  1. Woops guess I was wrong he got 2 for 50 basically. But I was right he’d get more than $20M
  2. Well, I guessed his contract exactly in my roster resource.
  3. Thinking anyone is the exception will always bite you. But to me it just feels like there are pitchers on the market, and some are older, like Rich hill where you say well he's past 40. And some are younger. And some have a track record, and some have injury, and some don't. And then there are Justin Verlander and Scherzer. There is only one Verlander and only one Scherzer. And I want a Scherzer. I don't just want an ace to pitch in the playoffs. I want Max fucking Scherzer. And I think a bunch of GMs feel that way too. Nice blokes.
  4. I've made a point to try and see any Kershaw starts I can, and I'll speak glowingly of him forever, but I'm really not sure I want an MJ in Wizards moment with him. I don't ever want to count that dude out, but he has not been that kind of pitcher that just seems to piss on old age like a Scherzer/Verlander and their predecessors like clemens, johnson, schilling, etc. Feel like I'm forgetting one.
  5. I would be ecstatic if we got Verlander or Scherzer, but Scherzer would truly be an epic moment in my fandom. MIZ
  6. Well, yes, and I am second-guessing that.
  7. I think Stroman would be good, but yeah, doubt he ever comes back after last year. Sorta feel like a Toronto reunion is gonna happen. Also his twitter feed is, unfortunately, bad.
  8. What percentage likely do you think it was that Rodon accepts the QO. Cause I'd say 5-10%. No one wants to take a one year deal with a potential work stoppage, least of all a guy that hasn't gotten paid yet.
  9. Verlander, Syndegaard were awesome last year.
  10. I agree. I think it's fine they did what they did, but there are risks to everything and it's pretty clear this would have paid off fine. I would say similar risk that Rodon declined the QO as that they can trade Kimbrel. I don't mind what they did, but let's not act like it's whackadoodle to get some value back. We haven't signed shit anyway and the deadline is what, tomorrow? It wouldn't have been some huge wrench in our plans.
  11. Listen I don't get a lot of info but where I do is by looking at the available players and making reasonable assumptions which the sox may also be looking at and that insider info is telling me that they indeed will be interested in the top pitchers, right fielders and infielders on the market, and it may surprise you when you hear the names but I'll never say.
  12. Hell yess totally agree. Hell - if he wants to do the roger clemens treatment I don't mind.
  13. Sox Sign Verlander for 3 Years 95 million with opt outs on the first of every month while he evaluates his future
  14. Def the problem when going after good players.
  15. Sox should move Spring Training back to Florida.
  16. No I'm a reasonable man I just want someone to say the sox playing Spring Training in Arizona was a big factor for me.
  17. One thing that annoys me is how for many free agents it comes out of people like Heyman that they want to make sure ST is in Florida...but on the opposite side it will just be "wants to play for a west coast team". Like they'll play in Detroit so long as Spring Training is in Florida. But anyway spring training in Arizona seems to have zero benefit to west coast peeps for our sox.
  18. The angels being a top 5 destination for seemingly every free agent along with having an owner who spends along with drafting the player of our generation and being able to sign another player of our generation for dirt cheap and still sucking every year is something to behold I tell ya
  19. so many good gems in that article It’s unclear whether or not Segura ever followed the Phillies’ official account, but he doesn’t now, nor does he follow the Phillie Phanatic on Instagram. He still follows the MLB official Instagram account, as well as many of his Phillies teammates, including Bryce Harper, Ranger Suárez, and Rhys Hoskins. As such, it’s hard to imagine he never followed the account of the team he’s played for since 2019.
  20. I. love. the. offseason. And then there’s the quote Segura put in his lone Instagram story. It appears to be the Spanish translation of an Edward Snowden quote: Segura is essentially asking people to value privacy, presumably his. The reason fans think it has to do with being traded rather than a personal matter is the removal of all baseball content from his page.
  21. That would be a nice defensive infield.
  22. Was listening to the mismatch rant about the rockets. Watching the bulls post-Jimmy soured me on that 76ers process, you can't bring young players around all young players just getting their brains beat in and hoping it works. But this is crazy to me. Two Teams in dire straights. The Wizards have an injured 40 million player in Wall and Bradley beal and a circling the drain team. Houston Rockets have MVP James Harden and expensive and disappointing Russel Westbrook last year. Houston gets requests to trade Westbrook, everyone agrees he's just deadweight, good luck! They trade him for John Wall and a future first. They then trade James Harden for 3 firsts and 4 pick swaps, Caris LaVert and another guy. They then send out Caris LaVert (on an affordable 3 year deal) to the Pacers for Victor Oladipo in a trade where Cleveland also gets Jarrett Allen. Oh, they also get a 2nd round pick. Victor Oladipo is now on the Heat. John Wall is averaging 19 and 9 (on 18 shots a night). The Rockets are 1-13. Yeah, they could fall into the next Lebron. Let's flip it. The Wizards had John Wall and Bradley Beal in a situation where it had become Beal's team. Everyone thinks its over. They trade John Wall for Russell Westbrook. Make the play-offs, steal a game from the top seed. Rui Hachimura continues to develop, Beal averages 30+ points. Deni continues to develop. They make a smart trade for Gafford. Then, they send out that untradeable asset Russell Westbrook and 3 second round picks for Caldwell Pope, Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell, and hire long-deserving assistant Wes unseld Jr. The Wizards are the top record in the East behind swarming defense from the three lakers additions and the development of their recent draft picks. Jalen Green will probably be fine. But he's gonna have to deal with a lot of crap. Anyway yeah the rockets seem like idiots hopefully we don't lose our 1st and can get Christian Wood.
  23. Going from Coors to Comerica will be interesting.
