QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) Somebody spitting out hatred from a group of people because of a label is kind of small minded. Example Label: Texans I would like to respond to this, but I have no idea what this statement is supposed to be saying.

Read this, and it's obvious this law was passed out of pure hatred and/or ignorance. http://www.window.state.tx.us/forgottenchi...gress/summ.html If the Mexicans ever try and take back Texas, I say let them have it. Sorry Texsox.

There are, however, many historians that say that the prophecy foretold the end of the CHURCH, not the end of time. Giddyup.

QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) Wow Sox are last in OBP and by .20 points too. That shows how dangerous this team can really be when people starting getting on base and start hitting. We are 3rd in Homer's though, and 21st in runs scored. Shocking for a 9-4 team. Sound eerily similar to last year's team. Ozzieball..............no.

IMO, the main reason why the Cubs seem to have a grip on the city and the media coverage is simply because the Cubs are owned by, well a media conglomerate. WGN was the first nationwide television network, WGN Radio has always gotten huge ratings, and the Tribune is one of the countries biggest newspapers. Obviously, these mediums will focus more on the Cubs than the Sox, and having a lovable cartoonish mascot(Caray) at a time when the nation was just starting to get cable television helped a bit. That idiotic Sportsvision deal did NOT help matters, the Sox should have stayed on free t.v.

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) section 159 in left field has a chant when idiots throw visitors home runs back... "eight miles north!!!!" Where the hell was it yesterday then? I was in section 159. Row 1, seat 14.
-
So, I was at the game last night-- 1st row in left field-- and I was appalled at the idiotic behavior of the majority of the so-called fans in that section. 4 morons behind me heckled Shannon Stewart EVERY INNING with clever taunts like "Why don't the Twins get a f***ing real right fielder?"(Stewart plays left field) or, "Stewart sucks as bad as the Cubs." Then, of course, the endless stream of "Cubs Suck" chants. To all you drillrods who insist on obsessing over the Cubs-- DO NOT GO TO ANYMORE SOX GAMES. DO NOT EVEN WATCH THEM ON T.V. LIKE THE GUY WHO INSISTS ON GAY-BASHING AT EVERY TURN DUE TO HIS HATRED OF HIS OWN DEEP-ROOTED HOMOSEXUAL DESIRES, YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY SELF-LOATHING CUBS FANS, AND I'd APPRECIATE IF YOU'D STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM MY TEAM. Finally, the unacceptable practice of throwing the opposing team's home run balls back. Undoubtably started by one of the CUBS SUCK chanting cheeba monkeys, this is a WRIGLEY FIELD TRADITION, so if you really consider yourself a Sox fan, keep the ball if you're lucky to grab one. Or, give it to the nearest youngster-- you'll make his year. Or, take the ball and throw it at the nearest jagoff chanting "Cubs Suck" during the late innings of a tie ballgame between the SOX and OUR biggest rival over the last 3-4 years. f***heads. Thank You.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Anyone else worried about this? Samples sent to Mexico and Lebanon unaccounted for. No known vaccine. I guess it's scarier because it's the first news I heard on the radio this morning. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/a...us_050415132617 The only reason I'm not worried is because of the fragile nature of the virus. Unless someone very capable gets their hands on them(admittedly very possible), the virus would die way before it could infect anyone.

I went on a cruise last year to Cozumel. Cozumel is a fantastic place, but I've never been to Cancun so I can't compare. Cozumel seems less tourist-y than other places in Mexico from what I know about places like Cancun. Take a 10-minute ferry over to Playa del Carmen, it is beautiful there. We also went to the ruins at Tulum and Kohunlich, if you're into that sort of thing.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Call it an idiotic statement if you want. You know who I was supporting so it shouldn't surprise you. That is my opinion and that's not art to me. If you think pointing a gun at the president's head is art, then be my guest. I don't care whether anyone thinks it's art or not. You were not stating an opinion when you say--"I know it's certainly not art" and that is what I called an idiotic statement. Not your opinion.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) I assume that in order for her claim to have gotten this far, there must have been a medical exam to determine that sex had occured, right? Her husband said that 'something did happen' and that the full story hasn't been told. Here is my guess: Maybe wifie was into some extra marital situations with these 2 guys, had to cover it up somehow and cried rape. Forensics can often tell based on physical evidence whether sex was forced or not.
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) I also don't think it's either, but I know it's certainly not art. So if I had to pick one, I'd pick threat. Idiotic statment. You have no authority to deem what is or isn't art. You can have your own opinion, but that's not what you're saying in the above post.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Threatening the life of the President is a federal crime. I'm not sure that this "art" falls under the "threat" category, but they certainly do have the right to investigate it. Painting a picture of the President with a gun to his head is no more a threat on the President's life than a Mariano Rivera effigy doll hanging in Fenway Park is a threat to his.

I dont get art either, but how anyone calls something they don't get, "stupid" is, well, pretty stupid IMHO. I don't get nuclear physics either, but I sure ain't calling it stupid. What I'm much more concerned with is the fact that Secret Service was sent to "investigate" a f***ing college art fair. And the reference to the other kid who was "questioned" after making anti-war drawings. This is America, and you should have the right to draw anything you want without fear of government interference.

Er, slow down a bit people. Buerhle looked great, but A) Hasn't he had a pretty good track record against the Indians? B) It was the first game of the season. Pierzynski looked fine behind the plate, but anything but fine at the plate. He, Pods, and Iguichi looked terrible at the plate yesterday. There were very few flyouts by the Sox yesterday, hopefully that can continue. Don't forget, the Sox were one Jhonny Peralta error away from having runners in scoring position with less than 2 outs, and not scoring anybody(again). Having Rowand hit a bouncer to short with a man on third, and later having Crede ground into an inning-ending DP is not my idea of OzzieBall.

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) The decision on who becomes pope is chosen by the college of cardinals. This decision is made shortly after the Pope's death, within a matter of days. Obviously, the cardinals will assemble for conclave, the 4 most likely candidates will all be kidnapped and killed, it will be revealed that the PJPII's camerlengo actually poisoned the pope, and the oldest cardinal will be chosen to be the next pope.

A weak silver lining to this whole thing-- I'm sure this situation has caused many people to go out and make living wills. Very well could prevent this from happening to someone else.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) http://www.nbc5.com/family/4329760/detail....994&dppid=65192 21% of the people voting in the poll next to that article say it should be illegal to cohabitate if you're not married. 21% of the people voting in that poll are people I would like to run over in an Escalade.
