QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) As a wise man once said....."gleefully chanting 'overrated' after defeating an opponent is like bragging after banging the ugliest girl at the party". I despise the overrated chant. Takes away from what your own team did. Not to mention Florida isn't overrated, but whatever.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Apparently Florida's team has been riddled with the flu pretty bad. Well Brewer does have Mono. And Noah got sick as well. So ya, they're definitely not 100 percent at the moment. Still a nice win for FSU as they've been getting rocked through this rough stretch of their's.

Gators look like they're going down. Down 2, FSU to the line with 4 seconds left. Thorton makes both and FSU is going to win. And here comes the overrated chant.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Ya LSU is 4th in the rankings but they lost 2 games. Louisville only lost 1 game, same with Wisconsin. Boise State never lost? No matter where you cut it off there is going to be controversy. I agree but it's still better to be discussing a 4th team who gets into a playoff than just a 2nd team who gets put into the championship. At least there you have someone winning 2 games on the field.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) So whose 4th this year? Probably LSU. But it's better to discuss who is a 4th team than having to discuss who the 2nd team is. At least if you have a 4 team playoff, someone is earning it on the field.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) Because USC and Michigan were so close point wise when USC beat Notre Dame. I have ALWAYS believed that who you lose to should matter just as much as to who you beat. Michigan started so low in the rankings this year, that I understand why USC was still around even with the loss to Oregon State. I don't like the fact that in two weeks, Florida gained so much ground on a team that didn't get to play. It's just how I feel. Buckeyes win big. Nice quote in your sig, lol. I like how the two Brian's are ganging up on me in this thread.

QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) I'm picking against every team thats favored. Hell, I gotta be right at least once Don't mind Krush, he's just mad at me cause I won his March Madness pool this year.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) You always try to call every upset ever. Won't happen this time. This is going to happen. And what upsets are you talking about? I do go with a lot of upsets in my bracket every year during March Madness, but everything I call at least is usually semi close, guess everyone hates me now cause I'm making an unpopular pick.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) I would of accepted USC over Michigan even with the loss to Oregon State, but won't accept Florida. Why? Florida has the number 1 strength of schedule in college football and won the best conference in football while only losing one game. I have no clue why you oppose Florida so much more than you would USC.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) I'm gonna start calling you out. YOu keep getting these out on a limb gut feelings, they never happen, and nobody mentions them. I got my eye on you, sir. LOL, like what? Cause I said once in the college basketball thread that I thought Depaul was going to beat Kentucky? Ohio State turned me off a lot during their game against Michigan. Florida will win that game, just watch.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) OSU will kill Florida and than the BCS and the voters will realize that they did not get the 2 best teams in the title game. I would of accepted USC getting the shot over Michigan, but not Florida. Florida is going to win that game.

Sox should trade 2 SP's
You're trying to set this team up for the future yet you're trading Brandon and Jon? The two starters who are under contract for the longest. I'm confused. EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't read it all the way through. Still, trading Brandon to make us better for the future, doesn't. And as already been mentioned, supposedly the Angels turned down the Freddy/Crede for Santana/Figgins.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Just want to throw this out there: I'd only be in favor of a 4 team playoff if a playoff ever arises in the future. Any more and college football will lose all its excitement. So here's your matchups for the 4 team playoff: Michigan vs Florida OSU vs ?????????????? I realize trying to decide the #4 team isn't as quite as important as deciding the #2 team, but my point is that every year you'd more than likely have some problems/debates. Whether the system is perfect or not (well it's not perfect), one thing is for sure: from week to week, college football is exciting as all hell. You never know what's going to happen, and losses are huge. I mean, if there was an 8 or 16 team playoff, that UCLA win would have meant relatively nothing. USC's in the playoffs anyway. How cool was it to watch that upset today? I don't know what the solution is, but at least the sport is compelling. It's exciting and no one is going to argue that but I want to see an actual champion, some team earn it on the field. If we see OSU-Mich and Mich wins we might be looking at a split national championship again and that's just ridiculous.
