  1. romo doing everything possible to help the lions win in the second half
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) Pay the man his money!
  3. awful play call by carolina.....they basically gave newton only one option down the field there....
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) Stafford has taken more shots than Romo. Suh got to Romo on the last possession and got flagged for a key 15 yard blow to the head. The Lions are only in this game because of 2 Romo Pick-6's. havent seen the game, but looking at staffords numbers, doesnt seem like hes played to well....saw the highlight of his TD which was a terrible decision and megatron just made a beastly play through 3 defenders to haul it in
  5. boy newton is really good...way more accurate than he looked in college. Also making all the right reads when the bears are blitzing. This kid is the real deal
  6. i know this is absolutely the correct baseball move, but its a bit sad to see Ozzie go.
  7. lots of big plays in the passing game were missed today for various reasons (cutler with poor throws, receivers dropping catchable balls, refs missing PI etc). The team misses earl bennett more than people realize
  8. wheres the peavy hate? what a prima donna
  9. seinfeld is the easy #1 simpsons and jeopardy are up there For 2.5 seasons I would have said Lost, but then it fell completely off the planet.
  10. why in the world have we continued to pitch hardy inside
  11. yeah sale is f***ing good....since we held on to thornton i sure hope the offseason plans include finding another L reliever and working sale back into starting
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) It's weird that two of the best wideouts ever (Terrell Owens and Randy Moss) are flaming out like this, but I guess it makes sense. If they are no longer elite, why put up with their bs? yep. guys with enormous egos continue to have those egos despite their skills declining
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 05:53 PM) Yes, the individuals on this team aren't unlikeable except for Rios. It's just the style of play and the results that make for a team that's been hard to support. peavy drives me nuts

    High blood pressure

    QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 02:16 AM) After being ever so healthy most of my life (knock on wood) I got diagnosed with high blood pressure. After eating way better and monitoring it for 2 months (I haven't even had a beer all summer), it's still too high so they have put me on Bystolic. Have any of u taken this stuff? Did it lower your blood pressure? Does high blood pressure just exist in the body as a deep dark secret, or can it cause symptoms? For instance since getting on this stuff I feel like some pressure/numbness I felt in my temple, which brought me to the doc in the first place, has reduced. And lately I haven't felt as if I am close to fainting, which also brought me to the doc in the first place. Is this all psychosematic (sp?) or can high blood pressure f*** u up so to speak?? Thank u. I figured somebody on here must have hi blood pressure. hypertension most commonly has no symptoms in and of itself. This is why it gets checked at pretty much every doc visit. That said, those with HTN often have other comorbid conditions (high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, etc), and those things can have presenting symptoms. If you have a hypertensive crisis (generally a systolic over 200) there are usually symptoms (headache, palpitations, changes in vision, etc). This is generally a medical emergency though, and if this was the case, you would have been admitted to a hospital (as was the case someone mentioned above) Likely the symptoms residing are a result of having a healthier lifestyle (not drinking, eating better, maybe working out) which all have multi-system effects and in general are going to make you feel better from top to bottom. The best initial treatment (i'm sure the docs said this) is lifestyle modification - and taking the steps you said previously, cutting back on sodium, exercising, etc. If this doesn't work, they will treat it pharmacologically. The drug you are on Bystolic (nebivolol) is not a statin as mentioned above. It is a beta-blocker which are class of drugs that are used to treat a variety of cardiovascular conditions. Statins are used for high cholesterol, not high blood pressure. I'm assuming that your doc would have checked your cholesterol levels and that they are probably ok otherwise he would have started these. Hypertension is a vascular disease, meaning it effects your blood vessels. As such, it has an effect on pretty much every single organ system. Long standing high BP can cause kidney damage, put you at risk for strokes (due to rupture of blood vessels in the brain), and most commonly it causes increased strain on our heart. As a result of the increased strain the heart enlarges (just like any muscle that has an increase in workload). when the heart enlarges it becomes less effective, and ultimately can lead to heart failure. As bad as your experiences with the docs have been (which is awful and unacceptable btw), it is important to continue to go. In your case the good thing is that you are getting it treated. The bad thing about not going to the doc for 20 years, is that your BP could have been elevated for 10 years (which will take its toll on the body). hopefully its a relatively new thing and if you are compliant with the drugs and lifestyle modifications, hypertension can be effectively treated.
  15. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) Well, i have never heard of the richest safety in the league. I'm not sure what that says about me. IIRC San Diego gave the bears a big package in order to draft Weddle, and then people laughed at SD cuz they thought hed be there later in the draft. Turns out maybe they knew what they were doing
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) He asked why Morel gets a free pass offensively but Rios and Dunn do not. I answered. I understand why he gets a free pass. I just dont think he deserves a free pass, because, quite frankly, he really really really has stunk at baseball this year
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) Cause it would be hard to be worse, and the question about Gamel has never really been his offense. agreed. Has there ever been a player that has gotten more of a free pass than Morel? The rios and dunn struggles have really hidden the fact that this guy has been abysmal on offense
  18. was working all day, so haven't been able to post. i was mad at first, but that was before I really knew anythign about stewart. The fact that stewart is a semi-decent prospect changes this for me and at least makes it tolerable. We were lucky to get anybody to take teahen, and getting a decent prospect + a solid reliever is about what I thought we would get for Jackson who we only controlled for another 2 mos Rasmus would have been nice, but it didnt look like that was going to work out. It is what it is, and KW has taken some big swings and misses lately, and theres not a whole lot we can do about it now. The guy has really been awful in the last 3-4 years. Both Swisher trades were bad, neither vazquez trade was good, now both jackson deals have been subpar. Add into that the horrendous Rios claim, the bad peavy deal, and the questionable dunn signing at best.....I wouldn't mind seeing a regime change here
