  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) In my opinion, if Dylan Bundy were on the table, Peavy would already be in Baltimore. Tommy John or not. Last year he was the best starting pitching prospect in all of baseball. He's still going to be a stud. I'd take that chance and be really excited about it. I have no idea what Hahn is thinking but I agree with the rest of your post. Bundy is the type of talent ill take a shot on.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 01:32 PM) Jake Peavy: Traded (St Louis) Alex Rios: Traded (Pittsburgh) Alexei Ramirez: Traded (St. Louis) Jesse Crain: Traded (Tampa) Matt Lindstrom: Traded (Boston) Adam Dunn: Traded (Baltimore) That'd be nice but I don't think there's enough time for that all to occur at this point.
  3. Too bad, Gonzalez is a good beat writer.
  4. I hope they don't mind. Assuming Danks recovers a tad bit more they're all quality pitchers, who cares if they're all left handed?
  5. I've never called JR cheap but we should have some payroll flexibility, we should be able to pick up a few mill if it means getting higher level talent in here. Once gain, I have no idea what's going on so I'm not criticizing yet but I would definitely be upset if we're not willing to pick up some cash to bring in more talent.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:30 PM) Well, Gerrit Cole picked and ate a booger on TV today I did see that. My favorite part is how he looked around to see if any cameras were on him before he ate it. Oops.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:26 PM) Andy Towne ‏@SportsTowne 1m Alen Hanson has returned to the dugout. Hugging has not commenced. He's just watching the game. #Pirates #Hugwatch Well what the hell do we talk about now?
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:10 PM) A long, long track record is relevant here The attractiveness of a guy like Schierholtz in the trade market is that you WOULDN'T have to trade a guy like Hanson to get him Not to mention trading within the division. If you're the Cubs you don't give a crap who you're trading to but if you're the Pirates in that situation, giving up a top prospect to a division rival when there are similar/better players out there would be odd. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:13 PM) Probably because minor leaguers get pulled from games all the time and it normally doesn't mean anything And this one probably doesn't mean anything I agree but there seemed to be media all over it last time he was pulled, granted Rios was pulled at the same time so there was quite a lot going on.
  9. Kinda funny cause it seems like none if the media anywhere has picked up on Hanson getting pulled yet.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:56 PM) Cubs better not be getting Hanson for him That would be frustrating. Doubt that happens though.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:44 PM) Semien walked again. I think that's 14 out of 15 getting on base. Ya but I think we can all agree that it's unacceptable for him to ever strikeout!
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) Konerko with a gem: https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/361609448223031298 That's fantastic.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:02 PM) Not so sure on Crain. There's no reason not to trade him.
  14. Well soccer is back on, let me know how we lose!
  15. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 04:09 PM) Why should the Sox eat any of a reasonably priced salary? If it can get you a better package of prospects then you do it. Like others have said though, no reason to jump to conclusions yet. Everything is a negotiating ploy at this point, I'll reserve judgement until a trade is completed.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) Jeesh, when the Sox suck I really don't follow baseball enough. Ha I'm the same way.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) What happened Single up the middle with Blake on 2nd, thrown out at home.
  18. hahahahahahaha. great throw!
  19. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) Gordon, Moustakas, Myers, Hosmer and Cain. One of them is tearing it up. The rest are average to garbage. It's a numbers game, the more great prospects you have the better odds that someone turns to be a star. Add 2-3 more really talented guys to the system and there's a better chance that one or some of these guys will turn out to be solid major leaguers.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) Just outside of Nashville for me. I have spent quite a bit of time there and love it. My work would need to happen out of the West End. I haven't traveled to too many places in my life but Nashville would definitely be my number 1 for the places I've been.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) I have a hard time fathoming the Cardinals are willing to give up three of their top five prospects in any deal. Just not Cardinals' MO. They promote from within and utilize young players' cheap contracts. I'm sure they're discussing a combination of those players, no chance we're going to get all 3.
