  1. People have been waiting for Mark to break down or the league to catch up to him for years now. Mark's going to have a bad year every now and then but I highly doubt he's just going to completely break down and become a bad pitcher, ever. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think he has a shot in hell at getting to 300 wins(or getting in the HOF for that matter) but he'll be good until he retires.
  2. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) It was in one of the biggest parks in the league though. I believe they've brought the fences in a little bit, but it's still huge. Ya, that really didn't come into effect though. If anything it hurt him a bit cause he got blooped to death.
  3. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) still worse than Vazquez Ya, I think I lost that battle. Couldn't be happier to be wrong.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) Srsly? You should probably be suspended for that thing. I know you actually don't like the guy but still, that is one scary thing to look at.
  5. BMac's era is now better than Danks'. Brandon has really gotten his s*** together, starting to pitch the way that a lot of us thought he would.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) De Los Santos pitched tonight in relief...nice line. Kannapolis Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA De Los Santos 3.0 1 0 0 1 5 0 2.40 He good.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:05 PM) Well anyone have any guesses on what Baltimore would want? They just wont trade him.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) I doubt there's any team in the big leagues which uses "Work quickly on the mound" as a mantra as much as the Sox. And strangely...it keeps working. Buehrle is a good role model.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) They also have him working much quicker, which really keeps the batters off balance. He had Maggs especially look as bad as anyone ever does. I think that's another sign of improved confidence. But I definitely agree with you.
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) You mean Gavin Floyd, right? Gavin should be so lucky. I only see about 430 out of him.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) Row is the Dick Vitale of the college football. I do what I can.
  12. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) How were Hawk and Stone together? DJ was still there today. Stone starts Tuesday.
  13. QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) Classy of you to post this. Floyd showed a big glimpse of his talent this afternoon, let's hope he continues to progress as you stated. Pitched inside, used his change a bit more often and showed the poise to pitch over some bad calls/defense. I think all of those things show just how much more confident he was today. He needs to string several good starts together in a row now, but he was terrific today. Like I said in the game thread, hopefully this will be the confident boost needed to go along with the talent that he does have.
  14. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) You seriously think the Sox should sign Bonds? Big distraction, career is going down hill... we need young players who can play defense and utilize some speed, not a 43 year old club house cancer who is way past his prime. That 1.049 ops of his would cripple the offense.
