  1. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) tax is included. it says so on the ticket. a season ticket shows the price breakdown. i've had seats in sec 516. the first 10 rows are solid. now if you're closer to the foul pole, that's a different story. I may do that a few times this year. I've been so close to the action its very hard for me personally to go back up top unless its Cubs/Sox. This yes I think we will be able to sit wherever you want for many of those games however. I used to do that at Reds games, they were 10 bucks for the top 10 rows and we always moved all the way down.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) I'm talking about your avatar...the second I see those bouncing I forget you even typed anything... Oh yeah, that was by design.
  3. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) you ever get the "ground rules" card in a ticket package? there are plenty of people that take tailgate food in. Yes, never saw the water part. I dont park as I take public trans to the game so I eat in the game.
  4. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/ballpa...ontent=security ticket prices here: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/ticket....jsp?loc=pick14 and group discounts are listed here: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/ticketing/groups/gsg.jsp Never knew that about water in all my years of having season tickets. Those still arent 7 dollars. You have about 6 games that actually qualify for it and you still have to pay taxes on top of the tickets. And yes, for the most part those seats blow and thats not snobby thats actually liking being able to see all the action.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) The Heisman voters care so much about winning, I bet they felt like they had to vote someone on from LSU, the most dominant team in the league. They treat it more like an MVP award for team success than the actual "most outstanding player in collegiate football". In the past ten years, I think 8 of the winners have appeared in the BCS Champ. game. Since the Heisman started there have really only been 2 (one was an "end") defensive winners of the trophy. If anyone believes that Matheiu is one of the best players ever at his position, then go for it. Otherwise every other candidate is probably more deserving.
  6. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) looks like you're an upper deck snob. taking the train saves $25. upper deck tickets will be as low as $7 this year at the box office one water bottle at the park is $4.50. you can get a CASE for $3 at walgreen most of the time. simple solutions that WORK. 7 dollars at the box office? WTF. Taxes are more than 7 dollars on a ticket. You are also not allowed to bring in food and drinks. Are you sneaking this in?
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Seriously, how the hell am I supposed to read anything in your posts anymore? With glasses? I'm just saying, its hard to declare the WM a "win" when we didnt really do anything at this point. Maybe in the future we can declare a different week a win, but it wasnt this week.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) He could coach, his offense is just rather compelx and he couldn't coach it in the time-frame he has with collegiate athletes (e.g., limited practice time). Couldnt do it at ND, goes to Florida, they have one of the worst offensive seasons they've had in years. When exactly is his offense going to work on a collegiate level?
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) Is character supposed to be taken into consideration for the Heisman? Because if it's not, Honey Badger should be in New York IMO. To me, he and RG III were clearly the two best players in the country this year. To me "Honey Badger" isnt in the same universe as Charles Woodson, the defensive/multi-faceted player profile that is heisman worthy (though should have been stripped of it since he was ineligible in 1997 for taking payments). The guy has only 2 picks, doesnt contribute on offense, and is a good kick returner. He's a good player, a great special teams guy and plays on a dominant team. Thats not heisman worthy IMO. On the other hand you have a RB who scored the second most TD's to freaking Barry Sanders, and a QB who just blew out both Tebow's and Newton's numbers playing for Baylor.
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) I think that's a really short-sighted view. In order to maximize the return for those guys, we needed to let the market develop. Basically, you strike quick if there's more supply than demand, and you are patient if there's more demand than supply. In the case of SP this year, it is the latter. Wilson and Buerhle dropped, and now we have several big market teams fighting for Darvish. Whoever doesn't get him has to pony up for Gio or Danks. Its short sighted only because this thread about winning at the Winter Meetings. We didnt do much of anything other than alienate some of our fan base and declare rebuilding.
  11. We entered the Winter meetings largely needing to trade Danks, Floyd, Thornton and Quentin. We accomplished none of this.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) Nope, never met him, but if 90% of the people who have call him a bad guy, then something's gotta give, right? Yeah, everything I've heard is that he's a slimeball.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 11:46 PM) Looks like he did well at Toledo. 14-2 within the conference shows that he can produce results within an equal playing field. It's not a real 'sexy' hire but the hype isnt there this year for the next MAC coach who is destined to be great. But he has midwest ties so that will help recruiting wise. Who else is out there really? He has a good pedigree coaching under Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel. He could do well as long as they give him a good OC/DC.
  14. More importantly, what does Khloe Kardashian think about this deal?
  15. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Damn, 2 people confirmed dead including a police officer and the gunman is still on the loose Apparently the second person was the gunman.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) If they can get Dwight, its a great move. Otherwise I don't know how much better this truly makes the Lakers. Clearly they needed an upgrade at point but Gasol (outside of his soft playoff performance) is a damn good big. Wow, this is a huge leap of faith. They better get Dwight or they will be stuck with two backcourt players who play best with the ball in their hands.
  17. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Ha my bad but you know what I mean. Point remains. It still looks good on paper even though it's a tease. Take Quentin out of there and move AJ/Flowers in a bit lower.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:15 PM) Charlie Weis to Kansas. At least they have the extra wide doorways and fat chairs already installed.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Hey now, let's not knock video guys...hah Sorry, its an ongoing joke with OSU fans. The guy literally knew nothing about QB play and all of a sudden he has the #1 QB recruit in the country under his tutelage.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) Rice. Thats right. First I heard OC and now Buckeyeplanet is saying QB coach. Which is good since the QB coach under Tressel the last several years only had experience in football as a video coordinator.
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) Been that way for years, though. The last time I felt the Sox were on the right track was about the middle of the 2006 season. I completely agreed with the moves they made the previous offseason in acquiring Thome and Vazquez, etc. I think its taken some casual fans and even some diehards like me to start to realize that this organization has no clear direction, no "Sox way", and piss poor leadership pushing it along.
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) You need to post more, dude. You have it perfect. I think the best part of his post was highlighting the organization. Its easy to get behind an org that seemingly does things the right way, at this point the Sox dont really fit into that category.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) Some rumors around here that our OC is leaving to become QB coach at Ohio State.... I saw the same thing. This is the guy that was at temple right?
  24. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) Innocent until proven guilty. Bail is designed to be certain the person sticks around for trial. It isn't a fine for the severity of the crime. I can't believe he will have access to any kids after his picture has been plastered all over. Thats what the PSU staff said when they banned him from campus.
