  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) But yeah, a bunch of us did soxfest last year and it's a real good time, especially if you go with people that are as much into the sox as you. I'm not a big autograph guy so I didn't do any of that. I got a bunch of discounted sox stuff, went to a few seminars, and just had a real good weekend of some much needed baseball in january. That's what I basically do now. I got most of their autographs, so last year I waited for a few of the new guys(scotty, dye, aj) and then I just went to all the seminars. Seminars are by far the best part imo. Fun stuff. Maybe this year I'll meet up with some of you guys.
  2. It's funny cause if we win this game which I really think is possible then all this arguing is moot.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Ever try to play a sport with a hangover? David Wells has.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Mark may be pukig on the mind You hung over too.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:53 PM)
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I better illustrated the point though. :sleep
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Who would be better motivated to give it all they got in today's game? 7 bench players who are fighting for a playoff spot and possibly a spot on next year's roster or 7 regulars who know they're on the playoff roster and just clinched the division yesterday? Honestly, I think this lineup might give us the best chance to win. Exactly, I think I already made that point though.
  8. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) anyone else really excited to see this game and see some of these guys play? i know i am. Ditto.
  9. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Damn it would be funny as hell if we win tonite with this lineup!! Wouldn't surprise me if we did.
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) we're still starting mark buehle! Nope, he's actually just been scratched to let el duque get a start. Ok, I'm just kidding.
  11. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Kap...close this one up? I don't think there is any reason for that. Nobody is attacking anyone else, just good banter between people with different opinions.
  12. QUOTE(chisoxfan14 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) WILLIE!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) So you won't b**** ever when the Sox need some help, and the team they need the help from throws a line-up like this on the field? That's fine. Personally, I would be pissed. You know what--I definitely wouldn't be happy but I would understand completely, that team that won their division has the right to do what they want, they need to worry about themselves and no one else. Like I said if the Red Sox and Yankees won 96 games they wouldn't be worrying about this.
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) OK, everyone has their point, and they are all good ones. Let's move on now, shall we? Me included. 2 hours till gametime, what else are we gonna do?
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Angels opponent was Oakland who was eliminated from playoff consideration. So what? We won the division, we can do whatever the f*** we want, if the red sox and yankees had 96 wins then they wouldn't have to worry about this now would they?
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) wehether he should or not it won't matter because he doesn't have 17 or more wins and a Starting Pitcher has never won the Cy Young with less than 17 wins. This is what you said, YOU WERE WRONG, just admit it and move on.
  17. Angels lineup the day after they won the west: Davanon Izturis Finley Rivera Kotchman Quinlan Pride Paul(yes that Paul) Sorensen
  18. QUOTE(hi8is @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) what time (central time) is rome is burning on? Right now.
  19. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) If we don't win at least 1 we can lose the ALHF. Correct, if either the yanks or bosox sweep this weekends series.
  20. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Does anybody know a Red Sox message board? We should break the news to them about the lineup. They know or atleast their radio stations do.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) No, every team has to respect the game and always play to win. If teams were allowed to take the night off, baseball would be like wrestling (the WWF variety). We'll see how Ozzie does the rest of the series. Maybe it's day off tonight and they'll play all weekend. I would reject the counter argument of everyone on a MLB roster is a ML player and capable of winning the game. Every fan knows these guys are not as good as the guys they are replacing. Once again tex, our starters have got dominated by Millwood to the tune of a 1.33 era this year, these bench players have something to play for and our regulars really do not. Also, our team earned this right, Scoscia I believe pulled off something similar the day after the Angels clinched. By the way, Borch is batting .800 this year.
  22. Let me add, Millwood has a 1.33 era against us this year, why not try a whole new lineup? To be honest all these guys playing have something to play for and our starters really don't.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) This is bogus. If the White Sox were playing Cleveland for their playoff lives and either the Yankees or Red Sox put this crap on the field which would hurt their chances, there would be outrage. I have no problem with a regular Sunday line-up tonight, but this is stretching it. If Cleveland rolls tonight, this will have repercussions in the future, believe me. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Ozzie gets a call from the commissioner's office as well. And before anyone skewers me, just put yourselves in NY or Boston's shoes. We earned this right Dick, they didn't.
  24. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) Did anybody hear about Bud Selig sending a letter to the Sox about fielding a competitive team the next 3 games? I thought I heard it in the score but I am not sure. If he did that, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's why ozzie put this lineup out there.
  25. I guess Boston radio is already b****ing about this, oh well...we earned this right. Anyways, I'm actually excited to see this lineup play. Extremely happy to see Ross, Borch and Anderson in there.
