Who is your opening day starter?
QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 10:50 AM) at KC- Shields, Giolito, Lopez at Tor- Gonzalez, Fulmer, Shields First home series- vs Det- Giolito, Lopez, Gonzalez I'm on board with this. Team isn't winning this year so I don't really care who starts opening day but let one of the kids start the home opener to give the crowd something fun to start the season.

The Challenge: Vendettas Thread
Ya I've enjoyed the first two episodes so far. Good mix of old and new.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 26, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) Kind of upset WWE put the tag titles on Rollins and Jordan. This is 100 percent me speculating here but I'm guessing they use that as a way to make Ambrose pissy when he comes back(he's not going to be out 9 months) and turn him heel.

Brewers Acquire Christian Yelich & sign Lorenzo Cain
QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Dec 22, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) Eaton is 29, Yelich is 25. Those 4 years make a huge difference. Yelich is 26, Eaton was 28 when we traded him so not as huge as a difference. I'm fine with them being intrigued and if he comes at a reasonable price then I'm all about it. He's not going to come at a reasonable price though and to be honest, I don't want any part of him with what he is going to cost.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 19, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) Trae Young, 29 points and 22 assists in 29 minutes, dear God His first half against the Shockers over the weekend is one of the best halves I've seen a college kid play in a looooong time. This kid is absolutely incredible. He's the best player in college basketball and it's not close.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 18, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) Try and keep up, son. My post was out of date. Hope it means Vince is handing the controls over for good while he wastes more of Steph and Shane's inheritance on something else. It was from Saturday night and legit people picked up on it Friday night. I saw the date of it and wouldn’t miss a chance to tell you you’re wrong.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 16, 2017 -> 08:50 PM) I don’t believe it since some unverified dude on twitter reported it. Nobody else has picked it up. He’s too old to start another venture, especially resurrecting one that failed. This isn't true. A lot of the legit reporters picked up on it Friday night after the rumor started. There's a lot of smoke there. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 18, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) I was happy with last night's show. Jinder still sucks in the ring, but overall the show kept me entertained. Agreed for the most part. US title match and tag titles match were super fun. KO/Sami vs. Nak/Randy wasn't great in the ring but told the story perfectly and I loved the ending. The WWE title match was probably the most uninteresting match AJ has had all year but that's cause of the competition.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (Quin @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) Avi + Adams + Puckett Yes/No? Ya, that's something I do in a heart beat. Trading TA at this point is a bad idea especially for one year of Manny.

Well I'm not going to sit here and argue about this. You can revisit this in a month or probably a week when they're playing awful again.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 06:23 PM) ChrisnfreakingSale should have gotten at least 3 real prospects, we got two. Face it, DD hoodwinked RH when he added Diaz and Basabe. It's over, who cares. I was just sticking up for Balta. This is such an awful opinion.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) Because they play them 18 or 19 times. It is very understandable. If the White Sox word isn't good enough, then it won't happen. Probably won't happen anyway. There has to be at least one top guy in the package or it makes no sense for Baltimore. It's not understandable at all. You said yourself that there's not going to be an extension(which I completely agree with) and with out Machado they aren't going to be competing so why the heck wouldn't you just get the best possible pacakge? EDIT: For the record, my post is solely about Baltimore not wanting to trade him to the Yankees.

Piscotty to As trade official
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 04:39 PM) I don't think the Cardinals are anywhere near blowing it up. They pretty consistently put a good team on the field with a fairly steady stream of prospects in the minors. This is a good move by them too. Agreed on all of this. And they have plenty of money to spend when they want to. They're fine.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 03:55 PM) Cardinals and Red Sox Cardinals make sense. Reyes or no Reyes I could see being the hold up there. Hence maybe the Orioles trying to run with a Sox leak as they're one of the few teams that could match/outdo Reyes. Pure speculation on my part obviously.

2017-18 official NBA discussion thread
This team is still really bad as is, Niko isn't going to shoot 60 percent all year. The tank will be fine. Things do change a bit when Lavine comes back but you wait as long as possible to bring him back. Like make sure he's all the way healthy.

I don't see the actual point in driving the price up for Machado? I'm not buying that.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) What do people think that Machado would sign an extension here? He knows literally nothing of this organization beyond perhaps some of its players. It seems extremely unlikely that he would forsake his golden free agency to sign an extension with an organization to which he is brand new. This would be a one-rental player, albeit with a chance to make an impact on him going into his free agency, in a year in which the Sox will still not be contenders. I don't think there's a chance he signs an extension no matter where he ends up. This is just all hypothetical discussion.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Unless he comes with a guaranteed 5-7 year extension would you even trade Kopech for Machado straight up? I wouldn't. This will probably sounds nuts to people but I'm not including Kopech in a deal for Machado even if he signed an extension. All the sudden you're losing a lot of your payroll flexibility and you're losing your potential ace. We have some pitching depth in this organization but we don't have Kopech depth. You weaken your future rotation a great deal and you lose a lot of this payroll flexibility you've gained. I'm really not a fan of doing that even for a guy like Manny.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) This kinda reminds me of an auction draft in fantasy sports. A good player comes up and you start bidding kinda high to not waste time, then nobody else is bidding and you start to panic. Baltimore is like "YOU ARE THE BEST OFFER" and now Hahn is like "What, NO! Probably not us. SOmeone else is gonna bid. Can't be us" Lol this is wonderful.

Hansen and Robert aren't untouchable for me but we have to be getting an absolute superstar back(especially for Alec) if we're trading them. Yelich is a very, very good player but he's not there.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 10:44 PM) His peripherals in the bigs weren't that good, but I'll take him having some confidence for next year over anything. But you wouldn't trade him and Dunning for Machado with an extension. Everything you're saying adds up.
