  1. There's no way the restrictions of their contracts would hold up while the owners are refusing to honor their contracts and pay them.
  2. I'm sorry, yes, I restored to factory settings. Haven't fooled around with it much, yet.
  3. If the sox want more attendance, lower the ticket prices.

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) I'm 2 hours 1-way on a good day. Between 2.5 and 3 on bad days. I think it's a pretty good reason. If I could find a place that's only 1 hour away, I'd be happy. Holy s***.
  5. I stopped reading halfway up. But if the players truly found some investors for their league, and acted serious about it, the owners would cave in a heartbeat.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) That's awesome! Just be prepared for the outrageous housing costs! You're a smart kid...just move your ass out there with her and hit the pavement and you'll find something soon enough. Yeah, we don't know how long this is going to be. But, moving from all our friends and family to another city is going to be socially rough, so we'd much rather live in san fran then a cheaper alternative, unfortunately. I'll stay back for a month or two to find a job before moving. It'll help to now be focused. In what we thought would happen, i'm currently interviewing with a job in nyc. But they are based in Sf so I'm hoping they'll like me enough to find something for me.

I"m not an engineer. I have experience in operations, editing, customer interaction, liaising with development/marketing/sales, and some copywriting. I feel comfortable selling myself in a digital marketing role as well.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) I keep getting an error that says my phone was unable to be restored at the end... I did too, i just did a complete iPhone restore since i'm WFH. That worked.

My GF is close to getting a really good job in sf. I'm blanketing the area with resumes but don't have many contacts.
  10. Yes, I'm sure no tv station on earth would try to get the rights to that.

Does anyone live in San Francisco on this board? (Bay area, i should say)
  12. No, I don't buy it. The cubs have a good media machine, but nowhere near the heights of being in the AL East and having ESPN all over you.
  13. I ordered 1491 and 1493 together, and received 1493 first, and the 1491 still hasn't even shipped. So I switched distributors, and this one still hasn't shipped. It's a conspiracy.
  14. Ah, man, marcus robinsons one game against the vikings was so great.
  15. QUOTE (toasty @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:50 AM) This is why Frank may not be the best choice for a hitting coach That should be obvious. Frank by all accounts was an abrasive and selfish teammate for most of his tenure, at worst. At best, he certainly just seemed to have difficulty communicating effectively with people, or at least relating. Neither are good qualities for a coach. As a consultant? Fine, but not full time hitting coach.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) It would suck for your player/manager to get thrown out arguing a call and not only lose your manager but also lose your starting first baseman. Delegation couldnt prevent that kind of hole in your lineup That's margins. Plenty of successful managers get thrown out very, very few times a year.
  17. That's the most compelling article to date, but I'd like a pie graph of the amount of time a surly manager needs to spend with the media and a star player.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) Then why even bother making him manager. Why even bother having an offensive coordinator? Run the clubhouse, lineups, strategy, big in game decisions. Lean on your pitching and bench coach. It sounds real familiar to an actual manager.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 11:23 PM) There's enough to worry about as a hitter yet alone having to think about making managerial moves in game. Delegate. And taking paulie's mind off of his at bats might make him even better.
  20. I honestly don't understand why people think that is so insane. I think it's insane that that practice went extinct. But I see no reason to believe Robin would be any better today than had he started managing and playing his last two years, ditto girardi.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Rumor has it the Indians might decline the option on Grady Sizemore due to repeating knee injuries. now we're talkin.
