QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 07:57 AM) Because it's going to be impractical to do so until health insurance costs go down. We can either have universal healthcare with substandard medical care and a lack of pharmaceutical innovation (like Canada and Europe) or the current system. Neither is perfect, but I'll take current system. I'd rather have the option of purchasing quality health care insurance on my own than to not have it available at all. FWIW, I know that some companies are including "domestic partner" healthcare insurance already. Whatever one thinks of gay marriage, I think that offering healthcare benefits to live-in partners is definitely a positive thing. Yah, my company's cool like that. Offers domestic partner insurance-- gay or straight.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) They are all legal, depending on what you are downloading. If you are exchanging family videos, like I'm doing they are legal. If you are trying to find Steve Dahl's Disco Demolition DVD on one of those services, it isn't. Which reminds me, anyone seen the Disco Demolition DVD? I only use them to download music. I guess I'm a criminal then?
-
I highly doubt it. Especially when you throw in things like the Inquisition.
-
I use Limewire and IMesh. Are those legal? I can't keep track anymore.

Carl, Carl, Carl. Give us .290--25--80, and we'll forget about the dinosaur thing, OK?

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Comment sent How can you possibly say Mark Buehrle is a middle of the rotation starter? This guy has averaged over 16 wins a season since becoming a starter. He also lead the league in IP. But nah, let's ignore that. Career ERA+ of 125, but I guess that's just everyday run of the mill 3rd starter. Maybe you should do a little more research before writing such assinine statements. The statement would be more effective if you spelled asinine correctly. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 04:27 AM) The main problem with this p.o.v. is that because "religion ultimately need to fall back on faith" and is "NOT testable", then it should not even be considered. This is a general theme throughout many of your posts. I think you're misinterpreting, YAS. What I believe Jim's saying is that there can be no true intertwining of religion and science, because the basis for one field is inherently irrelevant in the other.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) I think anyone reading the thread knew exactly what Jugernaut meant and it was an obvious typographical error. Of course he wouldn't support bulimia. What's that phrase about a goose and a gander . . .? Actually, if you read his posts, he wouldn't support bullemia. You'd think someone who obviously considers himself to be the utmost authority on everything from Terri Schiavo to Hawaii Five-O would learn how to spell.

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) No friggin way... we were going to go to Anyway's but went to OCB instead.. damnit. Tell me when you're going there again and I'll meet you. I'll buy you a beer.. So it wasn't you then. Hmmm, there's a bizarro Steff somewhere in the Oakbrook Terrace area. I work nearby Anyways, so I go there for lunch every now and again. I'll probably be there someday next week. I'll let you know which day
-
Steffikins-- Not to hijack this thread, but were you eating lunch at Anyways Pub today? I saw someone in there today that looked like you from the pics I've seen

QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) i found a girl to go with...any ideas how to get her to say yes? like any tips to sweep her off her feet? I dont think you need to go that far. Just say you were wondering if she had plans for the prom, and if not would she like to go with you.

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Supposedly there are no more pending suits.. and they did not have LI at the time of the incident. They also did not own a home. The guy was offered $10 million to sign her over to her folks.. that's a lot of scratch... and, IMO, something someone who was only out for $$ would find very hard to resist. Maybe, just maybe, this is what she really wanted and he wants to be sure she gets her final wish.. OK, cool. Obviously the financial angle is one that had to be looked into. Thx for the info!

QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) If this was about a marriage ending, why would he fight for her right to die for seven years? He could have just walked away. Period. Would there be any pending financial claim that Michael would have to forfeit if he divorced her?

First person to find a post in ANY thread on ANY topic in which Juggernaut concedes one single point to someone else wins a prize.

My $.02: 1) If you don't go to the prom, it's not the end of the world. I went to my Sr. Prom, and it was boring and hardly memorable. And that's while going with the girl who I thought at the time I would marry(I was much more traditional back then). 2) If you do want to go, I can GUARANTEE there's a girl out there who's just as depressed as you out of fear that no one will ask her to go. Hell, I bet there's more than one. Just pick out a girl that you think would be a fun prom partner, that doesn't have a boyfriend, and just f***ing ask her. Chances are, you'll have made her day, month, even year. Good luck, Casanova.

QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Vatican City is really small. I didn't even know there was a fiction bookstore in the Holy See. Oh yah, you can get papal keychains, pencils with pope hat-shaped erasers, and beach towels with the Sistine Chapel scene on them.

He has good control, and he knows how to change speeds effectively. Those traits almost always lend themselves to good pitchers, so I think Shingo will be fine.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) While I don't know to what extent if any this will negatively impact animals in this region it sure worries me. A wild animal refuge is supposed to be a location of shelter and safety, and I'd think it's logical to say drilling is a threat to that. Call me a whacko but I personally think it's selfish to try to cut oil prices at risk of wildlife and the environment. The lesson, as always -- Ann Coulter is an idiot.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) That and lack of a willing partner, eh? Oh, I have a willing partner, it's just that human male sperm and vinyl-plastic composites will not combine to bear offspring. Curse you, damned biology!!!

So sad. Arrogant, shortsighted, and reason #765B why I refuse to procreate.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7205300/ I don't believe the book contains a lick of anti-Catholic "prejudice," but if it does, well, payback's a b**** ain't it?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) IIRC, I reported it as a gift, along with a notorized statement. Spring, a great time to look at houses, I wonder why :rolly Tex is correct. You need a certified check I believe, and the notarized statement.

Traded to the Brewers in the offseason, former Chicago White Sox Carlos Lee left his younger brother back in the Chicago organization, where the kid toils as a minor-league catcher. Carlos Lee's younger brother is also named Carlos Lee.

I dont like the idea. As the Broncos have proved for years, if you have a good line, any running back can be a stud. Thomas Jones was fine last year, and he's signed for 3? more years at a very reasonable price. If the Bears are looking to trade for an A-List player, I'd rather it be a receiver or QB or TE.
