Looks like their AD will be out soon, which means Charlie Strong likely won't be there next year. Can't say I don't enjoy this, but I do feel bad for Charlie Strong. I'm sure he'll have a rich-rod like resurgence elsewhere.

I wish the bears SBNation site was better. They produce a lot of content, but it's so much like a ... cbs broadcast. Their jokes are horribly unfunny and it just seems older. Certainly takes a back seat to the white sox, bulls and mizzou one. Spent all weekend laughing at every day should be saturday, then you go to the Bears site and it's just. ..blech.

SEC Qb play is terrible outside A&M and Dak. Nobody has stepped up to replace some of the big shoes from 2 years ago with Murray/Manziel/McCarron/Franklin/Shaw/Mettenberger/ and even Wallace and Marshall seem a step above here. Maybe Dobbs will end up being tops in league, but everyone looks pretty crappy (until Drew Lock takes over world)

3 majors, 4 finals appearances, and 1 conversation about how disappointing Novak is. I'm pretty bummed though, Roger looked on fire this tournament. I don't think I'll see another Federer major.

Watching Chris Carter praise off the field advice Jameis Winston is getting and how mature he is seems really tone deaf in light of the video of Carter that came out

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 11:03 PM) It's last year's team with different strengths on defense. I haven't decided if that's good or not yet. Defense still looks great (the early turnovers seemed to mask that), but the offense is still a mess. O-line looks worse and we have no RB depth thanks to injuries. Also, those 2 TD catches by Houston were out of this world. If that's how you have to score a touchdown then the defense did its job. Last years team could run the ball and had dynamic returner.

So, Missouri won, but... Pretty sure this offense will be miserable again.

Well...I wonder if losing to Arkansas st will feel better or worse than Indiana. I'd guess worse.

9/11 vs Minnesota Twins
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 08:09 AM) Jones was outstanding on his return but he has really come back to earth. I think we should be a bit understanding here.

European Refugee Crisis
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 02:25 PM) At least our black athletes can play without having bananas thrown at them or entire cheering sections chant monkey noises. I've yet to see a college student section unveil a huge banner with Nazi symbolism. I never said America is perfect, but you can't deny it's much better than much of Europe in handling diversity. The main reason is that America has been dealing with it for hundreds of years, so it has improved over time. Most European countries are still very homogeneous, so any change or diversity scares them. I'm not saying Europe is a higher standard than US, but I am saying we shouldn't pat ourselves on the back considering the xenophobic themes in our current election in situations much more favorable than certain euro countries. But yes, I agree with all of the above, Europe has a huge problem right now.

European Refugee Crisis
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) Sure but a lot of Europe is shockingly racist and xenophobic, even more so these days due to the global recession. I mean, you've got openly fascist and racist parties getting seats in government in Greece, controlling the government in Hungary, and getting 18% of the vote for President in France. Yes, but to say we are ahead of those countries is only because our own immigration border issues are so much simpler and smaller in scope. If we truly had same constant issues of African + Middle eastern immigration that germany faces i'm pretty sure it would be just as bad.

European Refugee Crisis
BTW if we were talking about 1,000,000+ immigrants I do think planning and hesitation is warranted, but we are talkinga bout increasing our input from 10k to 50k.
