  1. 2 and a half hours til game time. Looks like there could be 18 thousand in attendance tonight.
  2. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) Indiana and Uconn are tied at 39 at the half. Indiana was up 14 early but pissed that away. That was an interesting first half. Indiana is the better team but UCONN is at home, UCONN also needs this win. Should be a good 2nd half.
  3. Watching ESPN, one of the "experts" said that the Saints have been the most consistant team in the NFC, someone want to explain that to me?
  4. We have easily our biggest game of the year tonight. We're in Omaha to face Creighton and the Jays are expecting a record crowd for this game, it's going to be crazy. We need this game big time. If we win this one, the worst off we can be is a game behind UNI with them coming to Carbondale on Tuesday. If we lose this game we're two games back in conference with at least two teams ahead of us in the standings. I guarantee this will be a different SIU team than whatever the hell that was on Wednesday. These guys will be ready to go and I believe we are the better team. We need this game big time and we've never lost in the Qwest Center, I expect us to win a nail biter here. Should be a fun one. On a side note, after this game we'll only have 3 conference road games left.
  5. This whole "drunk" thing is just a clever way for Heads to up his post count.
  6. Heads seems to have consumed alcohol. Bad idea.
  7. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Not exactly surprising, they play little to no defense, have no interior game, and play in a fairly deep conference. It could easily be 3 losses in a row for them, they got UCLA on Saturday. I'm not a Zona fan at all, they're very overrated. Now, they can score with anyone in the country, but their starting center plays like a 2 guard and most importantly they are awful defensively. They're going to lose a lot of games in the pac 10 as it is a very deep conference.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) Im just messing with you, its not for everyone. It would probably be much funnier if you got to watch season 1 and 2 so you had some background on the characters This is probably true.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) I have no idea how you didnt find last weeks episode funny. I thought it was ok. It was the first time I've seen it and I just wasn't overly impressed. I do have a different sense of humor though.

If Rocky does it then it's safe.

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) andy: have you seen my phone? jim: maybe it's in the ceiling andy: maybe YOU'RE in the ceiling jim: ok i was in tears See, that sounds funny. Where was that stuff when you made me watch it last week?
  13. In the Valley is crazy/insane category: UNI defeats Mo State in Springfield, Drake beats Indiana State and Wichita State loses to Illinois State. Anyone watching the simeon/oakhill game? Their pa just said "you can put it on the board...yes"
  14. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) FW - definitely. Shaq - a bit lazy eyed. Stuart Scott? Lazy eye for Stu as he got hit in the eye with a football once.
  15. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 08:05 PM) If Iowa and Indiana are the best 2 defenses, I guess Wisconsin isnt in the picture. http://bigtenwonk.blogspot.com/ Some interesting Big 10 stats there. Im sure that there was no disrespect ment by the posts, but its hard to really believe that Wisconsin does not have 1 of the top 2 D's in the Big 10. No disrespect to Wiscy at all, I like them as a team a lot and they are a very good defensive team. My personal opinion based on watching both teams is that IU is a better defensive team, though you can certainly make an argument for Wiscy.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 07:01 PM) I like BMac, but he's going to be inconsistent as a starter. If his change and curve aren't working, he's going to get destroyed. And those pitches will be much more consistant as a starting pitcher, in a role he's familiar with. Texas or not, Brandon is going to be a very good starting pitcher, starting this season. Just watch.
  17. OSU is the more talented team, there is no doubt about that but IU also defends better and is probably the best defensive team in the conference. I'm pretty sure that Greasy's point was that IU has done just as much as OSU so far this season, yet OSU has the Oden hype train. I do think that OSU is better but this IU team is very good and very dangerous, when you defend like they do, you can compete with anyone.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) Would somebody please add some substance to back up their claims that they can't prove? "All scouts would agree." Prove it. "Cut his walks down to be the best pitcher in the game." Prove it. Walking guys is part of his game. Carpenter has been phenomenal since coming over to the NL, and he should've won the Cy Young instead of Webb. Not that Webb doesn't deserve the mention because he has always had great stuff. He's like Halladay, a guy who eats up a ton of innings, doesn't walk anybody, and keeps the ball down. Oh and he does it pitching in the AL East too. Look at Smoltz's numbers. I've already shown Oswalt's, and Clemens' lack of innings is due to contract negoitations. If he's still pitching in the NL, he's one of the best. Watching them pitch, I think it's pretty well known here that I don't use just stats to back up my claims. There is not a pitcher in the NL I'd rather have than Carlos Zambrano.
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) Maybe Southern just isn't that good. Oh, this is a very good team. For whatever reason, we've played down to some competition on the road. We've also played as many road games as anyone in the nation. This was also our 4th game of the week. Our 15 rpi would tell you that we've played and beat good teams. For whatever reason, we seem to come out flat in road games against lesser competition.
  20. If Zambrano does indeed hit free agency, I hope kenny just throws globs of money at him. He's a psycho but he's one the best pitchers in baseball. The only pitcher in baseball right now that I'd for sure take over him is Johan. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) I'll take Zambrano as would any other scout in baseball. Of that list you made...Johan is the only starter I'd take over Zambrano. Clemens is pretty ridiculous but he doesn't give the innings that Carlos does. Pedro isn't healthy anymore and the rest of those guys aren't even close to being as good as Carlos, imo. Stop thinking like me.
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) Lowery is recruiting good talent for us, but when can I look at him and start to think his coaching is lackluster. We are worthless against a zone. Evansville? Just when Virginia Tech was helping us out and making us look good, we lay an egg to the Aces? Rex Hudler will be estatic. The team has come out flat in every road game that we should win. Some of that definitely has to go on CLo. On the other hand, the players flat out sucked yesterday. Every single player was pitiful on both sides of the ball, minus Tatum. I've never seen the team so damn lazy on defense. TY was late closing out on his man the majority of the game and that never ever ever ever happens. Mullins was getting beat on D as well, again, something that never happens. We could not contain Webster at all, every single one of our big men was in trouble, Shaw, Boyle and Foster all fouled out while Randal was actually the one in the most foul trouble through out the game and he finished with 4 fouls. So combined, our 4 big men had 19 fouls. This was just an absolutely pitiful loss. I'm still pissed off about this and I'm not going to get over this one, this loss one way or another will come back to haunt us.
  22. We just got our asses handed to us by Evansville. This is the worst f***in defensive effort this team has ever had. This loss is completely unf***inacceptable. Piss poor f***in performance, f*** f*** f*** f*** f*** f*** f***. I'm going to go f***in run into a wall the rest of the night. f***
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) If it were to happen, I would like SIU's chances against Indiana on a neutral court. Justin, that sig is old!!! Two more damn days. A SIU-IU rematch would be fun as both teams have improved a great deal since that game and now we have another weapon that we didn't have back then. Anywho, back to things actually happening now, Evansville tonight, must revenge that horrible loss from last season.
  24. Yup. We have absolutely no chance.
