Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) I don't know about anybody else, but I hope the Sox lose every game next season and that all of the players get AIDS. That's just me, though. Oh, and I will be especially happy if I'm right about all of this. Aids was sooooo a few years ago. It's all about cancer now.

Spring Break Help
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) I spent all of my spring breaks in Normal, IL. It's the ultimate spring break destination. Ha, when I was in school I definitely spent all my spring breaks in Carbondale just because I couldn't bare to miss any of March Madness. Now, we're talking about going to Vegas for the first week of March Madness which is going to be amazing/horrendous for my wallet, car, limbs, whatever else I can bet when I'm down there, can't wait!

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
Well if anything, Greg and Joe Cowley sure know how to bring people together on this board. We have a bunch of level headed people arguing about this situation and then Cowley writes a horrendous article, followed by a joke of a post by Greg and we're back to all agreeing. Thanks guys!

Spring Break Help
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) So Im trying to plan a spring break trip for a bunch of seniors, and we thought South Padre Island, TX would be awesome to go to, so I found a great place on the beach for a reasonable price but when I emailed them for more details they said if we need a parent present, even though all of us would be 21. Im trying to keep the costs low, and renting a house seems like the best choice, but any ideas on how to convince them or alternatives for us? Well that's just absurd. Just call and b**** at the guy for a bit. I've had plenty of friends rent a place for spring break trips and they never had problems.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) So instead of picking from a group of candidates that either managed playoff teams or were heavily involved in playoff caliber organizations, and had deep insight into current rosters across the league, we picked the guy that was last seen manicuring his lawn? And for all we know he's the best manager of the bunch, we just don't know.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) Yes, there is. You could hire someone who's had experience as a manager or coach at some motherf***ing point in his entire life. And as mentioned there have been plenty of managers who have succeeded with out prior coaching experience. I'm certainly not excited about this move but I'm not disappointed either, it's clearly a wait and see type move. I completely understand why everyone wants to trash every move this organization makes(and I've been right there with you guys most of the time) but Robin hasn't been apart of this garbage, I'll wait to see what he can do before I condemn this move.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) Nobody has a f***ing clue how this guy is at managing, Exactly, so there's no reason to completely s*** on the move yet either.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) What makes me angry about it is that he didn't have to put in the time. There are a half dozen other guys who have put in the time and effort to show me that they care about the game, that they've learned how to be a manager, that they're 100% committed to climbing the ladder the right way. Robin Ventura has absolutely not done that. And it pisses me off that the job is his without even a hint of time spent proving himself. And I really couldn't care less about any of that. If he can manage then he can manage, I don't know if he can but I'm going to wait before I get pissed off about it. Robin is clearly an intelligent baseball person but that doesn't mean he's going to be a good manager but it certainly doesn't mean he's going to be a bad one either. I do agree that this is a very White Soxish(ya I'm making s*** up) hire but there's no reason to completely overreact about it at this point.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) I'm getting angrier by the second. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do a full boycott in 2012. No going to games, not even watching them on TV. Should probably give the guy a chance. I've been in just as much of an uproar as anyone at the direction of the organization but we literally know NOTHING about Robin as a manager. I'm very confused by the move but I'm not angry about it, Robin might just be a very bright manager, we have to wait and see.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Screw experience if he knows the game. Plenty of experienced managers make the same ass-headed moves game in and game out. That's how I feel. It's a f***in joke on paper BUT I'll wait and see since I literally know nothing about him as a manager.
