Dane Dunning: No TJS just yet, rest and monitor

Phew! Thought you were going to bring the hammer. -
great post.

I edited it out of the thread. Please move on. I don't want to end up on the today show debating Reinsdorf on whether the discourse is too nasty.

Truly believe its the player development and restraints in size of scouting team. Also that while we had a huge spending class with robert, we did it without adding him to an already large class - that one was still within the allotted budget. I don't know of a team aside from the orioles that didn't have a huge latam class during the old cba. -

I know two parts of the body, the ACL and UCL. Don't ask me about other parts, i've never heard of them. -

Honestly I know ptatc is going to tell me I'm wrong but whenever we get the "oh its just a forearm strain, they'll rest and rehab through it" I get annoyed because it just delays the inevitable tjs and turns a 12 month recovery into a 18 month episode. -
this is just not true at all.

this is where a competent international pipeline can come in handy. -
now is the time to try things out.

dont' worry, if you miss this one, there will be a new one soon.

I don't care how much older arenado is, they are paying for his 28-30 seasons in the contract. I'd rather pay for the next 5 years at a 30 mill clip then get less years, at more money. Now, obviously they had many years of cheap arenado so that's great, but contract wise Machados is good ,and the tail end risk is about the same as arenados.

I could live with 2/3 of those being hurt, but not dunning.
-
Like rondon's power more, like Sanchez d more. Would rather, as ever, roll with Leury in CF.

man...who hasn't pitched yet. Has cease pitched yet?

I do want to say I'm very pleased with Lavine lately, even defensively. Less dumb reach-in fouls. THen offensively, much better distributor and playmaker in spots. I hated his defense before but knew he was trying, not mailing it in. Definitely seems like its paying off as the structure of the team improves. And him focusing on playing off of lauri more rather than Dunn plays off because Lauri is very unselfish and Lavine works to pay him back. It helps when you remove bobby portis/parker type players too that got the ball and never gave it up. Much more of a group for team basketball here and its paying off.

Yeah, he definitely thought he was the man. I thought he was getting too much praise last year when he was ball hogging last shots and hitting like 6% of them.
-
Sox are gonna be a big triples team.
-
I definitely got annoyed when people tried justifying acquiring alonso independent of luring manny because a 32 year old .738 ops first baseman is just such a bad use of a prospect and money. Call ain't anything special, he's definitely a guy that still gets you a middle relief prospect.

Machado ages 26-31 seasons - 5 year 150 million then opt out Arenado 28-30 seasons - 3 years 97.5 contract then opt out Thats how I look at it, you get 2 more years of prime machado and longer guaranteed control. Machados is really good.

Lol, I watched the mlb network documentary on the 70s As, was really entertaining as someone who knew they had dominant teams and a stingy owner but none of the anecdotes.
-
Hasn't a sport given a player part ownership before? Did I make that up?
-
ugh that stupid rule keeps ruining everything.
-
Obviously I've done zero work on this and they have and it's not a particularly difficult formula...that said I always felt like fwar is too aggressive on park effects and it really skews negative for rockies players.
-
also has an opt out in year 3 vs year 5. Would take machados for machados age anytime.

Cant stress enough that the white sox payroll this year is $15 million over the oakland as and even more over the Rays. Both those teams may win 85 games plus again, we have the least position player talent in the league until eloy gets here (excluding baltimore). That $15 mill got us nothing. When you spend as poorly as hahn, having a $130 million payroll isn't much of an advantage over the rays when you can't identify, develop and draft 90% as well as they do.
