Selig pondering postseason changes
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) More teams? Bah... Baseball seems to be the only sport where, if you made the playoffs, you really earned it. Football comes in second, but you can usually pick out one team per year that really isn't that good, and is just a product of playing poor teams or having teams in its division suck real hard. BTW -- before anyone brings it up, the NL of 2006 (sans the Mets) is an exception, not the rule. I completely agree. I actually love the playoff system as it is, no need to add more teams. A 162 game season with more than 4 teams getting in the playoffs would get a bit ridiculous imo. I would honestly be real pissed off if more spots were added to the playoffs.

Well if anything we'll probably get a good "dugout" from this.

Selig pondering postseason changes
I wouldn't really mind a best of 7 in the ds's, I don't mind the best of 5 either, I could be on board with either of those. Giving the Wild Card less home games is just real dumb imo though.

Can't this be like an aim convo or something.

Frank's Team vs. Maggs' Team
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Huh? Frank has choked in every postseason series of his life except the Minny series with Oakland. That's simply proven fact. Well that's wrong. I'll let you look up your own stats though.

QUOTE(beautox @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) legends of the hidden temple, that show was amazing. You know, I have not met one person who didn't love that show. It really is a classic. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 09:11 AM) Your story reminds me of a time when I went in one of those Haunted House Rides at a Theme Park in Malaysia on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur a few years back. But basically, this was the crappiest ride I have ever been on in my life, there was basically nothing inside there. I remember when I came out of there, I couldn't stop myself laughing very loudly at how terribly stupid that was, and the people there were looking at me like I was crazy or something. This one wasn't that bad besides a few ridiculous parts, it was kind of entertaining at least. I like to try and talk to the people who try to scare you though and see if I can get them to break "character," I got a few to.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) Don't you find it interesting that just about everyone in baseball, even the Yankees where money isn't an issue, find McCarthy a lot more attractive than any of the other members of the greatest rotation ever assembled. Maybe just maybe Ozzie is wrong, and BMac is a good starting pitcher. I've been saying this forever but he's a special pitcher imo and he'll get a chance to prove that this season.

So I went to like this haunted village thingy last night(ya, I'm a loser) and walking through, they put you through this trailor and a bunch of the scream characters are just sitting there. So anyways, cause that part was kind of ridiculous I go to one of the guys in the scream masks "hey, you're those scream guys, you kill people right?" The guy goes "HELL YA," that was probably the best part of the whole night.

Any realistic way to upgrade the starting pitching?
I'm really not a fan of Moose. The guy is pushing 40 and has only had one good year in the last three. I got a feeling if we signed him, it'd backfire completely. I'd rather stick with what we have than sign Mike, jmo.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
If it takes Brandon then forget about it. BTW, it's obviously real early so I can definitely see why NY would try to get Brandon included right now. That doesn't automatically mean a month or two from now that they won't rethink the stance on taking the other 3 pitchers.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Hey, what about *cough* Evansville *cough*? Honestly Rex, I think they'll be pretty solid. If I were to guess, I'd say 6th or 7th in the valley, while not great is an improvement, they've brought back a lot of talent from last season, the problem is the valley's top teams are extremely good once again.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) The Valley is looking pretty good this year with Wichita State, Creighton, Northern Iowa, and SIU. Looking like we will see 4-5 teams in the tourney again. Its going to be a tough year for SIU to win the conference but I think we can do it again! Go Dawgs! Missouri State should be better than UNI this year and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they finish higher than the Shocks either. Now if Hinson can actually get the Bears to the NCAA's this year, who knows but that team should be pretty darn good. If I had to guess right now though, I'd say: Creighton, SIU, Missouri State and Wichita State all get into the tournament this year.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 07:55 AM) While that may or may not be true, it seems to be a bit of an overreaction to me. It's a huge overreaction. Like you said there are ways to survive without unbelievable, ridiculous talent. I'll guarantee you one thing, and that's that Bruce will get the most out of the talent he has.
