Parting shots from Maggs
I hope his career goes to s***, I really do. I hope he rots away in Detroit. What a loser, honestly.

Greg Couch article on Maggs
QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) Does anyone think that is just a PR line or do you think he's serious? Do you think that Maggs would have really accepted arbitration? He just got a deal that could be up to 7 years 105 mill, he hired Borass for a reason, no way he would have accepted arbitration.

Official Superbowl XXXIX Thread
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) How bout Brett Favre doesn't pull a sharpie out of his ass or get his ass laid out at mid field at Texas stadium after a td. Ok, so he likes to celebrate, I don't see any reason why people would label the guy selfish because he wanted to play in the game, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind people would have been labeling Brett a warrior if he did something like this.

Anyone see the interview with T.O. He was talking about how the media was calling him selfish but he said if it was Favre they would have called him a warrior. Honestly, I can't argue with that.

2005 Draft Possibility for the Sox...
QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) I would really prefer not draft a reliever in the first round. I doubt he'll be there at 15, unless he has a bad spring, but the guy I want is Jeff Clement, a Catcher out SC (that's either Southern Cal or South Carolina, can't remember which...USC, I think). I'd like to get another catcher in the system. If not that, an SS or an SP. In BA, they had us taking a high school SS, can't remember his name though. Bristow, I think. Yup, this is what they have to say: 15. Justin Bristow, ss/rhp, Mills Godwin HS, Richmond, Va. Possesses big bat and powerful arm, but lack of speed may push him to third base as a pro

Anyone going to the Sox-Brewers games?
I might get up to Miller but it depends, there is a shot now I might get out to tucson for the last week, if so I won't going to Milwaukee, if I don't get down to Tucson I'll definitely be there for the Milwaukee games, we'll see.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Did we or did we not offer Ordonez 70 million dollars? We did, a lot of writers just don't do their hw and they get paid for this junk, unbelievable.

I'm not a huge fan of Owens or anything but I think it'd be pretty cool to see him score a td here. Not gonna happen though.

2005 Draft Possibility for the Sox...
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) Royce Ring was considered a "closer" but Baseball America and other experts said he could be a closer but had more of set-up man stuff. This guy is a power pitcher which Ring wasn't. Who cares if he's a power pitcher. I agree to take the best overall player available however I don't think taking a relief pitcher in the first round is a good idea, jmo.

Bulls AT Heat
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) What happened to the Bulls? Three losses in a row, is it possible that I was drunk on the black and red kool-aid and didn't see that they really sucked? Miami is just a better team, period. The bulls will be fine.

Newsday: Ordonez To Sign 5 Yr/75 Mil Contract
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) No one's defending the Beltre contract. Both are overpayment by two franchises that won't sniff the playoffs this year. I agree with that.
