QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) How can you not worry about the new system? There's a difference between should and will. True, good point. I mean most of us agree the system is crap but you're right they could still take it into consideration. Anyways, I asked greasy this last night but what do you guys think IU needs to do to get in? -
Plus shingo, politte, damaso, hermy, viz, neal and diaz are throwing.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I might be. I still don't even know if I want to try out. My school is big and political and I do not like the coaches. I can't wait for Summer and Fall League though. That's the reason I quit basketball after my freshman year. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) That's the funny thing.. With the old RPI, the Sagarin, Indiana's a #50, and we're a 48 in that KenPom thing. However, with this new RPI, we're 21 spots worse at #71. Blah. Like I said Greasy, I wouldn't even worry about the new system. The committee shouldn't even take those numbers into consideration. -

QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Is that good or bad for me seeing games through MLB Extra Innings? You'll be fine. It's a different network then FSN but it'll work the same way for your pacakge.

QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) I was looking at the Sox TV schedule, and I notice a lot of games being broadcast on "CSN Chicago". Is that the same as Fox Sports Chicago, or is it something different? I'm a bit confused. Thanks in advance. It's comcast sports net.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) I can't see why you wouldn't be able to take your AAP. Whisler I suppose could be considered a bit of a sleeper as he hasn't proven himself yet. It's all up to you, it's just the rest of us may not deem him a possible sleeper. Fair enough, then I'll pick someone else
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) The '04 version (linked) of this thread was classic with BMac and Bullard going at it along with great discussions about the prospects. It came out a month earlier last year, but hey, better late than never. Hopefully we can have another great discussion. With what should be little surprise the people who correctly picked sleepers were mostly experts. Rex (Spidale), BMac (Tracey), and mccarthyp (Tracey) all have first hand experience with the players more than the rest of us and nailed it on the head. EvilJester99 with a solid (and possibly biased) pick of Baj also was a damn good sleeper pick. Ace also claims he had Tracey as his sleeper, but he receives no credit because he mooched the pick off the McCarthy's. So anyway, let's see who everyone has this year. A couple people made picks in September of 04 and a couple others have it in their sigs, but as we are in Spring Training it's more sensible to make a pick here and now. As for my pick I was going to take Adam Ricks, but he's been taken by DBAH0. And then I thought Tyler Lumsden (though I don't know how much of a sleeper he is), but he has also been picked thanks to SoxAce. In my continuing effort to be different I must pick a player before anyone else. I'm going with Adam Russell because he was developed going into the draft with 3 pitches. He's also suppposed to have a good head on his shoulders as in he's coachable. I think he's a good pick. I also like Evan Tartaglia (good speed, draws walks) and Lucas Harrell (young pitcher with good fastball). P.S. We are getting the FutureSox Top 25 out this week. Jason should be able to get it out sometime very soon, but then again he is very lazy so who knows when it will come out lol. Am I allowed to take AAP?? If so I got Wes then. Also, does he count as a sleeper?? If not I'll make a different choice.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) I agree with Kentucky over Kansas right now. I was projecting who i think will get them, and i think Kansas could end up getting it over Kentucky down the line here. Fair enough but I do think Kentucky will get a 1 seed. Anyways, espn is doing a new bracketology each day up until selection sunday. They're kind of pointlesss but fun to look at. Can't wait for Selection Sunday -

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines His personality has been different here, than what has been perceived from his days in Boston. I guess he's really comfortable here. He's too a great season from Carl Carl is going to have a monster year for us, I'm interested to see how Ozzie juggles the lineup once Frank is back but that's obviously a good problem to have. Also that lineup that is starting tomorrow is supposed to be the norm against right handed pitchers this year according to the score. I personally like Carl in the 3 spot over Dye against rhp, jmo.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Anyone think the Braves will win the division again? Even though I don't think they will, it wouldn't surpise me if they did once again. I do. I think Florida is the best team in the division but I think Atlanta will win it. Until they lose I will never pick against Atlanta again, I've done that the past few years and they just keep winning.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) I menat depleted in a relative way. We are a mid farm system. I think the big problemis that we don't have a guy that is major league ready that is a star waiting to happen. Sweeney,Anderson and Bmac could be there by 06, and it's going to take time to figure where Allen, Lucy,Gio , Lumsden and Fields go. One thing is for sure in the business of prospects: Nothing is a given Fair enough. I agree with what you said, though I guess Bmac and Anderson could be ready some time this year but hopefully we won't have to rush them.
-
No complaints from me at all, I just think all this depleted farm system stuff needs to be put to rest.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) This is starting to sound like a Jason Giambi type situation. I hope they figure this out pretty quickly. That's the exact same thing I was thinking. -
