  1. I thought this too but I was listening to maybe soxmachine and the thought would be to start spacing him out where possible to remove a scheduled start or two for inning reduction.
  2. I still wish they would IL kopech and use Martin this month. Last year they seemed to completely forget about restrictions on Rodon, Kopech. I don't really see them having learned a whole lot yet.
  3. You wouldn't trade Montgomery for Juan Soto?
  4. Basically there's no reason not to be excited by what Chapelli is doing. But there's also no reason to care whether he's ranked highly enough either. Game power is always cool, I don't care if he's 2 years older, Grandal didn't go to AA and hit 15 home runs in 4 games. He hit 7 home runs in 3x the games last time he played at 18. Now he's at 8 in 26 or something. If his bat can make contact in higher levels and he is a 10-15 hr guy, that's a very nice 2b prospect.
  5. Robert was also a sculpted adonis with 70 grade speed at the time, and Chapelli is 5'8. I'm also unclear if DSL has better competition now with the consolidation of the minor league affiliates or if it's worse. But I doubt he has seen real velocity yet. That said, he had a year off and this looks good. Look forward to his next move.
  6. Bennetti “And that ball is Claunched”
  7. This is true but If you compare that trade to what’s being bandied about in, for example, that athletic article it is helpful. Teams aren’t going to send out an entire team. The Sox in their trades made a standard of top hitter and top pitcher prospect. But they sacrificed backend talent to get there. Rizzo has very good scouts, and I also wouldn’t be surprised if their evals are much different.
  8. I don’t understand how you write up the white Sox draft and forget their best pick
  9. Good amount of mizzou guys drafted today
  10. looks like he had a big jump senior year. Definitely a bummer reading some of these guys stats. There is a big fat noticeable 2020 missing. Who knows if he makes this jump his junior year had he not missed 2020 and finds himself in the top ten rounds. But also a lot of the guys today have big K numbers, so not expecting too much. Kanny kinda weeds that out.
  11. And this is on! https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2022/07/19/chicago-to-host-first-ever-nascar-cup-series-street-race-in-2023/ You nailed the course.
  12. oh nvm. I missed this. Altermatt was the SS for his team and switched to pitcher. He's drafted as a pitcher: https://www.mankatofreepress.com/sports/local_sports/msus-altermatt-kline-thriving-as-two-way-players/article_80abec68-b08a-11ec-906f-cba159b77b5a.html
  13. nvm camilletti played last year, Altermatt played this year
  14. Got another northwoods league star https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=alterm000nic Wonder if he played camilletti and lived to tell about it
  15. wow this is what Nagy is up to eh

I feel like every time I see him I have different impressions of his height. Sometimes I'm like "oh he's taller than I thought" then today it's "wow he's short"
  17. I know all of them
  18. sooo booooooring of a day 3 so far
  19. I think i said this last year and then they took that kid out of california who hit 1000
  20. sigh realizing how much our drafts are going to be boring.
  21. He was definitely good in the cape but his k rate also exploded so may be something to watch for in bigger competition.
  22. Seems like the seniors the sox picked have performed well in wood bat leagues. I wonder if we'll hear these guys were good value that got screwed by last years pandemic backup
  23. We got a ranked player again! Brooks Baldwin The Colonial Athletic Association player of the year hit .347/.406/.621 this year, marking the second straight year that he’s posted a .900-plus OPS. The switch-hitter should be able to remain a plus hitter in pro ball, with plenty of bat speed and line-drive oriented swings that produce extra-base hits in the gaps more than home runs. An above-average runner, Baldwin has played second base, shortstop, third base and all three outfield spots. He is best in the outfield, where he has an above-average arm and average range, but he may profile best at second base. Baldwin turned down the Giants in the 15th round last year. He was even better this year, and a strong performance in the Cape Cod League should further help his draft stock.
  24. Baez, C out of ASU, who is a weird utility catcher, goes to MN Twins
