Jon's our only starter that doesn't look lost up there, Cliff is the best hitter on the team this year so I'm sure he'll be used as a pinch hitter sometime this series.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) Not sure why that's happening; the more I think about it, the more I think Houston will roll over us. Oh I dont know, maybe because you picked the sox to win 75 games in the preseason, maybe because you picked the red sox to destroy our sox or maybe because you said "the angels are headed to the world series" you've been right on the mark all year about this group.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) The Drunk Andy Griffith strikes again!!! I don't think I'll go to the UC. It's not like the Bulls or Hawks, where that's their home field. The bulls and hawks play on fields.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Scott Podsednik going down alone didn't cause this team to lose a 15 game lead. They didn't lose a 15 game lead now did they. Meh, I'm not going to argue this, it's been beaten to death before and we all know where everyone else stands on the issue.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) season ticket holders were given a chance to get weekend passes even after they have sold out, just and FYI, I will probably go only one day and will have my pass for distribution. Rock, I was just joking with ribbie before, YOU have always been my favorite poster.

A little randomness here but I thought this picture was really cool from espn.com:

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) Does anyone here think that prick Erik Kuselias will live up to his word if the Sox win the WS? What did he say he'd do?? Hell, I'm still waiting for somebody on here to eat a hat.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Damn, that is one long sentence. This coming from qwerty the grammar master?? I'll fix it, my bad. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) They may also have been due to the Sox not getting the same pitching as the 1st half of the season. Correct, I shouldn't have made it sound like that was only because of scott but I think highly of him for various reasons, there really aren't to many other leadoff hitters I would rather have.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) I did that a while back and may have deleted it on accident. Why doesn't that surprise me.

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Biggest game in 8A, possibly ever. Undefeated Warren vs. Undefeated Stevenson in Gurnee. Winner could get #1 seed for playoffs next week. I had to go to the field to do some equipment tests and it is huge. Lots of seats added, plus the home Warren side was redone over the summer and is huge. Should be a classic. Comcast is taping it as their Game of the Week to air next week and it will be LIVE on WKRS 1220 AM in Lake County. I expect some unbiast announcing. :rolly -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Just the coolest guy eva Hi8is.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Ichiro, Brady Clark, Brian Roberts, Brad Wilkerson, Carl Crawford, David DeJesus, etc... But yeah, almost all the good leadoff hitters in the game made the playoffs. If by almost all you mean less than half. :rolly There are at least 15 better leadoff hitters in the game than Podsednik, especially when he's running with a CS% over 50. According to what? Win shares?? There aren't to many other guys I'd rather have leading off then scott, this team went down the f***in tubes when he was out.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) That lineup is marginally better than this year's one. I shudder at the thought of having Everett as the DH for a whole 'nother year. And, when you factor in defense -- according to BP's RAA, which I believe is Runs Above Average -- has Rowand at something like 23 runs better than Griffey defensively (Rowand at a +7, Griffey at a -16). Another metric (UZR), IIRC, I thought I read had Griffey as the second worst CF'er in all of baseball (it might have been just the NL). Pretty much, there's little to no improvement on that team. It's going to be hard to improve a team that went to the world series, no? Anyways, your post went down hill once you mentioned BP.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Yeah, the same cap that he helped get a whole season cancelled in order to get put in place. I cant believe how people like you can support a man who cares nothing about the fans and everything about his wallet. I think your loyalty for a team which season after season is built for mediocracy at best is really hilarious. I know absolutely nothing about hockey but nuke just cause you don't like the owner doesn't mean you can't stay loyal to a team that you've always liked. There are a lot of people that don't like Reinsdorf but that doesn't mean they can't like the sox or the bulls. Whatever I really don't know much of the topic being discussed so I probably shouldn't get involved but just stating that you can remain loyal to a team even if you don't like the owner. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) I think the idea has merit. I also think the follow-through is almost completely impossible. I dont think people are going to want to be removing and putting their shirts back on everytime a lead changes hands. Here's the thing, people who are diehards at the park are already going to be wearing black or white or gray but people who just dont care aren't going to be wearing these things anyways even if they are being given out but meh..I could be wrong.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) apparently you missed saved by the bell. Another one I'd nominate.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) They probalby sold out of their alottment of tickets. Season ticket holders will get an invoice to purchase tickets. So cozy up next to your favorite season ticket holder and beg... Ribbie, you've always been my favorite poster on soxtalk.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Clemens on the road scares me Not to hard to figure out why he's been so much better on the road and it's not to hard to figure out that the cell aint exactly a pitchers park.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) I cant believe it sold out already. Usually I pick up my tickets in early november. This will be the first time in years that I won't be able to go. Hopefully someone has extras that I can buy. It would suck to not go this year. If KW and Ozzie thought last year was a love fest holy s***. Everything you said goes for me. Usually book the freakin hotel in early November and have been to the last 5 or so, wow, what next regular season tickets sell out before I buy my ozzie pack next year?? With my luck that will somehow be possible.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Also if you are 21 years old or older (much older in some cases) you can always spend the evenings at the Hyatt bar. That is one of the highlights of the weekend as many players, coaches, and fans hang out up there. LIES, you know you don't have to be 21.
