QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) You lineup looks like the team. Seriously will it be the slowest team in the history of baseball? Very very slow. Maybe slowest team in Sox history? No No No

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) This, IMO, might be better news that Ozzie leaving! Sweet jesus, I am so ready for next season to start! I'm ready for the offseason to begin, lets see what Kenny can do with this mess...

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) Both wild cards will be tied on the last day of the season. Tomorrow night is going to be fun. And I have a holiday dinner to attend, how f***in awesome Stupid religion I don't even believe in.

QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) It really wasn't that good. I watched it some day after hearing it was a solid flick, but I thought it was very forgettable. On that note, just saw Moneyball. It was alright, but there were a lot of little issues that kept me from being truly immersed in the film. It's a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes right now, which is grossly overrating how good the movie actually is. It's very slow paced, and while the dialogue is solid (afterall, it's Sorkin), there's no point in seeing the movie if you've read the book. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it at all, but when it comes down to it, read the book instead. As a die hard baseball fan was it more the baseball content that turned you off or the actual movie itself?

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Hewitt, right? Yup. Definitely enjoyed the documentary. In 2003, I was a rabid Cubs hater, where I grew up and where I went to high school made it an all out hell at that time for a Sox fan. That year in general just couldn't be worse with the Cubs seemingly on their way to the World Series and the Sox having arguably the best team on paper in baseball getting b**** slapped by the Twins in September per usual. So what happened to the Cubs was definitely one of the highlights of my sports life at the time. Anyways, I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion around here but if I were a Cubs fan, I'd still partially blame Bartman for what happened. Obviously Alex Gonzalez and Mark Prior deserve a s*** ton of the blame as well but there's no doubt in my mind that if Alou indeed makes that catch(which he would have) then that Cubs team goes on to win the World Series. I do hope one day that he will come out of hiding and we can get a good interview with him. Despite me being one of the few that still actually believes he deserves some blame for what happened to the poor Cubs, there's no doubt that Bartman has handled the whole situation in a stand up way.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Honestly, bad haircut and lost too much weight. Definitely on the haircut, disagree with the weight loss though.

AND THAT'S A MARK BUEHRLE WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Rowand44 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
LOVE Mark Buehrle. Whether he's back on the Sox next season or moves on, I wish that guy nothing but the absolute best. -
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) No him winning put them on the Map.. I'm still mystified how this organizational mess is 100 percent Kenny's fault but he gets 0 percent of the credit for the World Series in 05.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) Haha yea this. So my apartment is thinking of doing kind of a date night this Sunday. We (I) always grill every sunday, so we were going to have all the girls that each of us are seeing or want to see over and grill outside with them, then do something like bowling and finish up with smores outside again. Lame or good idea? Just invite over Soxtalk to be your wing man. Seriously though, with a decent sized group of people, that's just fine.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Ahhh. I think I get it now. Ha. I decided to be a grammar nazi just to f*** with ya. Like I said, at this point, I'm very torn on whether I actually believe MB is coming back or not. I really don't have a clue. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Jerry will bring him back. Mark my words. That went over your head, buddy. I'm certainly not counting out a Buehrle return. Either way, that was handled perfectly by Coop tonight. The last 2 nights, I've actually been proud to be a Sox fan for the first time in a while. -

QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Ozzie, made this Organization matter again... KW didn't. Sorry to lay cold hard facts on ya. You really make 0 sense. It's more laughable each and every time you post.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Props to Coop for the way he handled that, just awesome. Most definitely. Think we can get a rain delay so Mark can go sliding on the tarp to send him off correctly? -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) A play-in game is in Tampa, correct? Yes.

Does anyone know where the hell Bart Man(in my best Wilbon voice) is now a days? Was so nuts that he was actually working with my step mom when everything occured.

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Which one of these sounds better...I need a running back, I have elite receivers and have an oppurtunity to pick up Chris Johnson well under his potential 1) I get Chris Johnson and Dwayne Bowe for DeAngelo Williams and Roddy White 2) I get Chris Johnson and Marques Colston for Hakeem Nicks and DeAngelo Williams I am definitely leaning to #1, just hoping Nicks has a year just like last for me 2.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Top 15 picks are protected right? That could be huge. Yes and definitely.

I'm just taking a wait and see approach at this point. I'm absolutely thrilled that Ozzie is gone but I still need to see the direction that we're going in here. I would have preferred to see Kenny fired as well but I can actually deal with him being given another year where as I would have thrown a hissy fit if Ozzie was back. My biggest hope at this point is that JR stays away from anything to do with personnel decisions of this club and allows Kenny to 100 percent do his job.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) I think you guys take what Ozzie says way too seriously. Of course he wanted the big big bucks from Florida but it never gets to this point if the White Sox want him. Never. KW won this battle fair and square (in my opinion by sucking up to the boss, Jerry whereas Ozzie would not do that) unfortunately for Ozzie lovers like me. Are you s***ting me?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Ozzie did say the one thing he's always been is honest. A minute later, he said there was no truth to him going to the Marlins anytime soon. And he's not taking any of his coaches with him either.
