So the one precedent we've seen with Shirley in Crochet and Montgomery is them putting a lot of weight in their last look. They saw what Crochet was in March, they went with that. They saw colsons progression in weak team ball, and it paid off. So late risers.etc are guys to keep an eye on i think.

I think if we counted up all the mocks toman probably has plurality, but as you can imagine at where sox are drafting it's a lot more of a crapshoot. One week it's "sox are gonna go college pitching" then its "sox are looking at prep bats". And there has been a few prep pitchers too depending on who falls, so I don't know that there is a single profile that you'd write-off sox going after from what we know now.

I kinda doubt it. I know pitchers like Hill signed long term at Cuetos age, but he found new dominance with a pitch. With Cueto he's just very cueto like, and seems like he can age with it, but feels more like that bartolo colon zone where he'll just be 1 yr deals with a different team each year. But it's possible, Anibal Sanchez really got paid after his big re-emergence. -
Rushing? Kileys track record on Sox picks is atrocious but still good to know.

I believe that line is what is called “projection”

Looks like Krogman is rehabbing in ACL

Feel good story of the day- Roger Bossards grandson has a 2 homer day down in W-S.
-
Didn’t know DSL played 2 today. Chappeli homer in game 2

Exactly. And let’s remember this isn’t a situation where all that matters is you get people that try hard and want to play ball. That doesn’t cut it. Sox are competing with the best orgs in the world for the best talent in the world. And they are acting like they are competing against the best talent in the world.

I don't think any blurbs have given us it. Hopefully he gets to AAA soon and we can find out.

I know we are going to blame JR but KW and Hahn are evp/vp of baseball operations. They should be the ones putting these expenses in context and prioritizing them. But I'm sure in 2027 we'll hear of a development they finally get done and we will be told what ever front office official is in charge should be given credit for modernizing our minor league facilities. Constantly modernizing every backwards operation Hahn oversees is a very big deal. There are people currently overseeing projects that will get the white sox to where other teams were a decade ago.

I continue to be just in shock that Eloy has busted like this. Had never seen a player like him in the minors (Robert happened post-) for the Sox. Just absolutely crushed each level with ease. No K rate issue. Fine BB rate. Huge power. I still worry we’ll give up on him and he becomes Schwarber on another team. Because for whatever reason Hahn feels like we should have an offensive philosophy that plays against our hitters strengths. What DH play even is there? He’s bad offensively.

3 hit night for Ramos, and a double for Sosa!
-
yeahhh I don't think this is happening but if it happened we would all say "of course".
-
That's a great day for Kath. Doubles in both games, 0 Ks. Veras had 3 hits in game 2. Gladney with a 3b in game 1 and 2b in game 2.
-
That's actually a pretty good comp considering how he played Center those first few years and that he was a HS SS right? And I am the anti-comp man. Obviously he blew through the offensive projections, but nobody would ever nail that.
-
Pretty nice day for Kath. NO Ks in 2 games, 2 hits in game 1 and 2 walks in game 2 so far. 25 year old street free agent Hunter Dollander had 7 ks in 4 IP in game 1. What a bummer when I saw he was 25. Sox farm has a lot of milb free agents and udfas this year...a lot.

Obviously ozzie would be a bad manager probably but I'd take his son in the Astros org and him back as 3B coach. And gotta hand it to him, saying ricky renteria without the credentials ON TV for the postgame show is hilarious.

looking back through previous drafts and how players are performing...still gonna say I think soxtalk is a pretty good drafter. A lot of the players we hate suck, and a good number of board favorites are doing good. Big miss on Ed Howard (though I think he was a bit more of a casual draft follow fav). Easy to say now that they are loaded in the top 100s but yeah I think the Cards have become my new fav drafting team. They've taken a lot of my fun 2nd round picks (because the league gives them free picks), but also man the Jordan Walker pick was pretty big time, especially given the pandemic year. Ooof man Adrian Del Castillo just brutal. Was so obvious he wasn't going to cut it, surprised some of the draft sites were so conservative in dropping him down last year. https://www.mlb.com/player/adrian-del-castillo-680728?stats=career-r-hitting-minors&year=2022

I think last year was mostly fine, but I do think they should really push back on a selection like Burke. They paid him like a comp pick, and in absolute terms he got paid similar to Dylan Smith from Alabama and they were rated highly. But the Tigers only go slightly over for Smith, while the sox have to go way over for Burke. There are just so few college players getting overslots near where Burke got it. You have to be so so much higher to prioritize him that much. Colson was slot. It wasn't Kath alone that really screwed them, it was Kath + Burke putting them at 1M deficit. They could have punted their 3rd and had a few more Gosswein level players and still been able to afford MacDougal. But Gosswein + Burke and in general just feels like sox have had to pay a lot of overslot deals to college players that just doesn't seem that common looking at other team lists. 2020 I think it's easy to criticize now with Kelly's failure to launch so far, and it was a weird year...but it was clear the minor leagues were headed for a cliff of talent, the draft dropped to only 5 rounds...I don't think it was the year to make that move. I mean Adisyn coffey is awful in A ball and Kade Mechals may never play. Obviously horn paid off nicely, but jeeze, just too big of a hole.

I'm so confused by that box score, but I think that is just last nights game that will finish today at some point.
