  1. This is what happens when you can’t show you can complete a pass 15 yards deep
  2. Should add that Goldman has felt like he’s made more impact interior wise than hicks today (which is good!)
  3. If the condition is 'games played without a suspension' I'd say it's good. Their receiver situation was horrendous.
  4. That is a fairly strange list. Instructionals has felt like the place where they hype trains actually start for prospects, so it's weird they are being scaled back since it seems to have been informative from a fan level. I expect we should finally hear some hype on some of their 2016 intl class here, and hopefully someone asks Luis Gonzalez why he's there (maybe he's going to spend offyear in AZ and sox asked if he wanted to participate?)
  5. Yeah there is nuance but I lean toward your thinking. I think for good "improv" qbs like rodgers and wilson their tendency to keep plays alive can make olines more vulnerable to bad reputations than say, Brady. And I think Bevell maybe exacerbated it with a simplistic run-first offense that made passing situations all or nothing, but also just think seattle's oline was bad in a way that GB/NE's never has been. They could try a pass quick offense but it kind of neuters what makes Wilson great, so they really should load up on Oline now that most of their expensive defensive pieces are gone
  6. Well, unfortunately sexual assault is a crime very much requiring the participation of the victim that is often a very painful and not healing experience, and coming forward has shown to be difficult for many. Had Kavanaugh run her over with a car it would be more likely she charged him right away. To flatten everything as “crime”, is too simplistic imo.
  7. man my receivers are so bad in one league. Only hope is i stashed Edelman.
  8. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/the-claim-against-kavanaugh-is-not-a-suspicious-11th-hour-bombshell-because-were-not-in-the-11th-hour/2018/09/17/cfe86460-ba74-11e8-a8aa-860695e7f3fc_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.267490e9aa9e I think this is right. One, there is no binary choice for voters in this. This is about a lifetime appointment so the idea that there is an imminent clock running is wrong.
  9. It is about the position, and for her it is about denying him that position. What I do not think it is about at all is denying republicans the position. This, after all, did not happen for Gorsuch.
  10. I think that market is short term expensive but long term I don't see $11 billion as that off. If Cocacola bought it today I'd be surprised if it was much below 10 billion It is obviously risky because so much depends on regulation, but in 5-7 years I don't think many regret buying this stock right now (I say this, but I would not buy it right now, but I'm just adding that while I don't think this is a good "ride the wave" buy, I don't see this as a total fad either)
  11. True, but it felt like they spent a lot of draft capital and it still was not working out. Though I should probably qualify it was pass blocking they were truly terrible at
  12. The why is this happening podcast (chris hayes) with Sean McElwee was very good. I listened to it on sunday and can't stop thinking about it. some main thoughts: 1) It is hard having lived through it to communicate how much more default conservative culture/media/politics was through the Bush era but 2) It is equally hard to know whether that experience is at all relevant as guidance moving forward. McElwee's thoughts on comparing the left to the tea party were really interesting and probably more accurate than cw on it. The tea party surge of 10-12 is one of those things where I'm not sure we get an accurate account of it for years until a talented historian can find the thread.
  13. They had a long run of being a top ten defense. What's more amazing to me is how they had equally long a run of a bad offensive line.
  14. I guess succinctly I mean that for some victims they largely just want to be out of "harms way" from perpetrator, but when they attain a certain level of power or fame, they feel very much back in harms way and some decide to act on that then even if its years later. The issue, of course, is that people will conflate that action with it being opportunistic. And that is difficult too but that may be the case no matter when it happens.
  15. I understand this point, but I think it's undeniable that the process for making an accusation at any level is not easy, but she lived most of her life without having to hear/see Kavanaugh in the news. I can list a handful of judges lower than Supreme court, they are not very visible. The supreme court however is very visible, and I think that makes it more understandable that there is a line drawn. He would become a capital-H historical figure, and by circumstance one of the most important in years, and so it can bring more urgency to share the way he affected her life.
  16. I think there is zero chance this is criminal unless Shapiro was under payment from the foreign govt. This is basically printing a press release, and would be covered by first amendment. It is very much unethical, but luckily I hear so much about ethics of journalism from the right I'm sure there will be demand for a thorough investigation and acknowledgment from this outfit.
  17. No, we aren't going to re-write what "raw" means to fit Mitch Trubisky. The Texas Tech offense is not relatable to NFL, he was in shotgun every snap, he had simplified reads, and he had unpolished footwork. He was considered very raw. Mitch was also considered raw, but now only one QBs "raw" is an excuse while the others is forgotten about. But anyway, Mitch needs to show me a good performance tonight, but also this is a game that should pound Jordan Howard.
  18. Her letter asked for further communication with Feinstein, so asking her not to leak it out. She says she was (rightfully) reluctant to go through the scrutiny of her and her family. But when it was clear that an anonymous accusation was not going to be enough to bring up, she went forward with it. I find the "feinstein was being STRATEGIC TO BRING IT DOWN" garbage. Do you know what would have been absolutely worse? Getting an anonymous letter from a constituent and publishing it. She was refusing to even share it with her judiciary committee democratic colleagues. These always hit an arc, but I'm not shocked that the woman finally decided it was only worth needing to be shared when she knew he was going to be confirmed. If you believe her, then her life is absolutely going to be garbage now, but had Kavanaugh not made it out of committee she could have avoided having to see him in public life for the rest of her life knowing what he did AND avoided having to drag her own life through the mud (again). Let's just do a mental exercise and assume in option A) this did happen and option B) she made it up. The decision making process for going forward are very similar. But yeah, anyway tell me now Devin Nunes would have handled this.
  19. What's amazing about the KC offense with Mahomes is the exploitation of the 15-20 yard routes that emerge in zone schemes OR break open with time in man. He's getting great time back there and just trusting that finds itself each play, it's awesome. And, sorry to be anti-trubs talking points, BUT the big ? on Mahomes was that he was "so raw" coming out. Nobody is making "it's his 3rd career start!" excuses for him. Suddenly he's the polished prospect.
  20. Some notes on yesterday: - The 49ers offense isn't quite as high flying as I expected. They scored 30 points regardless, but it was against the lions. This is a *take* but, I see Kyle Shanahan as a future super bowl winning coach, but I do wonder about this roster and org and if he doesn't end up finding it on his second job like others. - I feel bad for Steve Wilks and AZ just due to window shutting. The cards for a time built a truly "zig when others zag" roster and it was fun, but it shows you how your window is finite when you don't have a star QB to transition you. - Mahomes is amazing, but so many options on every play. I do believe Bears offense will get better and make it easier on Trubs as it evolves. - Please let Chiefs/Steelers be a playoff matchup, so much more entertaining than some crap with the Patriots.
  21. I can’t figure out if him entering race helps or hurts McCarthy. Leaning toward hurts.
  22. I'm fine with Anderson. I think Moncada will unlock his tools. But the thing is, Moncada needs to be an all star. We have few in our farm with all star potential as hitters, and we see what happens to pitchers. The thing is he's still really fast. And he has good power. And he has a decent eye. I still believe that he can figure out the balance that gives him the chance to succeed.
