  1. Honestly just do it. Let’s build a powerhouse of IL/IN/Kenosha area prospects
  2. A Cleveland draft pick that’s a strike thrower? Shit.
  3. Yeah these last ten picks I feel like will just be a bunch of gut punches hoping some of these college pitchers we thought about at 26 can make it to 62
  4. Instant analysis from baseball america “Instant Analysis: I'm a big fan of this pick here for the White Sox. They're getting a pitcher who improved his already impressive stuff from a year ago and has mostly been slowed this spring by mononucleosis, not an arm injury. Schultz is 6-foot-9, attacks hitters with a plus fastball from a difficult angle and a nasty slider. Even though he's a long-limbed teenage pitcher, he has the body control that bodes well for his ability to throw strikes. I think there's frontline starter upside, something the White Sox have to be excited to get at the back of the first round in a draft with a lot of question marks on pitching.”
  5. Sheesh I was off about Whisenhunt. 16 more picks to go!
  6. Yeah just really wanted a very solid guy like him in the system. But hey still plenty of college pitchers left I didn’t expect to be there. Now I’m secretly hoping Doughty.
  7. Can’t believe how bad these web cams are this many years into covid
  8. Just would like to say Steve sax is still incredibly handsome
  9. And that’s the next top catching prospect the dodgers will be able to trade for a star
  10. Lol was just about to say for umpteenth draft in a row Im sitting here seething that a team like the Padres and soon cards are getting an extra first and then everyone will say “what a Great Draft they had”
  11. Hmm I liked last years pirates draft more
  12. Seriously, nobody is watching anymore except sickos like us. Speed it up.
  13. Realizing I subconsciously kept associating Dylan Beavers as an OSU outfielder.
  14. I wouldn’t mind a guy like hunter barco and also have a personal attachment to cade doughty
  15. I don’t think selecting Schultz is going to end Longenhagens jokes about how Shirley only selects players within a drive from his house
  16. So much good info there
  17. Why do people mentally store prep failures differently than others? How many shitty college pitchers have we drafted since Honel? Yes prep pitchers have a lower hit rate but at 26 you also get a chance at a real impact pitcher.
  18. The white Sox daily twitter account is retweeting all the Schulz stuff from the year
  19. Oh was he already drafted? I told you all if I made this mistake it’s your fault,
  20. Let’s get the kid from Riverside Brookfield next
  21. No they are just offering him a few million today to play baseball professionally. Guys they aren’t putting a HS in the majors this year.
  22. is difficult to get much more exciting than the tall and lanky, 6-foot-9, 225-pound lefthander. That’s just what Schultz is, and he has that size plus impressive stuff, with a fastball that’s touched 98 mph this spring after mostly settling in the low 90s last summer on the showcase circuit. While Schultz flashed bigtime stuff this spring, he was also not seen frequently, after missing much of the spring season with mono. He draws Chris Sale and Randy Johnson body comps, but unlike your typical tall pitcher who will rely on a longer arm swing for leverage, Schultz has a shorter take back and hides the ball extremely well before releasing from a low, three-quarter slot, adding even more deception to an already tough look for the hitter. While Schultz has impressive body control for his size, he’ll need to fine tune his fastball command as he can be scattered in the zone at times. Schultz has a lot of confidence in his 80-83 mph sweeping slider that can surpass the 3,000 rpm mark. Scouts are impressed with how he dictates the movement and shape depending on the count, adding sweep for the punchout. Capping off his repertoire is an 81-83 mph changeup, thrown mostly to righthanded hitters. Schultz has huge upside, but is expected to be a tough sign out of a Vanderbilt commitment. This was BAs eriteuo
  23. Shirley is a very different drafter than previous Sox SDs
  24. I kinda love it if so. Was hard to read his writeuos and not think “why is projected round 2?”
