  1. I really, really hope this ends the "it just prevents you from getting SYMPTOMS not the DISEASE" talk https://investors.pfizer.com/investor-news/press-release-details/2021/Real-World-Evidence-Confirms-High-Effectiveness-of-Pfizer-BioNTech-COVID-19-Vaccine-and-Profound-Public-Health-Impact-of-Vaccination-One-Year-After-Pandemic-Declared/default.aspx
  2. I feel so far behind on these rumors. I thought I was like super confident a week ago and that hasn't changed but to me super confident is like bears 40% to get him, 40% he stays, 20% the field, but I think I'm gathering that to other people they are like 100% bears get wilson or we like, riot and burn down stuff.
  3. And this will likely be 100k/day by tomorrow, which is nice because it is an even rounder number.
  4. I actually wish people would speak in percentages for team moves more often. Seems like a lot of people only digest stuff as binary "YOU SAID TEAM WAS INTERESTED IN PLAYER BUT DIDNT GET THEM!"
  5. It was so annoying to me! With sox twitter - which I am only on the edges of - I know very quickly what rumors everyone is alluding to. With bears twitter? Everyone just talks about what everyone is talking about but nobody friggen quote tweets or anything it's all stuck in some random ass reply thread.
  6. I love listening to him, he is so consistent in what he communicates he is looking for from the team.
  7. Probably just means he’ll be injured soon. That body has miles on it.
  8. A lot of the media types bothering to mock out a Russel Wilson trade continue to include Mack. That seems unlikely to me with the dead cap of wilson + mack's salary. Especially since if there is a year to go FA fishing it would be this one, and it looks like Shaq Barrett may be available. I wonder if deals this year will feature more guaranteed cash with lower first year base salaries to get around this years lowered cap, considering what the Dak deal may have tipped about the upcoming lucrative FA deal.
  9. What a brave boy criticizing the bears front office in the nfl thread.
  10. Vaccinations have some public health workarounds, that's why some orgs can require employees/schools require proof of vaccinations.
  11. I am just in the mindset that the possibility of two top 5 QBs trying to force their way out in one offseason is incredible, it is franchise altering, and I'm glad the Bears appear to be taking it as seriously as they are. As was the case when I died on the Mookie Betts hill, when incredible players become available, go get them. But it was important to distinguish best players in game vs just good to very good. And somehow, two incredible players are pushing to become available. It is why I'm getting so annoyed by Bears fan discourse that is so negative in pushing back because "it's never going to happen". It is in incredibly unlikely that franchise QBs move! It is another step in that that the Bears would be the ones that get them. So yes, the most likely outcome is that neither get traded, or get traded to a different team, but there is a much higher likelihood than there was in November that the bears could acquire a top 5 QB via trade. It is all about process right now. Two QBs are trying to move, the teams are reluctant to move them, and the bears need to do everything they can to make the move happen. But everything after that "you still have to build an oline!" "you still need to build the team around them" blah blah, yeah sometimes! Sometimes it works where the QB is added to an assembled team! Sometimes! But it is really hard to time, so just go get good players in football.
  12. Makes sense. 20% is low, but if they are contact tracing as it says in DA's email, it makes sense to actually start small there to make sure they have that in place.
  13. Thanks for posting this DA. Would love to keep seeing the comms they send out if you get any more.
  14. Yeah, but similar issue we saw in limited action last year. He gives up way, way, way too many home runs. He has some velo back, but he clearly needs to re-work how to he is going to get batters out.
  15. They very much reduce infection and transmission, your information is from a very narrow reading of what the initial EUAs were filed for but since then there have been millions vaccinated and studies in places like Israel confirming what was already very likely. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-21/pfizer-biontech-shot-stops-covid-s-spread-israeli-study-shows Note, that topline number will be lower, but if you are vaccinated you are less likely to be infected and are less likely to transmit, but we don't know to what degree yet. But that is a substantial reduction of risk to the point that idea that you couldn't hold a concert because people may spread it outside is much more stringent than a "anyone can go to an indoor restaurant with some space between them" standard which currently exists.
  16. I think it is because Heuer, Foster, Marshall were pushed down this offseason to be MRP is why I'm so positive. I'd probably still think our bullpen is good if Heuer was our 8th inning guy, but we now have Crochet/Bummer in that role. It allows guys to have some struggles an use others, and not just throw jimmy cordero out there every day because you need arms.
  17. props to @hogan873 for providing good and helpful information on this topic leading up to the announcement.
  18. Bruce Levine has been saying sox/Cubs were given go ahead for April , though maybe not opening day. He said announcement should come this week if not today.
  19. I think there were some interesting lessons from the UC rollout. For those that missed it, initially it was rolled out to cook county residents 65+ or older, then was supposed to open up today (appts yesterday evening) to any 16 y.o. + eligible person (teachers/comorbidities, etc). Then FEMA apparently pushed a change to the state to limit it to only Chicago for some reason, and any non-chicago cook county residents were not allowed. Apparently most of the appts were from the non-chicago group. My takeaway is I've read some that state/city leaders don't love the mass vax centers for logistics and spread reasons. But the UC opening was the most straightforward communications I've seen. Everyone knew about it, it was all over news, and they had the simple phone number and zoc doc link. There is a ton of demand right now, and the priority to speed it up by just pushing it to local and pharmacies is ultimately fine and doing a decent job. But it is confusing, and requires a lot of effort. That is probably ok during this phase where the people who want it most are putting in that effort. But really soon there will be enough to get to the group that is a little more hesitant, busy or just not prioritizing it as much. I think these sites (there are ones in a few diff parts of state) should hopefully open up to all IL residents. They are the easiest to understand, and should hopefully fill a void of fallback ("well I can always just drive to the UC and get one") On the other hand, maybe when it moves to 2 this isn't even as important, and anyone walking into a walgreens or CVS will be met with an opportunity to grab a quick shot. Here's hoping
  20. Yeah I didn’t plan that well. You are right, the first big batches of J&J are the 15th, so on 3/22 I really hope our avg is 3 mill at that point. I could still see a large week from 2nd doses + first doses really humming.
  21. A 2.9 million day, on March 5th. Can we hit 3 mill/day 7 day avg by mid March?
