That was my point. He said sox don’t have a comparable package that doesn’t include Kopech/Vaughn. Then he makes one, but says it’s too much for Sox, even though it proves that we could make a similar package. The real problem for Sox is just that a package of Ramos, Rodriguez, Bailey and Bush would both clear out a generation(not sure this is right word) of positional prospects and also is weaker than the Padres offer in all likelihood.

I think a big part of it is the feeling that the top prospects of 2019 were just wrapped in bubble wrap and are the same now. Had there been baseball, the top 100 would have seen huge churn as always. These guys being 10-20 or something means less than if it happened last winter. We just have little idea.

In 2020, Musgrove threw his least dominant pitch (4 seam fastball) 10% less, and threw his unhittable curveball 10% more. It came at cost of a higher walk percentage, but much higher k rate, and better everything else. He has a great slider, a great curve, and a good sinker. I’d like to see a not pirates team play with him. Stiever can certainly grow but without his 2019 velo pop up, he’s much less interesting than the above with the weak stuff he showed.

I honestly have no idea how to value musgrove but am hoping it’s relatively depressed.

So at worst he’s a cost controlled pitcher that gets you what everyone is drooling over Quintana getting them, and then on other side he shows realistic chance at being much better than that while on Sox.

I just don’t don’t see what you see with Bradley. I don’t see why his curveball disappeared. I don’t think his fastball stands out. Pitchers are weird but so don’t see the piece that says it clicks. Fastball/change up isn’t my fav reliever profile.
