  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 05:21 AM) Show is dull but he's had decent matches in the past year with big guys. I've always been a Lesnar mark so it works either way. If Batista wins the Rumble, ill self mutilate. Maybe Agreed on Big Show, he bores the hell out of me as a face(he has his moments as a heel), I would have much rather gone Lesnar-Henry but oh well, not going to complain about that too much. Anywho, I hope I'm wrong but it looks like your main event at mania is skinny jeans/nose ring vs. Orton and then Punk-HHH is the other one that is pretty much set in stone. I still think we're getting Brock-Taker as well unless Sting finally decides to jump on board. What's that leave for Bryan and Cena? With HBK on the Rumble panel, I'm hoping that somehow gets them to set up HBK-Bryan at mania and I'll be a happy person even with that god awful main event.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) The paragraph I just wrote said nothing of that. It asked whether the writer could have written a perfectly solid expose on the putter without the gender issues coming up at all. Frankly, yes he could have. I'd have to find the link again but I already saw a version of that where someone else had rewritten it in that way. If that would have happened, I guarantee someone else would have discovered that Dr. V was transgendered and it would have became public knowledge anyways.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) Let's be fair here...as far as the article presented, the author did not seem to show interest in actually looking at the science of the putter itself. It was treated very tangentially in the article, and the article featured virtually no talking to anyone in the actual company or involved in the design, production, or promotion of the putter itself. The author never met with the main person in the story nor did he really seem to meet with anyone working on the product itself. Based on the way that article was written...if Ms. Vanderbilt had offered additional details on the putter or the science, does it seem like the author would have been interested? Maybe he would have been, but the article itself doesn't show that at all. He finds reasonable questions to ask about the background of the person, asks them, but in the process gets dropped a juicy personal detail and that becomes the #1 point of the article from that second on. He seemed very interested about the putter. I also think Dr. V's first email back to him basically saying "don't you dare look into who I am" peaked his curiousity.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 09:30 PM) Maybe MSU can play with Kansas but that's about it. I think there's a few teams that are right there with them but it's funny how all it took was big 12 play for KU to get their s*** together. Bill Self just owns that conference.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) He has been medically cleared from his concussion last week. Ya I saw that. I meant along the lines that I think they're saving him as a "surprise" entrant that blows the roof off the stadium. All the Wyatt's destroy him after their match, kayfabe wise he's just done then music hits during the the rumble and the crowd explodes. That said, if they do that he better win cause you take the chance of the crowd s***ting on Batista if Bryan is in the rumble and doesn't win.
  6. Anyone else find it bizarre how they're not saying whether Bryan is or isn't in the Rumble?
  7. Ok I'm bored of Batista already.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 06:05 PM) I think Simmons' piece is very-well done and I agree with just about all of it. Christina Kahrl's piece, on the other hand, is a bit ridiculous. I'm trying to think about the relationship between the fact that Vanderbilt was a transgender person and the fact that that's also what threw Caleb Hannan off her scent. I find them almost inseparable and therefore necessary to the story. I said as much Saturday. Do we, as a society, have a ways to go when it comes to accepting and learning to properly respect transgender people? Yes, absolutely. I think about the progress made with gay and lesbian folks and think about that same progress when it comes to transgender people. On the other hand, this trend we also seem to have as a society to celebrate faux outrage and morality dick-measuring contests is also quite bothersome. We're all so quick to trip over each other in an attempt to see who can be the most morally or politically correct Mother Theresa, and that usually happens shortly after the first person stands up and begins imparting blame (as we saw in this case). Frankly, if it took 56 hours for someone to do so, and then turned into an all-out cascade of criticism, I find that pretty compelling evidence. I shudder to think we may enter an age in publishing where a writer can't report an interesting story without fear of somehow offending someone for something. I love this post.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) Richard Sherman used PEDs - he claimed it was adderall, but the NFL drug policy prevents the NFL from specifying the offending substance, triggering every player to say they used adderall since it doesn't strike people like steroids do. The NFL can't correct them Nah he claimed he wasn't taking adderall, it was widely reported that was what he tested positive for.
  10. At this point I'm not moving Quintana or Johnson whether we land Tanaka or we don't but that's just me.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) Nothing's going to happen today. I mean, at 11:45 AM CST, it's currently 2:45 AM JST. Tanaka is SLEEPING. You don't know that.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) I cant wait until New York has an absolute s*** weather superbowl. Lets get a a few feet of snow followed by negative temps I'm sure Seattle would love that.

    QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) holy s*** Alexandra Daddario im in love. How far you have come from Percy Jackson I AGREE. You happy now?
  15. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 11:04 AM) I would love douchebag Sherman playing for my Bears... Everybody would, even the people that really hate him wont deny that. The guy is arguably the best cover corner in the game, he's a model citizen off the field(yes I know...the adderall thing), nobody would turn him down because he talks trash.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 10:29 AM) Sherman explains himself Thug for sure.
  17. It is indisputable that Steve Kerr is better than LeBron though.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 10:02 AM) Compare Jameis Winston and Richard Sherman's reactions. Winston had a rather violent and emotional postgame speech as a redshirt freshman in college. Nobody (other than Dee Dee McCarron) had any sort of negative reaction to that speech. Winston's speech actually annoyed the hell out of me. And I disagree, Twitter blew up after Winston as well.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) I understand people don't like Sherman, but I love the guy. He is the perfect heel, he has a crazy mouth and he can back it up with his play. Must be the wrestling fan in us but I completely agree.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) RichardSherman4life. That s*** was hilarious. His emotions took over and I love it. Agreed.
  21. Nice payday Shack! This sb should be fantastic!
