  1. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) I'm not "slurping" my boys, anyone whose a fan of baseball should be able to recognize what David Ortiz has done and acknowledge it. You're obviously having trouble doing so. approval to SoSH? what are you talking about? Everyone here knows that Ortiz is a great player and is having a fantastic season but how is it historical? I think that's the point Punch is trying to make.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Well Maggz isnt as tied to the organization as Frank is and now he is on a rival team so whats wrong with that. He did say he was happy for some people which says he had friends here he cared about. You're correct, I misread the quote a bit, I apologize.
  3. :notworthy :notworthy Also, don't want to bring this article down but for anyone who didn't think Magglio was a jag--there ya go.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) :uhoh
  5. :headbang What a season. But it ain't done yet, lets get 11 more starting October 4th.
  6. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) That way we guarentee that whoever we face in the ALDS will have at least one starter already used -- and 2 starters if its NNY or BOS. That's not necessarily true.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Ah Gload! Bring in Jenks, win the f'n game, and let Baj and Sanders do their thing the next few days. I'm with you here fathom, we win tonight and we really have nothing to play for.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) I think the Sox hold the tiebreak over the Yanks if they end up with the same record. They don't though over the Red Sox. Correct, a win or red sox loss and we clinch it.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I don't get it: We've basically could care less the whole game, but now we're going to use our entire bullpen? I agree, atleast we can rest those guys on saturday or sunday and then the offday monday
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) Hafner had two strikes against him. He threw a rolling slider high over the middle of the plate. He was lucky it wasnt elevated. It was on the outside corner but still up. Marte is just terrible right now so he's not going to get many breaks around here.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Fans suck in general. I thought it was mostly cubs fans but it happens all the times at sox games and at all the other ball parks i have been to. This is true, wrigley is by far the worst though, so much ooo'ing and ahh'ing on every pop up.
  12. The thing that impresses me about Anderson is how he stays on the breaking ball, a lot of young hitters just whiff at a good breaking ball but Brian seems to know how to stay with it and make good contact.
  13. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Ah hell, I should just come up and get it over with. But it's so freakin' COLD. What a wimp you are.
  14. Another thing I'd like to add is that everytime Scotty gets on base this series I hope he runs, see if we can get him back on track.
  15. Nice job Mark. That's the thing I'm watching closest today is Mr. Buehrle to see if he can keep that changeup from sailing up and away to righties, if he can get that pitch back then he'll be his normal self.
  16. f*** THIS TEAM, THEY WON'T WIN THE DIVISION HITTING LIKE THIS, UGHHHHHHHHH
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) But yeah, a bunch of us did soxfest last year and it's a real good time, especially if you go with people that are as much into the sox as you. I'm not a big autograph guy so I didn't do any of that. I got a bunch of discounted sox stuff, went to a few seminars, and just had a real good weekend of some much needed baseball in january. That's what I basically do now. I got most of their autographs, so last year I waited for a few of the new guys(scotty, dye, aj) and then I just went to all the seminars. Seminars are by far the best part imo. Fun stuff. Maybe this year I'll meet up with some of you guys.
  18. It's funny cause if we win this game which I really think is possible then all this arguing is moot.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Ever try to play a sport with a hangover? David Wells has.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Mark may be pukig on the mind You hung over too.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:53 PM)
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I better illustrated the point though. :sleep
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Who would be better motivated to give it all they got in today's game? 7 bench players who are fighting for a playoff spot and possibly a spot on next year's roster or 7 regulars who know they're on the playoff roster and just clinched the division yesterday? Honestly, I think this lineup might give us the best chance to win. Exactly, I think I already made that point though.
  24. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) anyone else really excited to see this game and see some of these guys play? i know i am. Ditto.
