  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) I'm sending Pods to your house in a cake on your bday. That's going to be his profession in a year or two.
  2. If you could actually find a decent young ss for him(I doubt it) then I'd trade him in a minute. That being said, I certainly wouldn't dump him just to dump him, he definitely has talent.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) Not only was John Rooney good, but he was so good, he made Ed Farmer "listenable." That is the best compliment I could think of. Ha, I like that. It's very true.
  4. I think Javy is officially the best pitcher of all time.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) I guess I was the only one who didn't care for Rooney. His voice wasn't pleasing to my ear. You might be the only person in the history of the world who didn't care for Rooney.
  6. He's obviously one strong dude. He literally just flicked his wrists on a pitch on the outside half and pulled it out of the park. Very cool, I'm definitely cheering for him.
  7. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 02:40 PM) Yeah, come to soxtalk.com....and meet REAL friends... Hey, some of us actually have good friends from this site, as disturbing as that is. I honestly started college at the worst possible time. My freshman year was in August of 05 and I really only cared about one thing at the time( take a guess), so I was pretty anti social for a while.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) Portillos Agreed. I haven't had a Vienna Beef hotdog in so long, unbelievable. The lot was insane though.
  9. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 08:13 PM) No way Murton or Cedeno gets through waivers. No freakin' way. (That doesn't mean that I wouldn't want it to happen though) Neither guy has to get through waivers, just to the Sox. Still wont happen but it's a major difference.
  10. The only thing worse than driving on the Dan Ryan is driving in a Portillos parking lot. Yeesh.
  11. So SIU recruit Anthony Booker jumped to #29 in the rivals 150. He's the highest 4 star. Him to go along with Mr. Dillard so far who came in at 139 and it's a solid class already even with Roundtree decommiting. Hopefully we can still either get Torres back or land Crittle or Kuric(doubt it here).
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 10:14 AM) Take a bite out of crime. Ha, great idea.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 07:51 AM) You'll be completely fine. Agreed.
  14. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Man, NU was a b**** when I filled that out. Do they still make you write like 3 essays? They were pretty lame when I did them, one of them was something like "What mask do you where in your life and why?" Good luck man, those first two are pretty tough. I got rejected at NU and probably wouldn't get into Illinois anymore. I didn't apply to a school if they were going to make me write an essay.
  15. Moving into my new place on the 15th, though I've been in Carbondale all summer. Can't wait.
  16. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) I'd be rather amused if they let him go just because you would throw a fit. I think most of us would throw a fit.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) 235 wins over 21 seasons with a career ERA over 4 and a mediocre ERA+ of 108? I have to disagree. Has he been a great 3ish starter his entire career? Hell yeah. Hall of Fame worthy? Not in my book. And Moyer has even less of a case. In fact, I do not believe a pitcher with an ERA north of 4 has even been inducted. Correct. Only 7 pitchers have been inducted with an era higher than 3 and a half, and zero with an era over 4. Wells was a good pitcher but Hall of Famer he is not.
  18. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) It cracks me up the Rowand love fest on this board. I mean, I liked him and all... but not at the cost he's going to get this offseason. Lies.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) PTI is the greatest with Wilbon and Kornheiser. And Wilbon just DESTROYED Skip Bayless on air. I love it. It seems like they're literally together like 5 times a year, one of them is seemingly always on vacation or gone for some reason. You're right though, this is the one good thing ESPN still has going.
