  1. Anyone who has watched this team play their asses off and find a way and be a blast almost every night saying "this season is cursed and not meant to be" lmao
  2. I can't believe every single time it has been worst case scenario. Have these dudes ever stretched? Madrigals hamstring is like 4 inches long, how does it tear?
  3. Absolutely and I've been amazed. And maybe it has felt more razor thin than it has been, but we've gotten a lot out of the backups so far, and I'm just worried it will add two black holes to the lineup and what that means. But the sox have done excellent in free agency this year and on the margins, areas where they have been horrendous prior. I'm here for the ride, but acquisitions are totally fun so I'll probably lean in that direction.
  4. To date the sox have been right in being conservative in additions. So I'd get it if they did it again. But obviously I would enjoy an upgrade, this team is too good to take chances on a few too many injuries depriving us of the post season.
  5. I think of teams that are woeful and would trade to a partner now, and are willing trade partners, you'd have to circle the AZ diamondbacks as others have done. The obvious player is obvious. Ketel Marte can play a great centerfield, can play SS and 2b. The obvious player is expensive - even with his upcoming FA. We are at a rough spot for acquiring position players. Not sure how sox could pull that off, but he is an absolute no brainer for getting through the year if you are someone that can isolate how much value he's probably getting back. edit: uhhh and I had no idea he's under team control through '24 so up that price by a ...large amount.
  6. True but you have to factor in how every sox player needs to re-tear it when they are about two weeks from coming back.
  7. I don't know, it's weird. There are a lot of older prospects doing really, really well right now especially in birmingham. Normally that would be inconsequential, but because of last year who knows how teams think of age. We'll know more if any of these guys hold any interest at the deadline. If you are a rebuilding team with roster space in the next few years...what do you make of craig dedelow? Rutherford? Romy? Forbes? Not earthshattering returns but if they've played themselves into fodder for MRP and flex starters that's currency we didn't have. Our high level acquisition currency has really been hurt by the guys we hoped would play into attractive roles struggling. But we also haven't followed young prospects really. Some are still finding power strokes and guys like Jose Rodriguez have held their own. I'd look at guys like Nick Prado, who was absolute garbage offensively his first two years post-draft, and now is absolutely raking in AA. It's much different than when we followed a bunch of college prospects who dominated until they got to A+ and slowly got worse.
  8. Missed that Jared Kelly was shut down with forearm stiffness
  9. That is basically exactly where I imagined it would be. It would be tons of fun.
  10. Zack Collins has retained some value for longer and is very possible he could be traded for something like a middle reliever or other player. Pint can't be traded for anyone as he is retired. There should be some sort of "retained value" metric, because if a guy is good enough to be tried out in the majors even if he sucks it means he has retained some value throughout their minors, even if it would only be a C prospect, that is more value than a guy that is washed out in Single-A. Any attempt to value a draft should really try to break that out.
  11. Yes! We got a board expert! I can't imagine there is a show that has been as impactful as DTS for a sport. But it does feel like racing has a high barrier to entry and as you mentioned the show uses driver drama as the cudgel to bring some of the other more technical parts of it. I feel like if premier league moved from having every team with a docuseries to a league wide show like this it could have similar impact. I have definitely been wondering if Chicago could put something together. Have they ever? It feels like they could put together a pretty good street track with so many wide streets where they could build out stands and fun areas to use around grant and maggie daley park. Show really makes me want to be rich so I can bring a Yacht to monaco though, I gotta tell ya.
  12. Also hell yeah that crowd sounded as loud on the highlights as it was there. Was an absolute blast last night.
  13. Just watched the highlights of Vaughns homer. 97 mph low and away, that is a great beat. Vaughn is gonna put together a hell of a second half, you can just feel him starting to put it together in bits and pieces. Still has long stretches of futility that feel like they are getting more productive and shorter.
  14. Jays are fun. I would be unbelievably frustrated if I was them, they were smoking the ball all over the field and felt like they had a guy in scoring position every inning.
  15. Same except I did a keg stand on the nacho cheese dispenser
  16. Same for almost all this. Lost tennis channel and missed out. One thing that feels similar to tennis is the relationship to the drivers, where I mostly like them all so each race is just seeing how they put it together. I’m going to check out that podcast. My favorite thing that kinda hooked me was learning how they keep updating the car throughout each week. That shit is so boring to my wife and so compelling to me.
  17. Why would I avoid that? Now that I'm with other adults I can finally stand up to those bully second graders.
