  1. Personally I'm rooting for lamb, he really is one of the only potential solutions to RHH. It has only been a problem because TLR has made it at the expense of seeing if vaughn could hit righties, and madrigal who has hit everyone. But he is a good addition to spell batters against RHP. If only he could play center.
  2. had a few gut punches, but overall am amazed how many stayed alive. Was really concerned about empty bottle, but it looks like it's through it. Fitzgerald's had a new owner start in march 2020, he's kept it going. My longtime haircutter closed up shop and moved home, which was sad. And it took me a long time to find her, someone who would not talk to me while I was a hostage in their barber chairs while they wielded a weapon.
  3. Nonetheless, nobody was like "oh no we have to face happ he's having a great season". We're going to kick pineda's ass because everyone sucks when they have to face this fucking team.
  4. I don't know what to think this year.
  5. It's been 20% all season so far.
  6. And lastly, Happ has been great for the twins and we crushed him. Pineda has outpitched his peripherals. All this leads up to Billy Hamilton hitting a home run tonight.
  7. I know Jake Lamb has been terrible but he really should play against RHP (I don't know about 2nd). Leury would be 100x more valuable if he hit RHP the way he hits LHP, and he's been especially hurt this year by how much he's had to play vs rhp since our team is already so good vs LHP all over. And until we get Engel back, our outfield is going ot have somebody terrible every game. Just the way it is. I'm sure Lynn at least appreciates having a 2/3rds of a good defensive outfield with how much the twins elevate.
  8. can covid travel through puke?
  9. Awesome awesome awesome. Can't wait to see this team.
  10. Burdi adds a lot of excitement though with giving up like .9 home runs per pitch
  11. I don't see why not, arm is the most overrated outfielder attribute. Though I get that ours is ...particularly weak aside from Eaton.
  12. In terms of relievers, I'm most optimistic about double-a where Kade McClure is. His height and how he looked in spring training made me optimistic he may already be ready to take some pro innings. Hunter Schryver has also had a pretty good start in Charlotte, but haven't seen him pitch. I know there were quite a few fans on this board, though.
  13. Still a believer in Marshall, but he'll need nights like last night for opportunities to get on track. Knowing Ruiz is succeeding is helpful to take marshall's former place, but stuff-wise, his pitches are still moving a lot. I think he's just in a rut with command and it's making him too cautious.
  14. Thanks for putting these up, way off my game this year
  15. Happ tonight, let's keep our LHP dominance on a roll.
  16. Yeah I'd be fine pretty excited with some of those names. Obviously have flagged Stovall before but his lack of defensive profile is a bit concerning.

    Booooooo
  18. It has absolutely been the most interesting question to me as well. I love minor league ball, love minor league stadiums. I really wonder after last year if it is actually the best way to prepare baseball players to play at the highest level.
  19. It's so weird following this right now. I'm mostly just in a "take what's good and be happy, but don't worry about slow starts". I mean when was the last time dalquist/kelly/thompson played in front of a crowd? Bailey jumps from DSL to freakin Kanny. OTOH, when I see Jose Rodriguez just doing Jose Rodriguez things, producing like he always has, I find that meaningful ha. I do think the Birmingham/AAA guys that had schaumburg or more mlb camp run, I'm happy to see them all with pretty good starts. Stiever though, man not sure he is gonna be anything unless he finds his stuff again.

Heur is actually how my mom pronounces hi with her baltimore accent.
  21. cc @Chicago White Sox Don't take me sharing this as evidence that I enjoy the exhaustingly boring nfl schedule release day, which I am forced to read all the nfl writers tweet out as if it is scoops despite it not being at all interesting.
  22. The Adam Jahns article this morning on the behind the scenes for selecting fields was great but there was a paragraph or two of Pace reiterating how every scout had consensus on Fields and it made me cringe thinking about Trubs.
  23. All accolades should go to the actual talent doing it, but I have been so impressed with how well prepared these players have been considering the circumstances. Getz really does deserve credit for how well Schaumburg appears to have maintained progression on these players while also getting them ready to play in Major League games - the #1 goal of Schaumburg. AAA is back now and should make things easier, but the returns on the Schaumburg experiment were excellent and a big part of the sox success.
  24. Mieses with another HR, great start for him. Man feels like no matter how much talent we put on Kanny that team always ends up awful.
