4-7 GT: CWS @ SEA (3:10 PM CT)
That game was also still tied. I feel like when people talk about the AJ play in particular people talk about it like the Sox were losing and were going to automatically lose that game if that specific thing didn't happen.

Tony just did something I never saw Ricky do ever...
I don't think anyone thought he was going to be amazing right off the bat because most people hated the damn hire to begin with. The sky isn't falling, the season isn't over but these type of games early when you're most likely going to be scratching and clawing for a playoff spot could absolutely come back to bite us and I'm not going to write it off to "meh he'll get better."

Baseball Philosophy - “Closers”
Yup, agree with both of you.

What’s the date when we finally beat a right handed starting pitcher this year?

What if Yermin Mercedes keeps hitting?
Ya, I obviously have 0 idea if he can continue to hit in the majors but his track record of hitting in the minors is not short. Dude has been doing it for a ton of years now.

Chill out guys
It's 4 games, I get that and most others do too. What does make me a bit nervous is everything I was worried about coming into the season has already kind of showed through. This offense might be very average against right handed pitching, Cease might still not be very good, Tony might be stuck in 1995 and this team has 0 depth anywhere besides the bullpen where apparently Ruiz is going to pitch in the 9th inning. Like I said, I'm not freaking out, it's ridiculously early in a very long season but there are worries with this team.

What we learned from Opening Day
My bad, my bad. Let me clarify: The hall of famer baseball person, Tony, not the hall of famer soxtalk poster, Tony.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
Absolutely. But the thing is if the Sox think highly enough to have him on the roster it's because they think his bat is as advertised. If it's as advertised then he's your best bet there to tie the game up. Him not starting is obviously a whole other bag here because that annoyed me to begin with but ya, I just think the whole situation was handled wrong.

What we learned from Opening Day
In Tony's opinion(I guess) that isn't a good matchup for Vaughn. There's nothing out there to suggest that Vaughn can't hit those type of pitchers.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
Vaughn should have been hitting for Leury imo. But that's down the list of things that went wrong last night so I'm not going to harp on it too much.

What we learned from Opening Day
Ahh the early 2000's Oakland games. Memories...

What we learned from Opening Day
Maybe nobody, maybe everybody. I know everyone is excited about those 2(especially Dylan) after the spring but none of us have any idea what either of them are bringing to the table this year.

What we learned from Opening Day
Well that's my issue with sporting events I care about...it's not that I'm up until midnight watching the game but I'm always amped up after and can't fall asleep for a few hours as well. Just makes for a long night.

What we learned from Opening Day
It was last night...

What we learned from Opening Day
I'm the opposite end of the coin here. I stayed out until after the game was over and now I'm just dying at work today. Not fun.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
He was over throwing it looked like to me. When Gio gets amped you can literally see it on his face.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
Struggle isn't fair but they were very, very average against RHP last year and that's why the Eloy injury scared the crap out of me as he was one of the guys that hit them very well.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
He's easy to pile on because of the passed ball stuff which is absolutely frustrating but ya saying he's a bad pitch framer is obviously silly.
-
What we learned from Opening Day
The end. It's always going to be frustrating to lose games like that but it's 1 game in 162, shake it off and don't do it again.

**Movies that we Watch** Thread
Oh dude, there was some stupid ass shit as far as the actual story, I just didn't really care because I just wanted a fun movie of monsters fighting monsters and I got 2 hours of that.
-
**Movies that we Watch** Thread
Ya, add me to the Godzilla v Kong movie was fun as hell bandwagon. As Kyle said, couldn't care less about humans at all in these type of movies and they did a good job of keeping with monster fights monster vibe.

4-1 GT: CWS @ LAA (9:05 PM CT)
Having your top prospect in a platoon role(especially the lesser of it) is truly an awful idea. I really hope that isn't the case.

I hate to be that guy on opening day but...we're for real starting Vaughn on the bench?
