QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Damnit, Carl. Well, I was hoping for two things today -- no injuries, and a good start from Garland. Halfway there; real encouraging performance by Jon today. Maybe one more inning then done? I think that's the way to go.

QUOTE(JimH @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Boy, the White Sox are not making it easy on Cleveland. As frustrating as it's been to be a White Sox fan these past few weeks, it has got to be really rough to be a Cleveland fan this weekend. Talk about nail biting. No doubt. I'm surprised we don't have any runs yet, our regulars are swinging the bat pretty well so far, not much to show for it though.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) thats a little more respectable than yesterday.....what i find funny though is that you have rowand, AJ and everett who have all batted #3 this year, yet we bat a guy who hasnt been on the team all year at 3rd? i guess i just dont get it Ya, like Jimbo's said I'm sure that's where they are batting for the postseason with Jermaine in the 3 hole, that definitely makes me happy.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Oh boy, Gload in the OF. This should be fun. We should have put Scotty in center just for fun.

El Duque Odd Man Out
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Willie is gonna be on the postseason roster. He's a huge asset as a pinch runner. I agree, Willie is such a valuable asset. If true this is the right move imo. As 101 pointed out Viz has been a solid reliever for a while now, the Duke has had 1 good relief appearance we really dont know what to expect out of him in that role and to be honest, he's been terrible for a while as well. This was the move I was hoping the team would make so I'm hoping this is true.

Ortiz's season
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) I'm not "slurping" my boys, anyone whose a fan of baseball should be able to recognize what David Ortiz has done and acknowledge it. You're obviously having trouble doing so. approval to SoSH? what are you talking about? Everyone here knows that Ortiz is a great player and is having a fantastic season but how is it historical? I think that's the point Punch is trying to make.

Thomas helps Sox continue the party
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Well Maggz isnt as tied to the organization as Frank is and now he is on a rival team so whats wrong with that. He did say he was happy for some people which says he had friends here he cared about. You're correct, I misread the quote a bit, I apologize.

AND THATS A KNIGHTS WINNER!!!!!!!!&
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) That way we guarentee that whoever we face in the ALDS will have at least one starter already used -- and 2 starters if its NNY or BOS. That's not necessarily true.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Ah Gload! Bring in Jenks, win the f'n game, and let Baj and Sanders do their thing the next few days. I'm with you here fathom, we win tonight and we really have nothing to play for.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) I think the Sox hold the tiebreak over the Yanks if they end up with the same record. They don't though over the Red Sox. Correct, a win or red sox loss and we clinch it.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I don't get it: We've basically could care less the whole game, but now we're going to use our entire bullpen? I agree, atleast we can rest those guys on saturday or sunday and then the offday monday

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) Hafner had two strikes against him. He threw a rolling slider high over the middle of the plate. He was lucky it wasnt elevated. It was on the outside corner but still up. Marte is just terrible right now so he's not going to get many breaks around here.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Fans suck in general. I thought it was mostly cubs fans but it happens all the times at sox games and at all the other ball parks i have been to. This is true, wrigley is by far the worst though, so much ooo'ing and ahh'ing on every pop up.

The thing that impresses me about Anderson is how he stays on the breaking ball, a lot of young hitters just whiff at a good breaking ball but Brian seems to know how to stay with it and make good contact.

Another thing I'd like to add is that everytime Scotty gets on base this series I hope he runs, see if we can get him back on track.

Nice job Mark. That's the thing I'm watching closest today is Mr. Buehrle to see if he can keep that changeup from sailing up and away to righties, if he can get that pitch back then he'll be his normal self.
