    QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) From the article: Sigh, already a projected #2 without a pitch thrown.
  2. ohhh. yeah. Not sure who would want thornton.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 08:34 PM) Some rumors Cavs about to announce major trade. If it is Klove, Lebron can just head on down. Gulp.
  4. Also, all that craptalking about their PGs last season. Do we really believe Napier will be significantly better than Chalmers in year 1?
  5. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 07:10 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 11m heres story on ligament issue thats delayed aiken deal. astros said to seek $1.5M discount to $5M. http://cbsprt.co/1mBvHx7 Man this is brutal. I feel bad for all parties involved.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) They haven't fully renounced bird rights on Lebron, Wade, Bosh. As long as it is those guys they bring back in, they go back fully over the cap and thus eligible for MLE. However, if the player is someone like Melo, then they would not be in that position and would not have access to the MLE (as they would be under the cap). Say Bosh leaves. This would then just count against the cap then, right?
  7. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) McRoberts to the Heat. Full mid level exception, 4/23 Aren't the heat $50 million under the cap? How do you get a mid level exception when you are under the cap?
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 07:59 PM) Wait, so Knicks are moving Amare? Wow, if that is the case, can they make a run at LBJ? That would only put them about 4-5 mill under cap. I have to say, I"m pretty impressed at how Phil has done getting rid of the dumpster fire contracts the Knicks had. If I'm him, I wonder if he's kind of hoping Carmelo leaves so he can start fresh. I still like Phil Jackson a lot, not surprised his mind could figure out the GM world.
  9. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 06:59 PM) But whatever they get, if after the deal we call the Rangers and offer Leury Garcia straight-up for their Rios return they'll laugh us off the phone. This is basically how I feel.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) I think they are able to match whatever offer Parsons gets, whether they're over or under the cap. The thing is, if they give Bosh $24 million a year and match Parson's $12 million offer, they'd be $5 million over the luxury tax. Also, signing Bosh is dependent on the Rockets' ability to get rid of Lin's contract. They HAD a deal in place for Lin to sixers (reportedly), you have to wonder if that's still there with this reported Amare to 76ers deal.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 05:48 PM) I don't see the appeal in the Lakers at all. They suck. Kobe and Nash can't stay healthy. Gasol's not that good anymore and he might not even re-sign. Julius Randall's a nice piece, but he's a rookie. They don't have a center. So yeah...great roster. Even NY's a better situation. I like Randle, it's annoying though that Woj's foot injury report turned out to be false, that cost him a couple million. But he still does have foot injury concerns, never fun for a big.
  12. Not even Marvin Williams, now it's Josh McRoberts.
  13. I highly doubt the club would not be competitive for international FAs in November because of the rookie contract of Beckham, Dayan, and the money that would be off the books anyway for Dunn. I was all for tanking as hard as possible last year and trading off lots of assets, but this year I just am not enticed at all by trading away young players who are not being forced off team yet by prospects to get some C- prospect and little-to-no salary relief. We got essentially nothing for 1.5 seasons of Alex Rios, at the deadline, to a contender. As below to possibly above average as Dayan is, the scarier thing to me is we have nothing coming up that has shown it could improve upon that.
  14. Ah, yes, the return for Tank and Beckham is going to be enormous.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Welcome to last week... He's saying that Wade would not have opted out of the guaranteed cash if he felt Lebron might not return.
  16. I texted. Waiting now for thousands of spam texts to hit my phone.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) Rodon is an idiot if he won't sign for $6 million. First of all, there is a huge risk that he doesn't get that much next year. Secondly, he puts off arbitration and free agency by a year, and that easily eats up the $250K or whatever he's quibbling over now. Boras is trying to bluff the Sox into raising their offer, but there is no good reason for the Sox not to call their bluff. If Rodon is the kind of guy who will walk away from $6M, then he is not the kind of guy I want on my team. In Boras's defense, if Rodon isn't intrigued by starting in MLB this year, there is no reason not to bluff. They have time to sign, they can continue along not signing this offer and see if Sox go overslot.
  18. Oooo I can't wait until the sox trade off useful MLB assets for nothing!!! Rebuilding is so fun!
  19. Actual reporter Aggrey Sam with a nice rundown of things: http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/bulls-adju...fly-free-agency Nice in regards to the info and writing. Crappy in regards to the sentiment. Bulls FO has virtually given up on Love. Also, surprised Lance Stephenson isn't even being mentioned. His market is remarkably small. I get that he's crazy, but...you'd think there'd be some interest there.
  20. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) After seeing Lebron shut down Rose a few years back I think it's possible he could play the 2. Okay, so Wade plays the 3?
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) Steven A's report is the first one that worries me. I could very well see Bosh headed to Houston and Melo in Miami. Strange fit to bring in Melo to play 3 and Lebron to 4 or vice-versa. Bosh did all the dirty work for that team that will be missed.
  22. I'm very bummed to say the least.
  23. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) At PG, Rondo > Bricky Scrubio. I also want to get this off my chest with all the latest reports of whether Rose recruited Melo or not...I'm I the only guy who actually respects Rose for wanting to beat other elite players instead of trying to create a superfriends team? I guess I'm old school but MJ never tried to recruit his friends Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing to play on the same team. That team would have won every year. I loved the fact that Magic, Bird, MJ, 'Nique, Isiah Thomas, Sir Charles, Karl Malone etc wanted to beat each other, not join forces. It's this new NBA culture of trying to create a stacked team so it won't be as hard to win, LeBron left a back to back 60 win Cavs team because he decided it was too hard. MJ didn't leave the Bulls after they kept losing year after year vs Detroit. It made him that much more determined. I love Rose' old school attitude because that's what it is. He just needs to stay healthy, that's out of his control though. This Bulls team with a healthy Rose is a contender, we still need a scoring wing but the Mavs and the Spurs showed us you don't need a top heavy team to win. In b4 Melo decides to stay in NY, screw him. In this scenario, Rondo is spun for assets in 3 team deal.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 10:57 PM) Hype/story-driven machine for LA is in full swing. Still makes zero sense over the Bulls. It really doesn't, and worse nobody seems to be questioning that the lakers are still a bad team with Melo. So he takes less money to go to a mediocre team in harder conference, because of 34 year old pau gasol and 36 yo Kobe, because they would build around the. 32 yo Carmelo when they are gone? I don't fault melo for going back to NYC, I don't think it's just about the money and he genuinely loves being the star ball player in the city. But if he signs with Lakers to play with Gasol, I once again will be go smacked that everyone else's assets ARE ALWAYS BETTER than Chicagos. Not just Bulls, same with Sox.
  25. Great match. Major finals recently have been fairly anticlimactic, leave it to Roger to bring back the epic finale in Wimbledon.
