  1. Well, SIU-Illinois tonight. This should be embarrassing.

    Nashville, TN

Just go downtown and bar hop. Nashville is a f***in blast.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Holy sh*t, Kevin Love Ok game.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) That's what some said about Thome also Thome was still putting up a mid .800 ops with us, Dye couldn't bring .800 in 09 and that's while being one of the worst regulars in baseball the 2nd half of that season. Not to mention he's been out of the game for a year now and it'd be a terrible pick up.
  5. QUOTE (Lillian @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 06:10 AM) I have the same answer to this suggestion that I have to most of the candidates recommended on this forum, ie: "He is another right handed hitter, and this team desparately needs a LEFT HANDED BAT". Or just another good hitter or 3. But Dye makes no sense whatsoever at this point.
  6. Miami might not be able to win 70 by the end of this calendar year. Hilarious.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) Am I the only one that feels Danks has hit his ceiling? Not saying that's a bad thing. But it seems for the last couple years he was expected to have that 'dominant' season which vaults him into the elite. He's been roughly the same pitcher for the last three years. He's still only 25(26 when the season starts), while it's certainly possible that he's reached his ceiling, I think he's still far too young to say that for sure.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) Alexei had 768 fielding chances... Jeter had 553. That's a difference of more than 200. Seriously it's no wonder Jeter only had 6 errors... at least he fields the balls that are hit right to him cleanly. hahahaha, that's ridiculous.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) How so? As long as Kobe is healthy, they have a shot. No, they absolutely don't.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 10:14 AM) If the zombies are similar to those in The Walking Dead or the original Romero films, it might be kind of fun. And if they're similar to those in the new Romero films or 28 Days Later, that's simply terrifying. I've always wanted to fight zombies, seems like fun.

    'Conan' Thread

Hanks segment was pretty damn funny.
  12. This award is seriously a disgrace to baseball.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) What the hell happened tonight? Looks like we should be ranked after all. Heh, and Quincy beat Bradley, National Championship here we come!
  14. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) Not sure that's how it went down, but okay... What the hell happened tonight? Looks like we should be ranked after all.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) Pittsburgh in a dog fight with URI. Up 2 with a 1:41 left. Pitt's going to hang on. Nice way to open up the College Hoops season though.
  16. Pittsburgh in a dog fight with URI. Up 2 with a 1:41 left.
  17. I agree with Mr. Cooper. It's a really, really tough decision but the fact that our pen is quite thin at the moment and we don't have a lot of money to work with, Chris almost has to be apart of it if we have thoughts of being contenders this season.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) He won this award on opening day. I'm not joking. He absolutely did. He definitely deserves this award but that play is what actually won it for him, for sure.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Pretty much. And this is sorta off-topic, but there was a great article on ESPN (one that I can't post because it's premium content) breaking down the Sox' ineptitude defensively this past year. According to Baseball Info Solutions, the Sox were 5th worst in baseball with a -30 runs saved total. And the positions of 1B/3B/RF produced a staggering -65 runs saved. That boggles the mind. We ain't ever gonna close the gap on the Twins until we start catching the f***ing baseball. CQ has no business in RF, and unless we can sign Adrian Beltre (no chance in hell of happening), Morel deserves first dibs at 3B. Mark Teahen has no business playing a significant role on any team with hopes of contending. f***ing dumbass extension. I'm done now. Well if you're counting Morel as the starting 3b at this point, every one currently thought to be in our starting lineup besides CQ(and hopefully Q isn't the every day rf this upcoming season) is at least above average defensively, so there's a start.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) I can't wait for 24 hours of college basketbal next Tuesday with SIU playing at 9am. It's going to hurt to not be able to go to that. That would have been so much damn fun.
  21. Buehrle's list of accomplishments is getting kind of ridiculous. He's had a pretty decent career I'd say.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Lee is still an upgrade there regardless. He's easily as good as if not better than Konerko at scooping and is head and shoulders better range-wise. I agree.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) What makes you think Lee is done exactly? He put up an .850 OPS with the Braves after he was traded. He had a terrible first half and put up a .298 .373 .516 .888 in the second half. I'd like to know how you are basing your evaluation of Lee to state that he is "done". And he said with regards to range where Konerko is one of the worst in the league at 1B. He said "especially with regards to range" meaning he's talking about the whole package here.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) I don't know. With their respective injury histories and salaries, Sizemore and Quentin might be closer in value than first glance. Grady has had more than one really good season, plays better defense, is a better baserunner, etc. He still absolutely has more value than CQ.
