  1. https://www.milb.com/scores/chicago-white-sox/2021-05-04 6 pm start times The only known starter I can see is Lambert in CHA. Couldn't find anything from Kanny on who is starting, but that will be the one to watch. holy smokes it has been so long.
  2. Love the April MVP awards. He has been struggling with a back injury. Jackie Bradley Jr has had a better season than Eloy Jimenez, blew me away didn't expect that.
  3. That's pretty impressive considering last years slate vs nl central.
  4. Maybe Cease will be like, a really good batter.
  5. This board complained about Luis Robert being lost 3/4ths of his at bats. My opinions are good.
  6. I do wonder with how Texas specifically wanted Dunning, if they aren't as interested in our young pitchers which could be a hurdle. But yes let's go for it. Gallo is awesome. Awesome players are great. Turn our frowns upside down.
  7. Same, he was the milquetoast kinda selection that was what I hated. But so was McClure. Ben Hansen was listed as the reason for McClure's velo increase, but he's starting to get us some results as they could be legit bullpen/fifth starter guys sooner rather than later.
  8. yeah I don't understand the specifics of it. I don't know - could be either had approval for a specific location? Not really sure how this works, definitely saw it on a beat writers twitter though.
  9. Vera sounds like he'll stay in DR for tax purposes, Cespedes apparently has visa issues.
  10. That's a good one. My players to watch: Kannapolis - all of them W-S - Carranza (had instructs helium), Davis Martin (last time we saw him he was super up and down but sometimes dominant), Freeman (good arm), Bush, Yolbert, Sosa. Birmingham - McClure, Pilkington (reported velo uptick), Adolfo i guess. Carlos Perez. Charlotte - we know the potentially immediate guys, but obviously burger. Hunter Schryver will be nice to see again.
  11. It's not ideal, but if we get 75% of that contract, he is both a legitimate RF option, but also becomes easier to trade if we take on the remaining 75% of the contract, thus having cut his salary in half for the team to offload him (25% from cubs, 25% from sox).
  12. that would definitely be a decent option. Seems like a nice guy too.
  13. My target for Engel to be successful is 90 wRC+. If he can give us that offensively he is a gem. Please get healthy my dude.
  14. Adding $51 million in salary for the next 3 years is also a form of mortgaging the future considering way JR operates.
  15. fortunately it shouldn't take long, if they look stronger and better scouts won't need too long of a track record.
  16. sometimes people fat finger it, it's really not something to get upset about.
  17. This list really is exceedingly small. I think I could circle Keiermeyer, Naquin as possible.
  18. CF is going to be harder to acquire anyone for. There just aren't that many. Maybe TBR trades keiermeyer, is that better than Engel? No idea. Engel may not be a player this year. Is he better than Leury - probably. You could probably improve a corner easier. I'd go after KB, don't care (cowards). Otherwise, my plan A would be to target Cincinnati, see where their heads at. Naquin would be stabilizing. Castellanos salary dump seems possible, but maybe they don't care. We have no idea. Everyone except the tigers is in it right now. Tommy Pham, maybe (very little confidence him being good again). Maybe Dodgers are a big believer in DJ Peters and AJ Pollock becomes available. Those all seem somewhat possible. Gallo seems expensive, but yes, I would trade a package around our young pitchers for him. Honestly I would call Markakis at this point and be like "hey we are getting a bunch of old retired people back together on this team any interest?"
  19. I'm going to be a little lenient on this because who knows what the relationship is like now with the covid protocols, it may have been a lot less monitoring and relying more on players doing the work the last year.
  20. oh great caulfield found the milb forum.
  21. When this came out I just took it at face value (12-16 weeks) and was just firmly committed to still just enjoying this season and reminding myself when a sox year comes together (like yes, even last year) to remember to enjoy it because so many years are like this, where your strength going into the year just gets eviscerated by the baseball Gods. But reading ptatc this is just such a killer. I think it's good to know that uncertainty and he could well recover but it's a huge unknown which is crazy in sports injuries. My biggest thing I keep thinking of is how freakin excited I was last March to watch luis robert play center, and how I have not and may not be able to watch that luis in center ... ever. But maybe this is Robert's Mickey Mantle moment (blown out knee in 51 series where he probably played on a torn ACL for his 17 year career). A setback from the star he was going to be, but still has so much athletic and baseball talent oozing out of every pore that it just reconnects to form a different kind of hall of fame baseball player.
  22. Kinda surprised curbelo is still in org. Was zangari and comas released?
