  1. Haven't been able to watch this game, but wanted to bring up a game several years ago vs. cleveland, where there was some humidity or weird pressure system, and after the opening fireworks of the game, all of the smoke and fog just hung right over the infield. You couldn't see through it at all. anyway two guys got on base and then an infield pop-up could not be fielded. Fun times.
  2. I'm not so surprised, BA always seems conservative with players they haven't really seen. 2-3 years off, etc. I mean I'm a little surprised because that's very low in this system, but he has so few notes in his writeup that are updated, I expect mid-year to be more interesting.
  3. That's awesome.
  4. The good news, brethren, is the savior Carlos Perez is crushing baseballs in Charlotte.
  5. After last year my opinion is not "oh no grandal is not catching enough games in april".
  6. Interested to see whether the wind will blow in or out today. Either way I think we see two Burger home runs, one hitting the Piping Plover in RF.
  7. I know it's a bit scary with his minor league hand injuries but man stealing bases is awesome and robert doing it is the best. That's my take
  8. Then the real criticism should be the sox, who need pitching but haven't kept up with their depth, and can only offer their #3 overall pick for Montas while other teams can capture players with only their 10th through 30th. The As preferences are what happens - our lesser prospects aren't as competitive as what other teams could offer. There's a team that should kick rocks, it's just not the one you are focusing on.

    Go Beard!
  10. So just to make sure I understand your argument is that the As shouldn't try to get a good player for Montas because they have a bad farm and so they should accept worse players from a 30th ranked farm because they already suck? I think that should work. You should pitch that to WBSWF in case Jerry appoints him GM soon.
  11. One thing I'll be interested to see in this is Poles targeted Orlando Brown for the Chiefs, who is an oversized tackle. But this isn't the same offense, that said does he view a guy like Daniel Faalele as capable and undervalued or does he look for completely different lineman for Getsy.
  12. I've been seeing some anti-fegan stuff on this board recently, and this is a reminder that fegan is the best and this is the good stuff:
  13. oh sorry, it was Wilfred Veras dropped out of top 30, so a bit of reshuffling and our 28 and 29 guys dropped back, while Hackenburg stays at 30.
  14. BA update today that added. - Colas slotted at 10, which I don't know if it says more about those ahead of them or less on Colas. - Ramos moved from 11 to 6 - Kelly dropped from 8 to 13 - Romy improved from 15 to 11 - Erick Hernandez moves into 18 - Luna drops out of top 30 Despite two entering I for whatever reason can't seem to find who else dropped out beside Luna.
  15. I would have been pissed too lol. Sucks to suck thou
  16. I also think this narrative is overrated. If he had an excellent defensive position he wouldn’t be subbed as often. If Jose retires after this year it all takes care of itself.
  17. Eh he was unplayable second half of 21. if he’s Ivan Nova for us? Great. But he was giving up 7-8 runs in 2 innings and leaving us to cover our bullpen. Can’t just forfeit every fifth game

Yeah I don’t do nicknames I just add alliteration for fan clubs. One thing with Yolbert and Yoelki is it seemed improbable when they signed that these guys with pretty terrible stats in cuba would be more successful in better leagues. But their bats have played better. Yoelki does have power, Sanchez now even being patient. was that worth so much of our budget? I don’t know, but when paddy puts money on a guy it really is worth paying attention.
  19. That is incredible to steal that game. Also props to the fans and thanks to the weather for getting us through.

It was 28% across Birmingham and Charlotte. Maybe Adolfo being near him raised my tolerance but that isn’t that wild for a Sox prospect. Robert was at 25% in AAA.

It’s only been 4 games. He’s not low contact but he’s not a 40% k rate, he was at 25% last run in AAA. And real power.

Romy just tied it up in the 10th

Seems like a bullpen guy. Meanwhile Mena… great great start. Very encouraging.
