  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) ...in 92 AB's. But hey, if we like sample size so much, I think Kevin Walker eventually should pitch well, 'cause he had such a good Spring Training. Three year splits line vs. lefties -- .241/.363/.483 -- good enough for me. Good call about sample size, that was half assed researching on my part. Still those splits don't thrill me but we're not going to see eye to eye on this, so just agree to disagree.
  2. Regardless of what Kalapse thinks and he does have his way, just keep voting.
  3. Batting average means you can hit your way on base. OBP is great and all but you need to be able to get hits at times. He's never going to drive in 120 runs because he's just can't a ton of hits when he needs to. By the way it's hard for me to believe that Dunn can a a top 10 offensive player when he's basically a platoon player, .197 batting average against lefties :puke
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Nice to see the Sunday/Sweep lineup back in action. Well, I'm looking forward to it just as much as the rest of you, but, the next time Ozzie wonders why he isn't taken seriously on the national forum, he need not look any further than: Perez 1B or Dye 1B Konerko needs a day off, Konerko's also been scuffling, we have no one to back up first at this point, so I'm all for this move.
  5. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Hopefully, Timo is out shopping for luggage. It was hilarious seeing that midget playing 1B last month. At least Dye has some height. But for the love of God, when is Gload coming back? He should be back already, hopefully they bring him back soon.
  6. I'll be interested to see how this works out, this could definitely be an option for next year. Anderson in right, Jermaine at first.
  7. QUOTE(palesox38 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) I just heard on ESPN 1000 that Pods took the #1 spot from jeter. we have to keep him up ther. keep voting guys!!!! this is great news!!! Lets keep voting guys, don't let up.
  8. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Probably making fun of his bat That jokes been used twice already in this thread, you guys need some comedy lessons from Crede.
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Alright. So just pm Willie? He'll pm you.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) Maybe. And what's this league again? It's a sim league through a very cool game. You'd have to ask willie what teams are available but it's all soxtalk members, it'll be a good league.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) From Aaron Gleeman's column;
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) People keep saying play with Lebron? The Bucks might be better than the Cavs anyway. With Redd, their starting 5 would look like Bogut, J.Smith, D.Mason, Ford, and Redd. I'm assuming Ford will be healthy and ready to go by training camp. The Cavs would be better then Milwaukee with Redd. Did you get my pm?
  13. He's been playing first and leading off.
  14. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) Has anybody heard anything about Ross recently? He's tearing the cover off the ball for Charlotte, he's ready to come back, it's just a matter of Kenny and Ozzie making their minds up on who they want to send down.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) I still believe Walker got the nod because he's a lefty. I don't agree with it, but it's not my call to make. That's the only reason he got the call.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Looking at the standings, there's some interesting trends -- halfway point in the season, thought I'd take a look at the divisions sans the AL Central... In the AL East, Baltimore is just five games up after their hot start. I think once Boston gets Schilling back, they should take charge in that division. They're the only team who has decent starting pitching. They gotta get a lot of bullpen help, but at their staff is far better than anyone elses in that division. In the AL West, Oakland is back up to .500 after an awful start. They're certainly not as good as their month of June, but I think they should win anywhere from 81-88 games -- with a little luck, maybe winning the WC. I don't know, I don't think Anahiem is as good as they're playing now. Me and witesoxfan, it seemed like we were the only ones who didn't really think that team was very great in the offseason. I think their rotation isn't as good as Boston's/White Sox'/Twins' -- sorry, I just don't think that Colon/Washburn/Lackey/Byrd will hold up throughout the playoffs. Either way, Anahiem should run away with the division, just 'cause 90 wins seems like the clinching point -- unless Oakland really, really surges. In the NL West, the Dodgers have been hit with injury after injury. Izturis (sp?), Valentin, Penny, Gagne, Drew, and now Kent -- I'm sure I'm missing others, but they really haven't been with their whole team throughout the season, but they're chances seem -- eh, not good. Looks like unless Bonds really saves the Giants, that the Padres will take the NLWest. In the NL Central -- well, what's to say. Cardinals are good. Their rotation is Ok -- I mean, aside from Carpenter, no one in that rotation is pitching really well -- Mulder really doesn't scare me anymore. The Cubs -- well, they get talked about enough. The Brewers are the team that excites me in that division. Weeks, Fielder, Sheets, Lee, Turnbow, Overbay -- that's a nice lookin' core. Finally, in the NL East, looks like a damn good race. I don't see the Nationals playing this well throughout the rest of the year, and if Beckett isn't healthy, then the Marlins could be in some big trouble. The Braves can't really win that division again, can they? What do you guys think? Good stuff Keith. To answer your last question about the Braves, I learned to stop counting them out after last year, I thought they had absolutely no chance to win that division and of course they run away with it. By the way I agree with everything you said about the Angels, every word of it. They'll win that division without a true race but their rotation isn't very scary at all in my mind.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I got b****ed at for thinking he was gonna hit in the .260's- 270's this season after his great start. You make a crap load of those kind of predictions. Since he's struggling now I'd be willing to bet you that he ends up over .285. Not to mention he sacrifices himself a s***load for the team so especially with him the numbers aren't everything.
  18. Tough break for Dlee, he's a great player and actually one of the players on the cubs with some class. I wish him the best.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Easy for you to say. lol It would be hard for anybody to leave 20 million on the table. Very true, and I know 20 mill is a crap load to leave on the table but I think you got to take a chance, it's not like your going to be hurting for money with 72 mill. You want to win you go to Cleveland and "only" take the 72 mill.
  20. QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Vote the real way. :banghead What happened?
  21. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Do you really think you can argue this when you aren't in the clubhouse and dugouts with the teams? Maybe not but I think the Sox record with Frank in the lineup speaks for itself.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) I decided not to name anyone. Everybody knows who the culprits are. Sorry, if that was inappropriate for me to do, I'll get rid of the name.
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) As I read these game threads, you always get the same negative BS from the same negative posters. Thirty games over and these "Sox fans" still b**** and moan and direct inappropriate vulgarities or slander at our players. Disf***inggusting. I got to page 7 and I can't read this anymore, Jeckle you're a joke.
  24. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) I was just gonna say calling Frank vs. Vlad a draw is crazy... First of all, Vlad plays the field and has a gun in right... He can steal and is an all around great player.. No offense to Frank, but he is getting older and doesn't have that "superspeed" anymore, haha He's got a gun but he's also a very bad right fielder. I'm not calling Vlad vs Frank a draw but Franks pretty damn important to our offense.
