Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) Minny doesn't necessarily want to dump KG, they'd prefer to keep him, and won't be dealing him unless he requests a trade. That's been made very clear. And KG would love to play with Garnett, he indicated so immediately last night when he was asked. -

Wow IU. -
QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) Jared Weaver had a Cards jacket and hat on to root for his brother....haven't heard a peep from the angels about it. Jared Weaver also hasn't said numerous times that he's wanted to play for the Cards. I love Mark, but he needs to be more careful about this junk, I'm tired of hearing about him and the Cardinals.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) ...and because that half-inning was one of the more exciting things I've ever seen. I don't think I took a breath through that whole half- inning. -

Contreras for me. -
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) The only rumor I heard that involved only prospects was a Texas rumor. All the rest involved at least one major league player who provided us an upgrade. And at least the Texas rumor involved at least one genuinely major league ready prospect. Whatever, I'm not going to turn this into another argument that is already going on in the actual trade thread.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 11:14 AM) It is because everyone assumed that when trading this SP we would be getting back at least one player who would upgrade one of the areas of need for the 2007 major league team. Unfortunately, we didn't. Eh, a lot of the rumors being thrown around were about bringing young pitching in.

IU-UK about to get underway, cmon Hoosiers! -
It's amazing how much everyone is overreacting when everyone knew that a starting pitcher was going to be traded this offseason.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 03:36 AM) Does the house come with comcast? No . But I will definitely be buying the extra innings package.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 03:20 AM) Justin? Is that you Justin? I'm right here, sir. Jeez, I guess I'm just going to have to win the bowl pool as well, so I can sweep your pools this year(hell, include fantasy football) before you start respecting my picks. -
QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) congrats how many people you got? houses around here are usually in awful shape and i kinda like the apartment thing, dunno how carbondale is though. 4 of us. These houses are brand new and absolutely awesome. I'm pumped.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) Marquette vs. Wisconsin tomorrow. You guys with no allegiance to either team better be cheering for the Eagles... (I'm looking specifically at the guys I shared a hotel room on a certain Cincy trip) Eh, why not. Good luck tomorrow. We got our hands full tomorrow as well as we're playing a very, very good Western Kentucky team in Bowling Green. EDIT: I'm also going to be a big fan of team Greasy tomorrow as I want IU to have the best record possible going into next Sunday. -
Thanks and good luck Freddy!

QUOTE(WkdJstr13 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) 1.5 for 07 1.95 for 08 2.65 for 09 3.75 for 10 team option This is an absolute steal. Great job KW. Welcome aboard

I just put a down payment on my house for next year. w00t

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) The guy is a big game pitcher and a horse. Is he even 26 yet? If Petitte can get $16M for one year, Zambrano will get well over $20M. He could rival A-Rod with the goofiness of his contract. Say what you want but he could be the best pitcher in baseball bar none by the end of this season. That belongs to Santana and will for a while.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Score said the deal is for six million (total, not per year). I like it, especially since he was arbitration eligible anyway. Way below market value. Great signing.
-
QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) Where there is no way that I can't deny that he is an absolute horse, and ace of most any staff.... I wouldnt want him anywhere close to the Southside. Much along the same lines as Freddy, he puts his stats and himself well before any team achievement. If a CF misplays a ball, I don't want 3 walks and 5 unearned runs to follow just because of lost concentration and frustration over teammates. He's a psycho and a douche bag, but I don't care. The guy is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball and is still young. Like I said, I'd throw billions at him.
-
Works for me. It'll definitely be interesting to see the numbers on this one.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) If we are to believe anything that is said by the men running the White Sox organization then yes it looks like Floyd will be on the 25 next year, he's not a lock but I'd give him better than even odds that he makes the big club out of spring training. Barring more moves to the pitching staff, Floyd will be in the bullpen to open the season, I'm almost certain.
-
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) Do you realize that neither Gio nor Floyd have NEVER performed well at a level higher than AA? So what you're saying is that they have both performed well in leagues over AA?
-
That definitely scared the f*** out of me this morning when I saw it in PHT.
-
QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 07:53 AM) tell me this, why in the world are the SOX considering moving Jon Garland? Because the guy probably has the most trade value out of any of starters and he's an average pitcher.
