QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) I ABSOLUTELY think that the WBC had an effect on Freddy... ESPECIALLY Freddy, because he pitched into almost November. His velocity was there in WBC, and was there in April, and now it's not. He's tired. And rightfully so. I don't know of this velocity in april you speak of.

he is definately underrated around these parts.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Congrats to Landis for being a cheater -
Verlander to miss start with tired arm Justin Verlander will miss his start on Sunday because of fatigue in his right arm. It is getting to be that time of year. Verlander, the league's first 14-game winner, has already thrown five more innings (135 1/3) than he did in 2005. He belives the current problem is nothing he can't pitch through. Still, the Tigers will skip him one turn, something they could do a couple of more times before the regular season is over. Wilfredo Ledezma will start in his place on Sunday. Aug. 4 - 6:58 pm et It starts

QUOTE(WCSox @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) And speaking of the Cubs and Bears, they're (unfortunately) beginning to look a lot like the same organization. explain? Im confused. I see no similarities.

Chris Widger-C-Orioles Aug. 4 - 1:32 pm et Orioles signed catcher Chris Widger for the rest of the season. Widger, who was hitting .184/.264/.263 in 76 at-bats before being cut by the White Sox last month, replaces Javy Lopez on the roster and will take over as Ramon Hernandez's backup.

QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) I think it's at least in part personal choice. He's spoken to the media about the decision, and in clutch situations I've seen him in the low to mid 90's. If in the case he was telling the truth. Why? Has he looked at his 2005/2006 splits? Is he saving himself for a strong last couple months? I would be the happiest guy on the board if he turned it back on in our race with the yankees, redsox, twins and hopefully tigers.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 11:23 AM) racist. would not surprise me in the least if selig does not want the brewers represented by a chorizo

Though I admit I have not been paying attention the last few Freddy starts on his mph, but last time I checked he was hitting mid to high 80's more often than not. He has been pitching like this since the ring ceromony game I belive and possibly spring training ( not sure what he clocked at during st) What is everyones theories on how he lost it? Work load catching up? Bad routine? Off field related? Hidden injury? Combination of theories?

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) That's a horrible paper all-around. The Sun-Times and Herald are much better. I honestly believe all our papers are horrible reads.

wow. Great moves by the Mets.

The Cubs have reached a tentative deal to send Greg Maddux to the Dodgers. The deal requires the commissioner's approval because it involves a cash transaction of more than $1 million going from the Cubs to the Dodgers. No word yet on the return. This will push either Chad Billingsley or Aaron Sele, probably Billingsley, out of the rotation. Jul. 31 - 4:07 pm et Source: FOXSports.com

QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) gosh darn moving BA to left, Jones is vastly overrated in CF.\ hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahashahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

this is a HUGE trade for the yanks. I guess abreau and his .427 obp is overrated. if they put him in the 2 hole, that is going to be a HUGE boost for them. damn this sucks QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) No, they really weren't. Wasn't even that close to be honest. There are still many teams in the majors better than the yankees, they still won't make the playoffs. Book it. I see them taking the east.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) Ugh, reading comprehension. "other teams" = "we" no one is talking to you.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Maybe this will force Bowden to drop his asking price a little, as other teams may tell him unless that's the case, we'll go out and acquire Carlos Lee instead. perhaps you want to go back to square one. Let's bring the 2003-04 style of play back. That will work.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Wow, it's great that you're not completely making spiff up, I've had the Score on the whole day and have heard no such thing. You know your little bi polar posting style has been incredibly annoying but now you're just suppying false information. want to play hang man? Ba_ H_m Pleas_!
