Ok. Gonna take a while to remember these guys but for DSL: Carlos Histrenoza was mentioned by Ben Bailey as a sleeper, was a former ss that converted to the mound and was hitting low 90s. He pitched an inning with 2 Ks and no walks. Dario Barrero was also mentioned by BB. He had a hit. He’s 6’5 and 200 lbs and an OF. lastly Victor Quezada was 0-4, BB called him a power hitting 3b.

I think the mlb guys more than any other draft shows know this may be the big even for these guys and are in on trying to make that special for them.

shirley is clearly confident in their scouting: McDougal, whose father pitched in the minor leagues, isn’t as well known in draft prospect circles because he didn’t play in a lot of the big events, other than the 2020 Area Code Games, leading into his senior high school season. With a solid, projectable frame, McDougal is still very much an intriguing project with a very loose arm that delivers a fastball in the 92-94 mph range, touching 96 mph. His breaking ball, best labeled as a slurve, has a wide range of speeds and can be a plus pitch when he consistently delivers it at mid-80s slider speed. He slows his arm and doesn’t have a lot of feel for an 81-85 mph changeup. He has below-average command, in part because of a delivery with a head whack and plenty of moving parts, which could indicate a future as a bullpen arm, and he doesn’t work out of the windup much. McDougal is committed to Oregon.

Ranked #312 prospect in 2021 draft Gosswein is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound lefthander with big-time sinker life and a four-pitch mix. The 22-year-old will run his fastball up to 95 mph and it sits 90-93 but he profiles as a ground-ball pitcher. He has a slider and a slurvy curveball that both touch average, and the two pitches can blend together. When they do, he can get some swings and misses. The changeup has flashed better than average, making it a solid mix for an athletic southpaw with arm strength.
