Ya, I'm not going to read this whole thread, I'll just add my thoughts. Ozzie is in love with the damn lefty-lefty bulls*** to damn much. If there's lefties coming up it's automatically a lefty coming in, Neal and Damaso have worked a little lately so he brings in Kevin Walker, why? because he's a damn lefty. Absolutely inexcusable mistake, ozzie definitely cost us the game, horrible, horrible managing today.

Sorry about the delay guys. Anyways with Pelfrey and Clement already off the board the Tigers take Ryan Braun

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) It was cold as f***ing hell at the Cell tonight. I don't blame anyone for not going to the game. I froze my balls off for nine innings so that's gotta be worth something. I was actually comfortable wearing shorts and my freddy jersey, I guess I'm just wierd cause my friend sitting next to me was freezing his ass off too.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) Very much so, thank you Edwin Encarnacion. You freakin cheater.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) It was pretty sweet when dye made that diving catch the entire crowd stood and applauded. Great energy today, just too many people drunk and losing they're baseball sense. The beauty about the cell is even when the park isn't filled the energy is always fantastic, unfortunately you always get a few idiots who have had to many.

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Great shot of Dye's swing. That was the first pitch, right? Nah, it was a 1-1 count.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Is the report that he hurt himself on the first AB, correct? If so, hang it up Juan. Running to first in his first ab looked like he pulled a hammy again.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) I haven't seen a perimiter player playing at the level Wade is playing at since you know who. Ben Gordon -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Ya, barried in Cabrera's stomach. He f***ing sculded that ball. All the f***ing drunks were ready to kill Uribe. Tell me about it, I had guys next to me calling for Damaso's head, people were yelling at him that he sucks. I can't believe he got booed when leaving the field.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I'm still pissed at that inning ending double play by Uribe. That ball was actually smoked, to bad it was in the wrong spot.

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Politte was interviewed by Farmer today, and he credits adding a change to lefties for his success. Whatever he's doing, it's working. Going right after the hitters, he's been ahead of the hitters all year and that's been the main reason imo for his success.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) I just watched the replay of Crede's homer at WhiteSox.com. That was probably his best swing in his career. It was perfect. Tonight he still had the hitch in his back and bringing his hands down, however he got his hands through the zone quick, hopefully he can keep the swing short and sweet.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Ahh... was just this past off-season that people did not want politte's option picked up let alone be resigned to a new deal. Anyone dare to look at some of the threads and things said about him during ST, I remember it wasn't pretty. Cliff and Damaso should both be used in the 7th and 8th, they've both been very good and both have earned that role imo.

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) Actually, the question said nothing about in-game skills. It's a matter of interpretation, not misunderstanding. Good point. It's all in how you interpret the question. If it's how his in game decisions have effected this team well it's a negative but if it's overall managerial presence then it's no doubt a positive effect.
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) That is my thing with all of this. You can question Ozzie's moves all you want to...because he makes boneheaded moves as a manager, but I doubt there is any other manager that has this team at 35-17, when push comes to shove. You're right, if we had a different manager we have a worse record, no doubt in my mind.
-
QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Good to see they were some cheapie hits, and that he didn't get knocked around. I go back to 2001-2003, and this guy was practically unhittable. You can only hope he finds that rhythm again. He's getting there. The best sign for me today was Damaso was getting ahead of hitters and he just got beat on a few ducksnorts, that's going to happen. I'm happy that ozzie went to him and talked to him right after the game to tell him to keep his head up. Damaso has been damn good this year and especially of late, he's just been more loose on the mound it seems to me.
-
This is a tough question to answer. It's tough cause his baseball decisions have cost us more then they've won us, however this team is much worse right now it ozzie isn't the manager, so it's a tricky question to answer.

QUOTE(rangercal @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Sox all stars: Buehrle , Garland, ( AJ deserves a look) something tells me we will have the best record and one all star. :headshake Honestly that's fine with me, I know it's fun to watch our guys play in the game but I just want them to be ready for the 2nd half of the season.

Don't the ballots come out in different countries a bit later, if that's the case Gooch will definitely fly up the ballots.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) because Joe Randa will be on this ballclub very soon. Crystal ball??
-
That's what I'd like to see, Aaron needs to stay in that 3 hole, everytime Aaron's batting 3rd the offense seems to click.
-
I feel bad for Miguel, he just can't lay off the down and away breaking ball from righties. I hope he can get it together, I really hope he succeeds.
-
I have no doubt the offense will be fine, the one guy that worries me is Crede. Juan will be fine, gooch, pods and aaron are fine right now. Pauly needs to get more consistant but atleast he's driving the ball. Aj's fine and he'll get better. The dh spot doesn't worry me cause that's franks spot and his swing looked fantastic on Monday and then between Carl and Jermaine in rf we should get some production, no doubt in my mind this O will be fine. That being said Crede still worries me a ton, though he was getting his hands through the zone much quicker today, hopefully that continues.
-
Damaso was fine today, he was ahead of the hitters and got beat on two little duck snorts, he'll be fine.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) In almost every category I can check, Uribe is at best mediocre when it comes to defense. His fielding percentage is .966, towards the lower 3rd of MLB SS's right now. His range factor is 4.46, putting him in the lower half of MLB. He's committed 7 errors already this season. For comparison...Vizquel has 3, Clayton has 4, etc. That's in the lower 3rd of MLB. Uribe is not yet an excellent defensive shortstop. With time at the position, he may become one, but he's not yet one. This is another reason I don't like defensive stats as much as some around here, with defense especially you have to watch the player play to make a correct assessment of that players ability.
