  1. And there goes the lead.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) Abreu just can't catch sometimes. Also not sure why Renteria let Swarzak start this inning Sox definitely need to target a first baseman in trade talks. Abreu should be their DH. Not only improve the defense but also keep Abreu healthy.
  3. Anderson's defense is bad.
  4. I loved Jimmy Piersall. RIP Jimmy, you were the best.
  5. Robertson nails it down! Nice win! I love it. Now let's take care of Sale tomorrow!
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2017 -> 02:50 PM) I don't know why they are bunting anyway, but if the first 2 attempts did not show you it wasn' t going to work, it boggles the mind. That's usually something you only see in the NL with a pitcher batting.
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 29, 2017 -> 02:49 PM) Why are we bunting with two strikes? I love what Renteria brings to the table overall, but good god his love for bunting sucks. He must have absolutely no confidence in Engel as a hitter.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) What a joke...go coach softball No bunting in softball.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) Moncada is not that bad on defense We'll see. He probably won't be anywhere near as good as Sanchez, however. Regardless, maybe the Sox should have Anderson and L Garcia swap positions.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 28, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) This...totally this. I can't fathom how anyone would automatically assume Anderson would be this poor of a defender going forward. Like you said, he was awesome last year and the metrics agreed. I heard he was pretty bad defensively in the minors. Then when he came up last year I couldn't believe how good he played. The way he's been playing so far this season is more of what I expected of him. The Sox defense is really going to take a hit when Moncada replaces Sanchez at 2B. Yikes.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2017 -> 02:20 PM) Sooner they move him to CF, the better. He's unplayable out there I was happy last year when it looked like I was wrong about Anderson. Now I'm sorry that it appears I was right.
  12. Sox are gonna shell him.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2017 -> 06:55 PM) We don't really need any more 1B/DH types anyway. We desperately need a good first baseman that can hit and field well.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:56 PM) Leury Garcia currently second in Sox line-up with an 819 OPS. Never saw that one coming. Alex Rios was worth more than Greg thought. AJ told Hawk that Leury had the talent when the Sox traded for him.
  15. The first rule of baseball ... catch the ball! :-D
  16. It's likely the Sox would lose a lot more games if/when they trade Quintana, Robertson, Gonzalez, etc. and if they do, I'd be OK with those losses so long as they got good returns for those players that will help them win in the future. But even so, I would still root for them to win every game rather than root for them to lose just so they could get a higher slot in the draft which doesn't guarantee them winding up with the best players anyway. Just win.
  17. I remember a few years ago everybody was drooling over a kid named Pedro Alvarez, who I believe wound up being drafted second overall that year. How many would have liked to "Tank for Alvarez?"
