  1. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 02:51 AM) Pods, honestly to me, seems WAY too complacent while playing defense. And he always seems to take his ABs with him to the field mentally, which here lately the way he is hitting, is not good. The one thing about Pods that has really come to annoy me is his lack of hustle at the plate and in the field. That's another reason I think if Pods doesn't get his head out of his ass that you're just going to keep seeing Ozuna threads pop up because not only is he hitting the crap out of the ball but you know he's going to leave everything on the field.
  2. Matt Cain is pitching well, hint hint. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) Matt Cain is pitching well, hint hint. LOL, nevermind. Karl Ravech just said on the preview for bbtn that Cain was pitching a no no and then literally 5 seconds later Figgins breaks it up.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) We have like a 6 game lead in the Wild Card. I know everybody thinks we're "above" that since we won it all last year, but if we take care of buisness that playoff spot is a lock, regardless of what the Tigers do. 5.5 and the thing is it's too early to worry about the wild card. Right now we're a whole two games behind the Tigers and our goal is to win the division. That being said if it comes down to us making the playoffs by winning the wild card, I don't think anyone is going to complain.
  4. QUOTE(SABR Sox @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Thats exaclty why I love Sabermetrics. That's not a valid argument. I don't watch players and evaluate them solely from what I see. Whether its hitting, fielding or pitching I always turn to stats. No offense but this is one of the reasons some people can't stand sabermetrics. If you're basing players soley on stats, you're missing a lot of the story.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) Congratulations, QP. ^^^ Definitely some people having awesome sports years here. I'm looking at you palehose.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) f***ing Tigers will not lose. Well, they're doing what they're supposed to do. They can't beat a good team to save their lives but they've won every single game that they're supposed to win. We're just going to have to take care of our business and take care of them when we play 'em. On a side note, our wild card lead keeps extending.
  7. Edmonton cuts the lead in half. I've never been a big hockey fan but I've really enjoyed watching these last two games.
  8. Prince homers, 1-0 Brewers in the bottom of the 7th.
  9. QUOTE(SABR Sox @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Lol, his Fielding Runs Above Average last season was +11 in LF. He's perfect for out there. His goodness ratio out there last year was -1000.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) We still have 3 more games against them. The last thing we want is for them to go into that series having hope. What, they're all the sudden going to have hope by winning a series? This team just blows, as long as we show up we should win 2 of 3.
  11. QUOTE(SABR Sox @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Yea, this season he's been struggling on the defensive end, but I wouldn't panic. LF is an easy position to play and he was TERRIFIC there last season. No, no he wasn't.
  12. It's so easy to predict what a Kenny Williams team will look like in a few years since he's not an aggressive gm.
  13. It was just a fantastic weekend. Sox fans were loud as hell and that park was a lot of fun to be at. Cinci fans were very bitter most of the weekend as they kept trying to call us bandwagon fans on the way out of the park. Awesome series.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) The only real difference I see between the two players, is that I would like to see my speedster hit lefthanded. Usually I'd be with you on this but Pablo gets out of the box so quickly and he hustles so much damn more then Pods down the line that I don't think that makes a difference when talking about these two.
  15. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 08:12 AM) Honestly, and I'm sure lots will disagree with me, but its getting to the point where Pods vs. Ozuna is a wash defensively to me. No, you're correct.

    Happy B-day SnB!!

    QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) Have a Finna Happy B-day.....
  17. I'm getting tired of watching Pods play left. The route he took to the Kearns blooper on saturday was one of the worst things you'll ever see, he should have been under that ball with ease.

    Happy B-day SnB!!

    Happy bday steve, enjoy actually getting some real sleep.
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 12:10 AM) I dont ever think I have had more fun at a 3 game series.... Ya, that rocked.
  20. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) It probably wouldn't cause the best team in the East is currently at home watching the playoffs.. So true, damn Bulls.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) I'm with you, I know some of you will laugh at this trade but that's because you're all dumbass meatheads. Think about it, remember the days when Contreras was on the Yankees? He sucked, I mean he was real bad, that Contreras will soon be back no matter what he's doing now. Why not move him now and get something for him before he reverts back to his sucky ways? Steve Kline is a stud, plain and simple, this one time when he was on the Cardinals I saw him strike out 2 batters in 1 innning, how pitchers have you seen do that? With Steve Kline comming out of the pen with his fire and crazy awesome heat (98 MPH fastball) the Sox would be totally unstoppable. Uribe blows ass, plain and simple. I havn't seen him get a single hit all year and the guy strikes out more than Adam Dunn but you never hear about it because the Chicago Media is always putting a positive spin on the Sox and ignoring the fact that Uribe is probably the worst SS in baseball right now. Also, have you seen this guy play defense? He's crazy out there, way too erratic for my taste. Omar Vizquel is easily the best defensive SS in baseball and has a ridiculously high OBP something this team needs desperately. Vizquel's sick combination of contact hitting, power, speed and OBP would put this team over the top while soidifying the defense. A lot of you unintelligent people will probably think this is a bad idea because of your ridiculously pathetic and misguided love for that 60 year old Cuban guy and Juan "teh suck" Uribe but take it from someone who is much much smarter than you are, this trade would gaurantee a return to the World Series and I think we all know there ain't a damn team in the NL who can hang with us. Post of the year. You nailed it.
  22. Couldn't agree more with Dan.
  23. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) That MUCH?!? Boy this is NOT working! I mean I know we have the 2ns best record in the AL and we are hitting higher and scoring more runs than last year, but obviously this is the problem. So that BOMB to center was hit with a cane, eh? With how far that thing was hit, it must have been hit with an aluminum bat.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) The Sox are 7-9 in games that Pablo starts. The Sox are 3-2 in games in which Pablo has a SB. The Sox are 0-4 in games in which Pablo has a BB. So I guess that's not true, he still rocks though.
