  1. but a big thing was his babip was so low because Yoan was no longer hitting the ball hard. Now he is.
  2. yes white sox should try to get good players. Love the debate that this is bad.
  3. this is the kinda stuff that's fine in small doses because he was not having success on FBs at all for a long time. Where he had success in 2021 it was hangers, good plate discipline, and making enough contact. Now he's finally turning on fastballs.

    let's get a playoff surge!
  5. I couldn't have been lower on Yoan in May/June when it was now a forever trend that he could not hit velo or fastballs. And this tracks the big improvement we started to see from him after the lows: This is great info from Josh Nelson and he cohosts with our y2jimmy. What a big deal it would be to get closer to 2019 Yoan back.

Boy, can’t wait to get the draft class into ACL pronto. Will say aside from Barrero who has his fans, decent year from 20 yo Luis Pineda who was a decent signing bonus but spent multiple years in DSL. Finding some decent power.

looks like there was a rainout in DSL. No hit in 1.1 innings. Pathetic!
  8. Oh no we'd only have him for the entire competitive window
  9. Everyone can rest easy, the teams we are ostensibly competing against are about to add a top 3 player in baseball, but we can sign a bum ass conforto for next year in hopes he is good value.

I'll give him this, he doesn't hit ground balls. But if we go after underperforming hitters I'd rather have upside power.
  11. Putting Perez below hackenberg feels like you are trolling me smh
  12. This year I've been happily in let-it-ride mode and not as worried about rankings. I'm not gonna think too hard here, just gonna put my fingers on the keyboards and see how it falls 1. Colson Montgomery 2. Lenyn Sosa 3. Noah Schultz 4. Christian Mena 5. Norge Vera 6. Bryan Ramos 7. Peyton Pallette 8. Oscar Colas 9. Jose Rodriguez 10. Sean Burke
  13. Completely out on conforto
  14. Adding Juan Soto to the Sox makes us the angels got it. What are we now?
  15. He's a big giant man that's hitting 60% ground balls when he plays. He doesn't need to be josh donaldson but he needs to get more fly balls.
  16. or preller asks you about a recently signed 16 year old ? but if sox aren't going to try to use Eloy correctly, give him to someone who will in exchange for parts to get the un-fuck-uppable Juan Soto.
  17. I know that's what Boras said, but I don't think that's what it will take. The Nats have an extremely strong relationship with Boras. They didn't give that contract to boras thinking he'd sign. They did it for ass covering. They offered a record breaking contract, and a strong offer. They knew before it was offered that wouldn't get it done. Now they get to say "hey, we tried, he said no" and boras gets to say "we said no to this extremely high number". But would soto turn down the apples to apples numbers o what I did? I highly doubt it.
  18. Cueto Cease Kopech Lynn Trade Acquisition Martin | Lopez
  19. The yankees are on pace for like 120 wins. They aren't going to play around like that when they are the yankees and everyone else are not.
  20. k yes I'm guessing the lack of depth in AA/AAA has definitely raised alarms, but I don't know I'd also get easy comp pics.
  21. The yankees would never do that lol. The yankees may very well get soto, but they aren't trading out Judge this year.
  22. I remember same was said about Betts. "He's testing FA no matter what!" We know what Soto wants. He just turned down an offer to get the most guaranteed money of all time. He said no. He wants guaranteed money + highest AAV. He wants precedent. Boras wants precedent. You give him 13 years $475 gives you 36.5 Mill / yr and highest guarantees ever. It doesn't beat Scherzer but we know that. Does that get it done? You may need to go to 13 years $500 mill ($38 mill). That gives you the WOW round number. That gives you the highest position player AV. I guarantee he doesn't turn that down and goes for FA with 2 years riding on health.
  23. You can't give up Popeye, he's our future
  24. I would say no, but my grand plan is not to trade eloy but instead Giolito and then go after Perez, in the hopes we sign a pitcher in 2022-3 class which looks great. And trade Giolito + for pieces to get Soto, and then trading Eloy to get Perez all feels like too much of a shakeup. But if sox go to Giolito and say this is our best long-term offer, and he declines, you can then trade him. I mean...I'd trade him to the Mariners.
