  1. BJ Upton is quite insane.
  2. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) I'd be rather amused if they let him go just because you would throw a fit. I think most of us would throw a fit.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) 235 wins over 21 seasons with a career ERA over 4 and a mediocre ERA+ of 108? I have to disagree. Has he been a great 3ish starter his entire career? Hell yeah. Hall of Fame worthy? Not in my book. And Moyer has even less of a case. In fact, I do not believe a pitcher with an ERA north of 4 has even been inducted. Correct. Only 7 pitchers have been inducted with an era higher than 3 and a half, and zero with an era over 4. Wells was a good pitcher but Hall of Famer he is not.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) It cracks me up the Rowand love fest on this board. I mean, I liked him and all... but not at the cost he's going to get this offseason. Lies.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) PTI is the greatest with Wilbon and Kornheiser. And Wilbon just DESTROYED Skip Bayless on air. I love it. It seems like they're literally together like 5 times a year, one of them is seemingly always on vacation or gone for some reason. You're right though, this is the one good thing ESPN still has going.
  6. People have been waiting for Mark to break down or the league to catch up to him for years now. Mark's going to have a bad year every now and then but I highly doubt he's just going to completely break down and become a bad pitcher, ever. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think he has a shot in hell at getting to 300 wins(or getting in the HOF for that matter) but he'll be good until he retires.
  7. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) It was in one of the biggest parks in the league though. I believe they've brought the fences in a little bit, but it's still huge. Ya, that really didn't come into effect though. If anything it hurt him a bit cause he got blooped to death.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) still worse than Vazquez Ya, I think I lost that battle. Couldn't be happier to be wrong.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) Srsly? You should probably be suspended for that thing. I know you actually don't like the guy but still, that is one scary thing to look at.
  10. BMac's era is now better than Danks'. Brandon has really gotten his s*** together, starting to pitch the way that a lot of us thought he would.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) De Los Santos pitched tonight in relief...nice line. Kannapolis Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA De Los Santos 3.0 1 0 0 1 5 0 2.40 He good.
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:05 PM) Well anyone have any guesses on what Baltimore would want? They just wont trade him.
  13. Aaron Rowand hates some of you guys.
  14. I still can't believe he got up from that.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) I doubt there's any team in the big leagues which uses "Work quickly on the mound" as a mantra as much as the Sox. And strangely...it keeps working. Buehrle is a good role model.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) They also have him working much quicker, which really keeps the batters off balance. He had Maggs especially look as bad as anyone ever does. I think that's another sign of improved confidence. But I definitely agree with you.
  17. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) You mean Gavin Floyd, right? Gavin should be so lucky. I only see about 430 out of him.
  18. He shall win 500.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) Row is the Dick Vitale of the college football. I do what I can.
  20. Pat White and Steve Slaton are the coolest.
  21. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) How were Hawk and Stone together? DJ was still there today. Stone starts Tuesday.
  22. QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) Classy of you to post this. Floyd showed a big glimpse of his talent this afternoon, let's hope he continues to progress as you stated. Pitched inside, used his change a bit more often and showed the poise to pitch over some bad calls/defense. I think all of those things show just how much more confident he was today. He needs to string several good starts together in a row now, but he was terrific today. Like I said in the game thread, hopefully this will be the confident boost needed to go along with the talent that he does have.
