That’s interesting, I would have liked Lyles and I like that the Rangers targeted him. Between their targeting of Wheeler, report of not signing Ozuna, and this I’m actually getting some confidence in their decision making again (though the best moves are the ones they took themselves out of but that’s the owner)

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Per Rosenthals latest, the giants are in the lead for Castellanos (at least believed to be)

2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
It also stated there may actually be wholesale change according to sources. This game is WOOF. Terrible basketball, both teams exhausted on a B2B

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
I think it was like 10 pm the Monday of in 2016 when morosi reported the nats package for sale.

Boom. This one is the most cold water yet, wasn’t a matter of semantics even.

Not bad...but with the Mets new ownership I’m not feeling they are going to sell.- Strasburg back to WASH
You don’t have to lose Madrigal. You could move Moncada to RF.- Strasburg back to WASH
Whew settle down bud it was funny- Strasburg back to WASH
Getting one of the best bats in the majors means RF can be a lower level guy (or replaced internally). And means thyme or offense is set and can focus on patching a pitching staff together a la twins.- Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Aww yeah inject this hot stove action into my veins- Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Angels get desperate...trade us shohei in order for us to take pujols 2/59mill off hands.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
Why I love these threads, I had not heard a thing about lindblom (or it had not resonated). That would be really interesting, would be a really fun spring training follow.- Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
The Rays are in the AL East, that cannot be discounted. The sox live a charmed life in this division yet cannot seem to take advantage.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
Yep, that's a good one. He was rumored to be meeting with LAD so a good sign there. Still only 28.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
This thread isn't intended to mean that. There are always interesting lower level pitchers that end up outperforming, and quite frankly soxtalk has been pretty good at identifying some each year. We were way off on henderson alvarez though.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
I think it's more that he "recovered" then was out for that same elbow most of the season than arrives for 1 inning at the end of the season. So there may be durability concerns with the reconstructed elbow as a starter.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
There was a two year stretch where it seemed every game I'd end up at was sox indians with salazar pitching and it would be these brutal games where the sox couldn't muster a hit.- Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
It's at least fun to talk about. I do wonder if Rodon is a better piece than we realize. Please understand I mean that in he has value but not is the centerpiece for snell.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
I do take the non-tendering by dbacks as a pretty bad sign. They can be decently competitive again next year and he was only projected at $5 mill. He re-injured the elbow early last year and got through for a late comeback, but I'm guessing it isn't a clean injury report.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
Is this a one-time vomit at signing, or continuous vomiting as he's pitching.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
He pitched in the last game of 2019...did he get injured again (sincerely asking the b-ref news didn't mention it)- Baseball America: White Sox Top 10
I think this matches their BA draft rankings and they didn't really pitch after being drafted so I'm not surprised.- Favorite "Bounce Back"/Savvy Pitcher FA Candidates
Not saying this is the barrel the sox will swim in, but interested to hear if there are any interesting guys posters like in that 1 year/2 year bounce back area. I've seen: Porcello - objectively awful last year but gives you innings. I have stated that I think he tried to change things up to the high fastball 4 seamer way the red sox (and white sox) have been preaching and just didn't work with his stuff. Leaning heavily back on his sinker is a way to find a decent back end starter. Taijian Walker - Has not pitched for two straight years, and is only 27. He was non-tendered, and the dbacks would know health and recovery better than anyone. But fewer guys could claim a plausible out of nowhere season. Martin Perez - Found new life in Minny with a cutter before regressing in the second half. Just seems like a good candidate for our pitching staff. Danny Salazar - this guy is probably absolute toast since the indians let him go but I've always had an absolute crush on his filth and just want to be the team that has him for his next life if it happens. Homer Bailey - His split finger was nasty last year. On a 1 year deal just let him throw that thing all day. When he went to the As he really started to cut his BBs down and his WHIP was at a low last year. Also, remember Jermaine Dye for Homer Bailey trades?- Dallas Keuchel (discussion)...come on down!
I'm in a weird boat where I think people are overstating Keuchel as a bad pitcher, but he is not really what I have in mind for this rotation. It's like a fantasy draft where a guy keeps dropping you know gives you some consistent production and is worth getting there...but just not what you want. But if we are talking something like 3/45 then I think his experience and health would be a benefit to the sox. But I just know we will want that flexibility in the coming year or two to pounce on an expensive guy that becomes available so I am less excited for likely two 18-20 mill guys in keuchel and whomever that soak up a lot of that flexibility. - Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
